Whats your favorite 1-2 round combo?

382 posts in this topic

We will likely find 2 starters in the first 2 rounds. So what is everyone's favorite possible 1-2 round punch to help get this team back to winning?

I personally want Spence and darian thompson. Spence is my top edge rusher and I think that's the 2nd biggest hole on the team, and after some more studying I have a top 20 grade on Thompson but he is still projected in the 2nd and fills a huge void and I think He goes a long way in fixing the secondary.

I've also grown on myles Jack and like the idea of him and Thompson, gives us a lot of big play ability in coverage and immediately turns our defense from sluggish to one of the faster ones in the league. We also could become one of the smartest defenses in the league as they both have some brilliant instincts and play recognition.

Ps. If this seems like a waste of space kind of thread I apologize, I get bored working overnight lol

I'd be pretty stoked with Ramsey and Boyd, Ramsey might be a streach though.

I have pretty much ruled out Ramsey but he's 2nd on my board after tunsil. If we could get ramsey I would still want Thompson and I think our secondary would immediately become the strength of the team

Welcome to the dark side.

Spence / K. Fuller.

I must be the only one that just doesn't really see it in fuller.. Idk I mean he seems solid but I don't see some sure fire starting cb, he seems very undisciplined and he just seems to play a little bit... Dumb, for lack of a better word. And he seems real inconsistent

I want him to play FS for Ravens.

I went to VT and saw every single game he played in. I'd disagree vehemently with dumb, although I will say he's a risk taker. Undisciplined is a bad word to use.

I think he'd do very well there, but I think he'll be absolutely money in a Tampa 2 team.

Hey may be a decent fs, he's got a little bit of route jumping prowess, but i just don't trust him in man coverage as a cb, I think he trusts his instincts a little too much.

Darian Thompson I think is next level, he is brilliant in calling the qbs every move and he plays the ball like a legit wr. I just think fuller is in a whole class below him tbh

I agree it's unlikely, but I could see a situation where the top 5 goes Bosa, QB, Tunsil, Jack, Buckner. It would be dependent on at least 1 QB going in the top 5.

I don't think the cowboys take back though. I think they either take ramsey, bosa, or buckner, I just can't see them going another direction

In fairy tale world I'd like Ramsey in round 1 and have spence slip into the early 2nd. Don't see it happenin.

Realistically- Buckner and apple would be cool.

Ideal or realistic it won't happen but on fan speak I had Bosa and Spence but that's probably not happening but that would be a killer rush. I would love for Apple to fall but probably Spence Fuller. I know some people question Fuller but everyone says he's better than his brother and his brother is a solid starter.

I like the combo of DeForest Buckner and Kendall Fuller providing the medical reports on Fuller's knee check out.

So you finally caught up on the Thompson bandwagon ;) .

My mind is changing twice a week, but as of now I had Hargreaves and Spriggs. Not flashy but this would solidify us on important areas.

The Jack-Thompson combo is probably my pick is you ask me to give you "game changers"

I think we have the same two in mind. Thompson is interesting to me in that I think he goes round one. I think he would be worth trading up for...perhaps we might need to jump ahead of Pittsburgh. Not sure what it would cost but to me,giving our 4th round pick would be a no brainier. It could also be more expensive.

based solely on game film I'd say Thompson is a better prospect than Ramsey. I realize I'm way in the minority on that and that Ramsey perhaps offers more versatility, I just don't think his game tape measures up on the whole and Thompson would be a steal to me in the second round.

Deforest Buckner and Jason Spriggs. It'll give the Ravens the chance to really take control of the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Depends on what you want in a prospect, but Ramsey offers way higher upsides. In therms of ceiling, I see Thompson as a future Eric Weddle, and Ramsey as a future Charles Woodson.

Having the next Eric Weddle in the 2nd would be a steal though, that's for sure and this would help our secondary in the most significant way I can imagine.

I like Thompson but i I kinda see him as a mid 2nd round guy, it's kinda funny this is the first time in years we get a high draft pick and everyone is enamored with mid round guys like Alexander in the first and Thompson in the second. I think it's more likely we'll be grabbing a higher rated guy who falls out of the first round.

I hear ya, not only will many rise/fall before the draft but I also see Ozzie grabbing a falling first rounder with are second.

I'd be ecstatic if we got Spence in the 1st and Thompson in the 2nd! I think thompsons stock will rise some as we get closer to the draft. If by some chance Thompson ran a 4.47 range 40 he might slip into the late 1st round. Especially if the 1st safety Ramsey is gone in the in the top 3 of the 1st round.

Agreed, Ozzie will go BPA in the two first rounds, so if there's a faller for us in the 2nd he won't hesitate. However I think Thompson is fully worth an early 2nd round pick.

Thompson is not known for being blazing fast, so I don't see it happening, fortunately.

It's my opinion that Ozzie likes to take a risks with the 2nd rounder. He is willing to take a guy with off field warts or an injury who has talent there.

some guys that fit this mold are:

Noah Spence, OLB Eastern Kentucky - Well documented Ecstasy issues, and booted out of NCAA big 10. Now rumors he bombed the Senior bowl interviews?

Robert NkemdicheDL Ole Miss - Marijuana and falling out an hotel balcony.....

Jaylon Smith, OLB ND - Depends on if he can work out in the combine.....Taking a guy in the 1st round who you know isn't going to be physically ready is not a good idea.

Tyler Boyd, WR Pitt - off field issues

I think the best fit is Ramsey/Boyd, the more probable is Spence/Boyd or Thompson, but I think it is going to be VH3/Boyd(just a feeling that I have.)  i won't be disappointed with most combinations, but these are the ones I feel are best and most likely.
