[News] Byrne Identity: Still Recovering, But Turning The Corner To 2016 Ravens

18 posts in this topic

The P.S. Part scares me Kevin. Every time anything positive about the Ravens spews out of Peter's mouth or his pen, bad things happen to us. So, the next time you see him, can you please ask him to refrain from saying anything positive about the Ravens? I truly believe he is jinxed as it relates to the Ravens.

I'd like to see an injured reserve versus total salary cap analysis. I bet there is a distinct correlation between injured reserve cap money and underperforming preseason expectations. The Giants had 21, but that number should be taken in context of cap space. I bet the Ravens easily had the highest salary spending sitting on IR.

Kevin,

What do those games against the Broncos and Panthers mean today? Not much. If you’re an optimist about the Ravens, these tell you how close we might be. If you’re a pessimist, the games don’t matter at all.

So, you're saying you are on the pessimist side. LOL

Moderator,

Are we ever going back to the prior comment software?

Can't see thumbs up/down.
Can't use font embellishments.
Just not as user friendly.

No, we're not going back.  Whether or not any bells and whistles will be added, I don't know.  I can tell you that a full feature version of the commenting software is just a click away.  Click on the time stamp of any post and that will morph you into the full version where  you can use lots of features.

I guess I will get used to it but it is inconvenient to go back and forth. Hope there is a way 1 day to have arrows right by the comments.

I don't know why we keep making excuses about injuries all the time- let's stop it- the season is over. Washington also had a ton of injuries, but they got production from their 4 draft picks this year and also made key free agent hires- the Ravens didn't do either of this in 2015. Let's face it, the blame should also go to the FO for not doing a good job with drafts and FA to give us a team that could also compete in 2015. Washington did it, why couldn't we? And they won with basically a second string QB in Kirk Cousins and didn't have a dominant D whatsoever- no more excuses about injuries Byrnes and BaltimoreRavens.com If we drafted better this year (and past five years), then we wouldn't have had the worst season in Baltimore Ravens History.

They did this format because this way, people can't agree in numbers that certain things were bad/ unpopular (e.g. Fire Pees, usually that got a lot of green thumbs up, or Ozzie needs to draft better going forward, that also got more thumbs up).

Ok so we have a basis for 1-3 yr newbies...what was established in 2015 is that the Ravens need playmakers. If injuries were the issue, why so many? Was the conditioning and training the problem? Did the coaches go array some way? Was the training to soft? Did Oz and the FO make the correct player choices? Where are the playmakers coming from in 2016? comments...

I will start- I think that the coaches went array in some ways. First, having to change OC for a 3rd time in as many years was absolutely ridiculous. Not only did the Ravens change the receiving core, completely in 3 years, but the running back core, and tight ends as well, So initiate a 3 play books over 3 years with revolving players, front line and 2 new centers.....man that was a stupid, stupid move!

Will Perriman have (0-500 rec. yds) , (500- 750) ,( 750- 1000 ), ( 1000 + ) for 2016? pick one

I'd like to think somewhere at the high end of the 750-1000 group but it's hard to make an educated guess having never seen him play. He could have quite a bit of competition too from WR's that Flacco already trusts.

Really people the season is over. Stop living in the past and looking for the root of the blame for last season. It was not due to one single issue, not to mention the team being further transitioned from a team with HoF'ers to a new younger core. Ever hear of growing pains? They happened and a brash of injuries. Don't look any further into it. Next season your going to see a lot of maturity from all the players that saw the field much more than they otherwise would have and it will pay dividends.
