Other Sporting evens you like to see at M&T bank?

35 posts in this topic

Might be too cold to Wrestle in April.  If you can go see Army-Navy when it comes to M&T Bank this year.  I went and a had a great time, where the tradition and pageantry are at their highest level.

If Quatar is dropped from the World Cup in 2022 and replaced by the US, M&T Bank Stadium should be one of the sites, since its hosted a lots of International Friendlies and the Gold Cup.  Its better than FedEx Field, because of its downtown location, where you can go the Horseshoe, the Inner Harbor, Dempsey's in the Warehouse and Hammerjacks will be resurrected almost across the street.

Perhaps moving the Military Bowl here and renaming something else might work.

One thing I don't think they should get is the B1G football Championship game, not much interested here.  Maybe the Baseball Tournament at Oriole Park.

Im all for Baseball Tournament at Oriole Park. But Wrestlemania was at New Jersey Giants stadium 3 years ago. So why not at M&T Bank? Also why not have an Floyd Mayweather fight in July at M&T Bank?

Boxing sounds good, The Big Ten baseball tournament was held at Target Field last year in Minneapolis. Other Major League parks they could use is Nationals Park which is close to the Terps as well or Yankee Stadium or Citi Field, close to Rutgers.  Just send the major league home team on a long road trip.

The commissioner of the B1G., Jim Delaney is trying to push the brand on the East Coast, there was a basketball hockey double header at MSG this year.   And the men's tournament will be held at the Verizon Center next year and the Garden, the year after that.  They will play it, the week before the Big East which has a stronghold there.

I tend to agree with you on the 2022 World Cup, Nightman, however, in regard to having some of the matches here in the States, the venues would need natural grass - per FIFA rules; if natural grass could be used at M&T, it may just pass inspection.

Heres another even O's should consider. Every Sunday at 3PM when O's are on the road ether a Bowie Baysox or Norfolk Tides game at the yard. All season plan holders get in free. Non season plan holder just pay $20 to watch O's futures at the yard..

Every Saturday From 3rd week September Local College game at M&T Bank. Maryland,Navy,Towson and Morgan at 1PM

How about a soccer friendly between the US Women's National team and a foreign competitor?

Or since Hammerjacks is opening soon, how about a music festival with Kix, Guns and Roses and other bands related to that club.

They're replacing the turf with grass this year, probably because of the Ravens injury crisis last year.  If it works then fine.  But first FIFA got to see about the Qatar bribery situation, if they don't get it the US will.

Thanks for the heads up, Nightman.

Cricket is boring

Imran apparently doesn't think so.  Yet again, you ask someone their opinion and you say things like that.

I'll admit that I've been one for the footy since the early to mid eighties, when we had Essendon and Hawthorn dominating the league, and I do enjoy the footy!

I like to see an exhibition game between Brisbane Broncos vs Collingwood Magpies in Baltimore. Are Magpies same as Ravens? Maybe they can borrow our Mascot

I suspect Collingwood team would be beaten, literally.

That game can't happen because they play different codes of footy NRL vs AFL (rugby league and ausie rules football)

Well Aussie Footyball can be fun to watch and sometimes brutal to see. If you take ur kids they might laugh at some stuff goes on there. Aussies don't think its funny because they're used to it. But they criticize American football cause our players wear pads and helmets. But Aussies will never understand why. American football used to be a very dangerous game but thats why they made you wear helmets and pads. Watch this video. This is what it used to be.

They will never understand

University of Chicago was one of the original members of the Big 10, they dropped sports in World War II and were later replaced by Michigan State.   They're still in the academic arm of the B1G, the Center for Intercollegiate Cooperation where all the schools pool their resources, and have digitalized their libraries, I'd like to see the lacrosse associate Johns Hopkins join this as well since they are top research University and can bring a lot to this organization.

If Baltimore ever gets around to building a new arena and gets a hockey team, I'd like see an outdoor hockey festival either at M&T or Camden Yards.

Why the hell would a Baltimore Baseball stadium host a hockey game between a team from Pittsburgh and a team from Washington? That is complete nonsense.

Perhaps a hockey game with Capitals or something. But they probably play in Redskins stadium.

Caps Winter Classic 1/1/15 was in the Nationals stadium.

Why not a 24hour Football marathon at M&T Bank? Proceeds will go towards charity.

I used to fantasize about an all-night football jamboree many years ago;  this idea of yours gives me ideas of what I can do with my edition of the board game "Second Season".

You inspire me, Steve0x.

Maybe someone could bring back the "College All-Star Game" from a number of years ago - where the graduated senior players from the previous college season take on the Super Bowl champions, and have the proceeds go to charity.

The game was a mainstay of the original Soldier Field, and it had been the unofficial kickoff to the football season.

I know it would have to clear the college sanction, and also the NFL - as a number of NFL coaches and GMs may not want to risk some of their draft choices in this game, yet I feel it could be done - with safety concerns getting top priority.
