[News] Late For Work 2/8: Ravens Leave 8 Fingerprints On Super Bowl 50

33 posts in this topic

I know I'm one of the few here, but I was rooting for the Broncos - or, rather, Peyton. His recent form and season may very well be criticised, because he's really been a shell of his former self - but the journey... he more than definitely deserved to go out on top.

Well... assuming he retires, which, at this point, I think is a foregone conclusion. I don't think anybody - including himself - could give one valid reason to continue. And he's not Ed Reed to convince himslef to go over the top and not seize the perfect opportunity to step away. (Luckily, our very own Ed realized it soon enough - nad also, Ed is Ed, that's how we love him :D)

As for Lynch - is there a bigger way of trolling than announcing your retirement during the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl?

He's like Jacoby: there isn't really a lot not to like about him... His "I'm just here so I won't get fined" already earned him my two-thumbs-up - and now this... immaculate :D

Oh, and our very own Chad Steele... it should be noted that it's kind of easy to somehow always showing up on photos when your job is to be there AND you're a couple of feet taller than anybody else around :D

Classy move on Kubiak's part. Newton on the otherhand, if you are brash & cocky about winning then you need to lose with some dignity. Definitely not how the MVP, face of the league acts after a loss. Grow up.

After watching the Super Bowl I wouldn't mind if we drafted a defensive player with every pick lol.....jk, maybe. I never seen a defense since the 2000 Ravens, maybe 2013 Seahawks, just absolutely man handle a league MVP and the top scoring offense the way that they did. The thing that was the most impressive was that Peyton and the offense made it their goal to kill clock and run manilla plays so that their defense could get back out there! It was pretty crazy to see, but all this Super Bowl verified was the defense always has and always will win championships.

Cam not right to sulk, after all those adoring kids are watching your behavior. Put on your big boys pants. Believe me I wanted the Panthers to win over Elway and #18.

Just when I thought Cam Newton was more than a spoiled little cry baby it turns out the only reason it appeared that way this season was because he wasnt losing. When will he become a man?

Cam is a good player but doesn't have the heart of a Joe Flacco period. I can imagine Joe diving right in to save that fumble as would the QB I hate most Brady. I was disappointed and lost some respect for Cam between that play and his petulance at his presser. In any event, although I predicted a Panthers win, I am so happy for Kubiak and his crew that were in Baltimore! Good for him!

I really wanted to see Carolina win just because I utterly despise John Elway. Man, I can't stand that guy.

I agree, he is so smug and arrogant, but I am happy for Kubiak and his recognition of Baltimore.

pees has a lot of work to do

Pees has to let our players have as much freedom as Phillips does his plays and in their scheme. I think his defensive philosophy over complicates things and leads to a lot of plays where our players are out of position, particularly on pass plays.

Steve Smith Sr. took a lot of heat about his relationship with Cam. After having SSS on our team for 2 years and understanding his personality just a little, I can see him wanting to strangle that little child that seems to come out of Cam when someone takes his lollipop away. He goes from Superman to a little spoiled girl in the throes of a temper tantrum. Which, BTW, explains those pants he was wearing the other day. I could have swore my little girl was wearing the exact same pants the week before. I wonder if there is some link.

Look at the difference between Russell Wilson and Can Newtown after losing the SB. Wilson stood tall and answered questions like a man. As far as Cam goes, you just lost your dancing and Superman privileges. WAAAAHHHHHHH!!!

Chad's a big guy so I guess he gets the big names - or he has a thirst for stardom? LOL jk, he seems like a nice guy.

I don't think Ed ever realized that. He probably would have played at least another year if someone would have signed him.

The Broncos' offense reminded a lot of the Ravens' 2000 offense. On a lot of drives, they didn't even attempt to pick up a first down. They were content to just not turn the ball over, punt and let their defense win.

The Cam bashing has got to stop! If y'all knew why he left it was because the Broncos press conference was going at the same time and he couldn't hear a lot of the reporters asking hime the questions. He was smiling and everything when him and Peyton met up in the middle so I don't see the problem. The line was garbage and he had no one to throw to cause it seemed like no one could get open.

OK but he could have handled it a little better. That being said he took this loss personally I'm sure. It takes a whole team to win or lose. He will be back bigger and better I'm sure.

Darian Stewart underscores the fact that Ozzie is bringing in talents to the secondary, but Pees scheme hasn't worked well in the secondary.

Not really funny. In fact it's a flat out corny comment.

Or just yet another prototypical case of an average defender looking really good when surrounded by very good players.

He's the Brandon Browner of that team...
