The Rumor Mill

This isn't a rumor but I can imagine us being very high on Darian Thompson. He just seems like a classic Ozzie curve-ball. Last year after saying we were not picking a WR, we go out in pick one in the 1st round. In 2014, a season after trading up in the 2013 Draft of the 2nd round for ILB, Arthur Brown, we draft another ILB named C.J Mosley in the 1st round of the 2014. A lot of people assume that because Webb is making the switch to FS, that we won't simply draft one, I wouldn't be surprised if Thompson is our guy in the 2nd round at all, he can be amazing in the next level.

I'm a fan of Thompson, I'd be on board. If the Cowboys don't pick Ramsey though I'd see them snatching him at the top of the 2nd.

I have really warmed up to Thompson. I think I'd be on board with him in the 2nd. I wonder how his combine affects him and if we may want to trade back up into the 2nd for him

I think the obvious ones would be boyd, spriggs, and Kendall fuller. Will fuller and Thompson may get consideration and I think we Will be on the lookout for fallers, like jarran reed or adolphus Washington specifically are guys who come to mind

The worst for me was the Giants taking OBJ. Even though we probably would have taken someone else and that would have hurt worse. I was driving to work and listening to the draft on my phone. For some reason I got a really bad feeling when Goodell started to announce the pick and I started a long string of loud swear words when OBJ's name came out. And watching him become a highlight reel sensation didn't help.

DeCosta is on record saying that CJ was our top player since the 10th overall pick so I can't hate the Giants too much. Would have been even worse if we could have taken him but didn't. Just glad he ended up in the NFC.

Well, that may be true, but my wife is a Pats fan that wears Ravens gear!  Yes, I'm converting her very slowly.

So here's one I find weird, from Walter's rumor mill posted yesterday:

The Titans like Tunsil better than Bosa.  Okay, not a big surprise.  But Walter says they really want to trade back, still staying in the top 10, and take a DB.  Walter thinks they have eyes on Ramsey or maybe Hargreaves.

I'm not sure who in the top 10 would trade all the way up to first, and for whom.  Is there a team that clearly really needs Bosa that badly?  I'm also intrigued that it makes it sound like the Titans have Ramsey in the back of their top 10, considering we've been assuming he's gone by #6.    Last, Mariota is going to cry himself to sleep if they skip Tunsil for more draft picks.   It seems like they're trying to maintain the value of the first pick overall, in case there is a trade partner. But I don't see them doing this.  Am I missing something?

It's also interesting because that would put them right around our pick, and looking for some of the same guys.

I could see the Chargers trading up for Tunsil depending on the price.

I respect that, i wish we could load up on 2nd round picks, because there's a lot of talent project to be there. I've become a big fan of Sterling Shepard as well.

Still believe that Peyton is going to hang em up. RGIII is not a solution for anyone at starting QB. I still think the Rams are going to want to (re)start their franchise stint in LA with a young QB of the future. Question still remains as to whether they 1) view any QB in this draft as that guy and 2) are willing to pay the price to move up and get him.

There just aren't a lot of QB options floating around at the moment.

Jerry with all his bluster has a mole at the Ravens. Ends up picking every player we covet and has done fairly well since! Hate him with a passion unknown to mankind.

The Saints need pass rush help bad but I'm not sure if they will be willing to give up so many picks for Bosa and I know the Buccs need help at pass rush as well.

The Saints are the last team I would expect to trade up.

They have a bad team with needs all over the place and are in salary cap purgatory. They need as many picks as possible.

Since tunsil is plan b and they would almost definitely get the 2nd player on their board in that trade, I could see them letting it go for a relatively cheap price.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens traded up for their guy. We've done stuff like that before and we were interested in getting Mack. What if we [Ozzie] feels that Tunsil is the best prospect ever and another JO and that he can save tons of cap money by trading up for him and cutting Monroe? I think it makes sense. It also makes sense if Ozzie thinks Ramsey is the best player in the class. I would keep an eye out for the Ravens trading up as well, as unlikely as it may initially seem.

Oh man I would crap a brick. Idc if it took next year's first I'd be ecstatic. Tunsil just looks like such a stud I see no downside there at all.

My thoughts exactly. I'd rather stay put unless Tunsil shocks the world and at least drops to 3 or 4

The more I watch his tape and see what analysts have pointed out as his strengths and weaknesses, he clearly stands out as the #1 prospect, I'd give up next years first for him too. He could be a top three LT within a few years. His nickname is the freaking eraser! Lol

Maybe if Bosa or Tunsil falls out of the top 3, Dallas might have a chance to reconcile our draft day hatred for them lol

Two firsts and probably a mid-round pick like a 3rd would be the going rate according to the draft trade value chart, but that chart is hardly set in stone.

I think it would be worth it if it's anything equal to or less than 2 firsts (this year's and next's) and a 3rd. Much more and I would pass.

I think our easier schedule for 2016 (playing both the NFC and AFC East, plus Jags and Raiders), coupled with a healthier roster will give us a decent amount of wins, making any pick in 2017 lower than average. (maybe a homer opinion :D )

I like the idea of getting a franchise LT on a rookie contract

This draft is kinda deep at potential franchise LTs. Obviously they aren't all on Tunsil's level, but we can get one in the second. It could even be possible to trade up from the 2nd round, cut ahead of Denver, and get an LT at the end of the first.

From what I've heard from Broncos fans, they are expecting Sambrailo to be the LT of the future. Not sure how seriously they are considering an OT.

That's true. Though their line as a whole seems to have a lot of unproven people and people nearing the end their of contract. Knowing Kubiak, I wouldn't be surprised to see him take one, or a guard.

I don't think it'll cost as much as some think to trade up to #1 if the Titans really want to trade down. I think the Titans would potentially take a 1st and 3rd and be satisfied. It's only 5 spots but the value isn't based on the trade value chart but that particular team's interest in trading back for picks. If a team really wants to trade back they'll take a "loss" if it means they'll get a gain.

I'm not going to Vegas and placing a bet the Ravens trade up, but I wouldn't bet against it either.
