Would suck if we took the swap with San fran Thinking they are going qb And they throw a curveball and swipe the guy we were Going for. we would obviously have several options to fall back on But would still be shocking and catch us off guard.

Wow, yeah ... I never really thought of that possibility. I stated it as if we could trust anyone's intentions in a swap like that. So, that trade with SF only works if the trade is made in good faith, but there is no such thing. I stand corrected on the comment that we'd risk nothing on a trade like that.

I'm sure there would be some sort of gentlemens agreement on who SF would select.

THIS won't happen this year because one of those teams will take RG3 and won't have a need to draft a QB.

Yeah not all of them are going to go the draft route, however I'm sure that Cleveland and Dallas will.  That's all that matters to me really, a trade back would be nice but if both of those teams take a qb then we will have one of the top prospects right in our crosshairs. Between Bosa, Tunsil, Ramsey, Buckner, and depending how things go maybe spence. St. Louis might go the draft route as well but I think San Fran and philly might do some shopping in FA.

There's probably too many moving parts, and maybe we just need a quarterback thread.  But I'm not sure how much RGIII really changes the draft.  I see Houston, St. Louis, Philly, and Cleveland all need starting QBs.  Dallas needs a future starter, SF probably will need a starter.  Denver and Washington possibly could if contract negotiations go crazy, but that's less likely.

Griffin will be available for sure.  But what offense on that list does he really help?  Maybe Chip Kelly and SF?  But do you really go from Kaepernick to Griffin and call that a solution?

Jerry Jones would love to stick it to the Redskins and put RG3 behind that great o-line.

Possibly, but I don't think he's gonna be able to pass up on Wentz and the opportunity to mold his own guy from scratch and get another Romo-esque franchise Qb. Plus there's the cost factor.  I'm sure he would rather dish out some peanuts and get a young guy for the next 4-5 years to groom behind romo as opposed to handing out a pretty penny for another qb who often gets injured.

Wentz is all everybody's talking about and he Wowed everybody at the senior bowl. He's gonna skyrocket up most boards the closer we get to the draft.

Jerry Jones would love to put COUSINS behind that great o-line.  I don't think Cousins wants to wait a year or two behind Romo, but he's an UFA.

Cousins is a lock for a Redskins contract. The skins will ride or die with Kirk Cousins this year .

Depends on the contract negotiations.  I'm sure his agent will listen to other offers.  He could make sense for teams that are in more of a "win-now" mode:  plenty of years left in his career, but already has playoff experience.  I'm sure the Eagles would love him.  Probably the Browns, too.

Edit:  I mean, yes, I think the Redskins are by far the most likely team to have Cousins next season.  Cut RGIII, get all his money back from the cap, hit Cousins with the franchise tag, and negotiate.  But if we're talking about how Jerry Jones (or the Eagles) could best screw with Washington, it's disrupting that process.  Maybe Washington has to pay too much, maybe it drives a wedge between Cousins' camp and the front office.   There's no harm in trying.

They wont be able to mess with the process until he is a FA which I don't see that happening.  I agree with you about them franchising him, let him prove one more year then they will try to work out a long term deal if he is worth it.

That's an 18 million dollar tag for Cousins and it would be wise to get him locked in before FA. The skins need 0 line help  and RG3 will leave some dead money.
