Hey, I don't disagree but you said he [Boldin] "made big plays when we needed them the most" and you just proved your own point as incorrect through the TJ drop. If Boldin was so great and this insane WR, should he have dropped a ball that even TJ, a lesser WR than Boldin without question, dropped?

I would never say "so great" or insane WR, but he was another nice vet player to have that at times did have drops like any talented WR does, yet provided a security blanket for Joe. I won't refute your statement about some of his drops costing us because it did in fact happen. When you are a Baltimore fan, I think we are all just happy when that position can provide some degree of consistency and hope that when the chips are down a play can be made, which inevitably he did in 2012. Talent wise, he is somewhere in the mix of Mason and SSS as our best WR talent.

It's funny. Another drop that goes forgotten was a key 3rd down red zone conversion that he dropped in the playoffs vs Denver. I can't remember the exact scenario but I am 100% positive of this because I was calling for his head because 2 out of the last 3 playoff runs he screwed us with an easy drop in huge moments. If not for jacobys heroics I guarantee boldin would have been the goat for this drop

It's cool, so you are implying that Mason and Smith are #1 and #2 then? and wasn't his deal 4 years, $28 million? A bigger contract than we're accustomed to,but a long shot from being even remotely expensive for what he brought to the table. All receivers drop balls occasionally and from what I remember, that was about what his drop rate was here. It boggles my mind that under Harbs we have only semi-developed one good receiver, obviously being Torrey, with barely any success besides signing vets.

I would say Mason and Smith are better than Boldin. Boldin made good catches but like said by JoeyFlex5 he was a monster one game and wasn't a factor in others. Which is why he never eclipsed 1000 yards in a season with us. Mason eclipsed 1000 yards in 3 of his last 4 years here in Baltimore. Steve Smith was on pace for over 1500 yards before injured this last season. He likely wouldn't of got that many but 1200 easily. I think Steve Smith may be the most talented wide receiver to be in a Baltimore Ravens uniform. I don't want to take anything away from Boldin, but he was going to cost at least twice as much if we kept him than we got Steve Smith for and Steve Smith has outproduced him a lot more. I love Boldin and he is an amazing guy on and off the field and I rooted for him to win the Walter Peyton Man of the year award, but there is a reason the front office didn't keep him.

I agree with that. I have always been a huge Boldin fan, but I have always been an even bigger Steve Smith fan. It is crazy to see his production here at age 35 and 36, imagine if we had at least gotten him around 2010/11 instead of Boldin while he was about 30. I truly believe that pure talent wise over his career he was a top 5 WR EVER. He was what AB is now, but with better blocking skills and power. Anyways, can we just pray Perriman and Aiken both develop nicely for the future and Shepard gets his name called in the 3rd.

spence bombed the senior bowl interviews could push him to 2nd or 3rd round.

Any links about Spence bombing the SB interviews? By the way I'm hoping you're right and he falls right into Ozzie's lap in the second and frankly I don't care what he said in the interviews. Trump says the darndest things ever and he just won the NH primary!! :o
