Roddy White was available at 3 stars and I only got one inquiry, which was after I cut him. (And not even someone who bidder on him). Now he goes for 4.5.

It was either Anquan Boldin or Roddy White for me.  I, too, wanted that experience.  Glad I went with Boldin over White now.  Thought maybe I could snag White cheaper but that didn't end up being the case.

Yeah, I really wanted an experienced safety valve for Blake if one of my WRs goes down. Might have been a slight overpay for White, but with Allen retiring I've got even more space than before (hashtag I make it rain). And with James Starks and Tim Hightower coming in at inexpensive deals, it makes Toby Gerhart an easy cut candidate - unless someone wants to give me a Mars bar wrapper for him.

I'm very happy to add RB Bilal Powell (1.5 stars), RB Lance Dunbar (0.5 stars) and WR Nate Washington (0.5 stars).

With my cap space and needs I decided to hedge my bets in RB FA as I figured the costs would be cheaper.

Powell really helped the Jets offense out late last year and has always been a good receiving/blocking back. Also has averaged over 4 yards per carry every year with more than 2 games played (1 year). I'll take him as my #2.

Dunbar was the Cowboys shifty 3rd down receiving back last year and was playing pretty well until he tore his ACL (21 receptions in 4 games).

Washington has always been a favorite of mine. I added him last year with the Saints at 1 star. He's always been an underrated WR who has always produced (over 40 receptions and 550 yards every year since 2008). He can play outside and in the slot and provides a veteran presence for my young WR corps (Landry, Parker, Stills and Dorsett).

My RBs won't blow anyone away, but Jay Ajayi, Bilal Powell, Lance Dunbar and Damien Williams should be enough of a combination to provide a decent rushing attack. I'll definitely be good throwing to them.

Tannehill has weapons this year:

RB: Jay Ajayi, Bilal Powell, Lance Dunbar, Damien Williams
WR: Devante Parker, Phillip Dorsett
WR: Kenny Stills, Nate Washington
SWR: Jarvis Landry
TE: Martellus Bennett, Dion Sims, Michael Williams

Not too shabby buddy, not too shabby

Very happy with Morris as well. Behind a ZBS he should return back to normal. Especially since we're focusing more on running the ball. I have Gisellle, the big play threat, Morris the every down/ power back, and then Allen, the receiver back

Very happy to reunite Brees with Jimmy Graham along with Jeffery, White and Cruz. Now if I can just get him an Offensive Line......

Remember when you said before the game that you'd actually have an OL this year?  Good times.

;)

Time to do the FA run down:

DHB: Fine bringing him back for 0.5 Stars
DeAndre Carter: My least surprising signing of all FA ;)
Stedman Bailey: Worth a risk at 0.5 Stars, pretty big fan of his
Will Johnson: No harm bringing my FB back
Khiry Robinson: More RB depth in case Bell and Williams go down again
Jordan Todman: No harm bringing my RB back
Zach Miller: Makes Heath Miller more expendable(so send me your offers)

Yup. But I traded my two guards for Graham and Brees. And my center as part of a trade for Marcus Martin, Ahmad Brooks, and Antoine Bethea.

Not to shabby, and certainly not as bad as last year

I'm pretty happy with my WR group with the addition of Boldin.

Kelvin Benjamin coming back should be big for the team.  Boldin can man the slot and be another reliable target besides Olsen.  Funchess had a decent rookie year and should be a nice rotational guy on the outside for another year.  Ted Ginn will remain as the big play threat in more a limited role.  Corey Brown can operate as another slot guy or a potential field stretcher.  Good mix of skill sets, I think.  Not a perfect group but I think the addition of Boldin helps out big time.

Whites still the better player IMO. Not surprised he went for more despite a down year

I like Washington also. I looked at him but don't need another bet receiver.

I like ajayi better than Miller. By quite a bit. I woukd have liked Powell but I'm on too tight of a budget.

I'd like to see what Brian Quick could do with some more development and a good QB now. Definitely overpaid for Matthews, but I do like him a lot and after I lost out on Ladarius Green I wanted to secure another weapon for Ryan. They add some much needed depth behind Julio.

I was high on Matthews when he was coming out. Nabbed him as a 5th rounder in the FM that year. I think he can be a solid No.2.

We'll see how Ajayi fairs this year, as it looks like he'll have a much bigger role. I know what you mean about a tight budget. Powell is going to be my biggest FA addition at 1.5 stars and my 2nd is probably going to be Adam V at 1 star

Yeah, and he only went for 0.5 stars more and is a year younger than Boldin. I don't think there's a lot of difference between the two going for what they did.

I would've made the same choice. I feel like White's name has been bigger than his play in recent years.

Forte is a bargain at 2.5 stars.

Seriously.  I can't believe he didn't get more attention, even if he is older.

If I'm the Jags I'd rather spend the 1.5 stars than give up an asset with plenty of cap space and not a deep roster.

Why won't this site notify me of replies anymore? I have the box at the bottom checked, but nothing. I could've been more diligent in checking on the train home, but feel like it played a part in my loss of Marvin Jones.

True, but some teams like to secure their players. Given that White was cut, I'm assuming the price was low. In either case, the comment isn't about the Jaguars move as it is about the spike in interest.

Yikes. That is tough. Sorry to hear that.

Completely agree, An ideal fit with the Kubiak Shanahan system of outside stretch runs.  I'd like to have him in baltimore in real life, but we have bigger fish to fry.

To be fair, the spike in interest was kinda my fault (if you want to call it that) and could have happened to any player. If I decided to put my eggs in the Boldin or Jones basket White wouldn't have gotten so expensive, and the point is that you can't really predict that.

Yep. He's been so consistent with producing yardage in his career

With a very tight budget with this Jets team I feel like the backfield is better and younger than what they had...

Tre Mason young RB capable of carrying the starters load imo.  He should be a lot more reliable than Ivory.  And cheaper.  I like Herron as a nice backup who has done well with the worst Oline in the league in Indy before as an all around back.  (also a homer pick).  I like the Painter as a 3rd back better than Stacey as he is younger, more durable and has some power.

Andre Holmes not a big name but should be a good role player to help stretch the field as a 4th WR.

Sudfeld I believe was due for a good year before going down with the knee injury.  Brought him back for the minimum.  If he isn't healthy no loss in cutting him.

Definitely a fair statement. Plus there were only two bids which aids your point. I'm just saying that it would be disappointing if I shopped a player, cut him and he received interest for more than one team in the FA. In the very general sense of the point and that's not an indictment on anybody. Then again, that could be an indication of how he was shopped around. Or poor luck in terms of potential suitors not seeing his availability.
