Invalid, as RFA bids must be more than their tender

I can't believe the prices some of these guys got to.  I pulled back Brad Nortman for 0.5 stars.  I'm pumped about that after seeing these prices.

:D

I have to say I'm a fan of bringing in the transition tag rules. It made for an interesting wrinkle.

Wait, so there isn't a message deal sent where I can up my bid like with other free agents?

I know you'll take the 1st round pick and run with that. Lol

Not with RFA or the transition tag, they just have to match

Question: When you trade for a player, does their cap hit on your team not include dead money (i.e., former team cap hit - dead money = new team cap hit)? If so, I have more room than I thought.

Nope.  Your final bid is it in RFA.

When you trade for a player, you only inherit their base salary.

I think its simply base salary. Not cap hit - dead money.

When you trade for a player you take on their base salary. Trading a guy away saves you the cap hit minus the dead money.

I think Schraeder is a nice pickup for the Colts OL and he will definitely help protect Luck. But yeah, I'm good with having the 17th and 18th pick in the draft haha.

Ok, I'll quote just you for brevity.

It looks like Sportrac uses the formula Base Salary + Roster Bonus + Workout Bonus = New Team Cap Hit. Can anyone confirm that we're just using Base Salary?

Roster and workout bonuses disappear in this game.  It's a bit of a loophole, but it's done for simplicity's sake.

Just a technicality, but you need to post this in the RFA thread.

1st rd pick is a good get for you though

Simplicity? Not for me. Sportrac's salary cap manager is much simpler. I would recommend people try it. But ok.

Question: if the FA is signed for 1.5 stars, does cutting him save 0.5 or 1 star?

1 star.  .75 would round up.

How is just looking at the base salary and seeing that harder than going off what a cap manager says?
