[News] M&T Bank Stadium Experience Ranked No. 2

14 posts in this topic

I love the Bank! And we all love football and our team! But the one thing I noticed is that our fans respect the opposing fans that come into our stadium, regardless of the color of their jerseys, but I cannot say the same about other team's fans. I went to Pitt two years ago and was aggressively harassed all game and a woman that parked next to me flung her door open and dented my door. She then turned and looked at me and said "Should have picked a better team." In Buffalo, my friend had two beers poured on him too. It is just a classy stadium we have and though we might joke with opposing fans, we all remember we are there to have fun and watch a game.

I'm 100% certain that we have our share bad fans that do the same type of dumb crap that you just described.

I'm sure we do lol, but I've been to a dozen or so games and I always feel that everyone is just having a great time and enjoying the atmosphere.

Years ago when I was working secondary employment at the stadium I saw a group of Ravens fans grab some Terrible Towels from some Steelers fans and one of them took a lighter and tried to set the towels on fire. I had to intervene. Unfortunately, once in a while I am sure there are a few fans that get carried away in every NFL stadium.

I live in Northern VA because my work sent me there from my home in Baltimore. While here I started my own business, so I can't just pick up and leave even though I want too. For some odd reason there are a lot of bandwagon Steelers fans here. I am a die hard purple bleeding Ravens fan. My car's tags are R8VENS, I have a purple car and there is no doubt with all the stuff on the car I am a bigtime fan. Twice my car has been keyed, once with "Steelers" and some nasty words about the Ravens, and one with "6 rings".

Now this is a Redskin fan base area, and I have never had anyone who is a Skins fan say something (other than in fun) about the Ravens. Steelers fans here, can't wait to say something nasty. Now.....I know that if in Baltimore a Steelers fan paraded down the street, or a Ravens fan did the same up there in Pitt, all bets are off, but this is a neutral area, so...my point is that there is a difference in fans, some just lack class, and some fan bases seem to attract the classless. GO RAVENS!

I am far from surprised. I have a great time every time I go and that is coming from a Day One Season Ticket Holder that has only missed two games. After all this time, I still love going.

I live in Rockville, MD and have MD Ravens affinity plates.  I go to a Ravens bar in Arlington and its being slowly taken over by Steelers fans who probably moved here when the mills started closing in Pittsburgh.  If a female Steelers fan every dinged my door, I'd tell her "I got the right team, but now you're dealing with the wrong person"
