Was the Super Bowl a wake up message to bring back Organized Chaos?

Lol as if scheme was the difference in the game

Give Pees Von Miller and either of their corners and our defense moves up in all categories. Guarantee it. Von Miller is a freak.

And if I ever read or hear the words "organized chaos" again.....

Call me mr purple cool aid but here's my 3 cents.Doom is a pro bowler, has 70 sacks in his previous 5 seasons, and is a year younger than Ware. Suggs is still one of the best defenders in the NFL look at his PFF numbers and stats. He still demands a double team all game every game or hell just wreck a game. I admit we have no Von Miller, but heck 31 other teams don't.

Webb and Hill are better on paper than the Broncos safeties. I'd certainly give the Broncos the edge at CB Talib and Harris are both better than anyone we have. But J.Smith was not to far off for 2 years before he got hurt and I'm banking on him coming back. We need another solid corner across from him.

dline and MLB are two positions that we are actually deep and talented. Jernigan is a first round talent that's developing beautifully. B.williams is a pro bowler in my book. Mosley is a pro bowler and D.smith is not too shabby himself.

elam, Lewis, arrington, Brooks, z.smith, C.Davis are backups. And as a matter of fact they are really good backups but we can't have 21 players on IR again

Pees has 8 or 9 guys that could make it to a pro bowl or have already made it. This D on paper is not too far off being great. It just needs a few pieces and to click.

Very often, your D is as good as your weakest link. That's the problem. A lot of times especially early last season, our D looked like 3 units on the field instead of one. It has to click

Trust me I want to drink the purple kool aid too, simply because there are a lot of talented pieces on our defense, but we do need to stay healthy and we must address a few key areas. I think that the three main areas that could use a bump are pass rush, a #2 corner opposite of Jimmy and a young ILB next to CJ who can cover and make receivers, Running backs and Tight ends fear coming across the middle. With those three primary needs I would be ecstatic if we landed Ramsey, Bosa, or Buckner at #6 because they infuse game changing talent and woul either generate an interior pass rush to compliment Jernigan's, or Ramsey is the roaming play maker ready to do whatever is needed of him, whether it be rushing the passer, playing deep middle, or covering a receiver. With trade back scenarios in mind, if Philadelphia or LA decide to move up to grab their QB of the future ahead of San Fran or one another than we could then chase Alexander, Spence, Ogbah, or potentially Jack, Ragland, or Smith. The key is we need to patch our weaknesses and get ready to Ball So Hard

Cam had some overthrows but it was dropped passes that killed Carolina's offense rhythm, especially Cotchery. If he has no drops Carolina gets more points early and the complexion of the game changes.

Organized chaos won't happen with this Ravens defense. The personnel are just not there and Pees is there, case closed.

Agree the draft should be defense oriented. If Bosa is there at 6, no brainer. If he isn't, take Spence. It doesn't matter he is projected later in the draft. Take him. It is what the defense needs. Also, don't be cute and trade back to a spot where you think you can still get him plus pick up an extra pick later on. That's fools play and risking what this defense needs, an impact pass rusher. Suggs sand Doom are both slowing way down. A young stud is needed.

Would you take Buckner at #6 if Bosa is gone and so is Ramsey? Or how about if LA or Philly offer their second rd picks as well so that we can grab two mid round picks like Spence and Ogbah, or Spence and Alexander?

I mean their scheme was concrete the entire game, rush 5 defenders, with Von and Ware coming off the edge as quick as can be, while putting all corners in man coverage and allowing your safeties to roam free and make plays, most often near the middle of the field and the line of scrimmage. It was a kind of swagger that they were able to bring utilizing the talent that they had.

Great post!

Agree agree and agree. I for one felt the loss of Ngata even though Jernigan and Williams did great. We still need one more monster to emerge on that line. D.Smith has been priceless to this team. I hate to say this but he has lost a step and maybe it's time we go young. I say this with a lot of shame because we certainly got our money's worth and some from Daryl. I just wished A.Brown would be starting calibar by now but unfortunately we gotta find a real ILB that can produce. This draft, man we can't go wrong. I'm so used to watching film on guys projected later in the first round and finding wholes in their game and comparing them etc.... This year I'm looking at highlights and damn it feels like we can't go wrong. These guys that will be avaliable when we pick are really talented. All the guys you mentioned are so easy to fall in love with if they put the purple on. Plus we have a Perriman that's just a bonus.

did you say get ready to ball so hard? Bro you are drinking the kool aid with me you just don't wanna admit it lol

It amazes me that even with all the blatantly offensive friendly rules now in place in this league that the old axio is still true that great offenses win the regular season, but great defenses win the post season.  The Broncos, Seahawks, Steelers, and Patriots (tho' I hate writing that last team).

Even though a great defense no longer is measured in stinginess like the Steel Curtain, the 85 Bears, or the 2000 Ravens, the game had to evolve with the new defenseless receiver and passer rules that made it easier for offense to dominate.  Rather than yardage and point stuffing, now defenses focus on turnovers, red zone scores and QB pressure.  Only elite defenses can do all three well enough to thwart elite offenses and we're seeing that more and more.

Nowhere do we have the defensive speed that Denver has . You want organized chaos you gotta have elite speed .

Doom & Suggs do not have the speed and burst of Miller and Ware . Sorry it's not close .

We just might post-draft! Bleachers report and a few others think that Spence is making a case to go #5 or #6 if he does well at the combine. Leonard Floyd is as quick of an edge rusher as there is in this draft, but size might send him into the second round as well.

Wade Phillips isn't A organized chaos DC. He is an excellent 34 DC who calls aggressively with lots of disruptive coverage and always rushes both OLBs and brings a blitz often, but organized chaos is exactly what it sounds like, you have DTs zone dropping, dbs blitzing, OLBs stunting behind the NT while the ILB crashes the edge and the opposite OLB drops into middle coverage. It is quite different from the Broncos d. Lets also not forget how perfectly assembled their defense is, you can't draw up a better depth chart for a wade Phillips defense, they sold out for 1 ring and it finally paid off, we have a long way to go before we can reach that level

Gotta agree with a lot of what is being said here. The Broncos didn't scheme anything flashy, they just have a wealth of talent on the D. A lot of those guys are geting paid after this. Trevathan, Jackson, Ware are probably hitting FA. But, maybe they retain Jackson. Vonn is obviously getting paid. Talib is a [profanity deleted], but he's solid. CHJ was an UFA iirc. Stewart was able to focus entirely on his own game because of the talent around him.

That was a very un-Flacco like performance by Cam. And as for bringing back organized chaos...we just need to harvest as much talent as possible this offseason, and that's what we'll be. No point in trying to force an identity for the sake of it.

Agreed. We need to overcome our talent deficit through free agency and the draft first and foremost. We're wasting the availability of a franchise QB who wins in the post season by not having effective weapons for him to throw to or protect him. We need to add to the defense be it pass rush or the back end period.
