The rams would not trade 2 round2 picks along with a round1 for the ravens pick. The QBs are very solid but not that kind of good for a move up that costs 2 round2 picks as well as the round1. Would be cool but that is very wishful thinking. Most rams would give up is one of the roumd2 picks with their round1.

Thank you for a voice of reason from within the real world.

Just on the points value of this hypothetical trade the Ravens would be ahead BUT this would result in the Ravens having 12 picks and leaving the Rams with 4. Simple mathematics.

Other additional factors/speculations are but not limited to: The Ravens and Rams loathe each other. The Rams have many holes to fill: LT, WR, CB's and DE. The Ravens would not make a trade out of a top ten draft pick for two 2nd rounder, why? Well a top ten pick is priceless and the trade value chart is meaningless. To trade into a top ten spot you need to bring another future first rounder into the equation. In addition, the Ravens have only one first rounder that is sure thing for next year from the previous three drafts-not good. Another huge point is the Ravens have hit home runs with top ten picks excluding TT. Out of pure specualtion you can say is any of these QB's really worth this move? None of them are a Cam Newton, Jameis, or Manning...

A top ten pick is not priceless, especially not this year.  A Top 3 pick might be, maybe.  But a top 10 is only a few percentage points more likely to work out than middle or late in the first round.  It's only necessary if a team thinks there's someone they absolutely must have.  We probably don't have any one player like that.  The Rams really could.  So it's worth discussing.

My simple mathematics might be off, but wouldn't they have 6 picks left?  Currently they have 8, if we did the trade and got their 2 2nd and swap first rounders that leaves them with 6.  Even if we take their future first rounder which I don't think anyone said that...they would have 5.  Where does the 4 come from?

*I might be able to correct myself, the Rams only had 7 picks this year to begin with...

He can't cut Kap with a bloated cap hit and survive the media frenzy, dead money implications etc.

It's about to get hot in San Fran. Chips era isn't getting off to a smooth transition. They will have to name starter, bench him, or find a trade partner. I just hope it's not the Rams currently that takes the bait. I think Cleveland may make a play for him as I think that was the intent with Johnny Nothing so Far. They could work a deal if the Brown Bags eat some of the cap/salary or have him restructure his contract to get out of dodge.

It's been said many times but San Francisco can cut Kaepernick as of now and it wouldn't effect their cap all that much. He doesn't have to commit to him long term because Kaepernick hasn't shown he's a franchise QB anymore, he could still draft Goff or Wentz with Kaepernick here which wouldn't be a bad idea.

Then I stand corrected. I hadn't heard that at all. And completely agree with th assumption that Kap may not be answer any way. I will say that he seemed to be Chips type of guy via the hire, fit, etc.

Crazy thought.  Isn't Sam Bradford a free agent?  Does anyone value Bradford more than Chip Kelly seemed to?

His health or injury history has to concern teams.

I completely agree.  But I think it should have concerned Chip Kelly BEFORE last year.   I got the impression it didn't.  So I'm curious to see if that's a "solution" to the situation he has in SF.  No other team mind you, but possibly SF.

No, They have 6. The first rounders would wash and they would fork over their two 2nd rounders. I don't believe they will be awarded a compensatory pick. They coughed up a pick for Keenum and forfeit another with a selection in 2015 supplemental draft. The Givens deal is for a future consideration.

I agree and disagree. I agree that I don't think it's reasonable to expect LA to surrender all their picks until the third round in one draft. That'll hurt. I do think a trade involving their 2016 1 & a 2nd with a 2017 1st is the likeliest trade we'd both pursue. They'll also likely get multiple comp picks next year that they can trade, which makes this more likely they trade their future first next year.

I may be wrong but I don't recall listing a future 1st, and if I did it was just a "wouldn't that be cool?" type of mentioning.

2 2nd rounders this year is absolutely plausible though, and the rams could see it as a very worthwhile investment for a franchise qb, they know all they really need is a qb, and they have the perfect ammo, throw in those seconds this year to get you don't have to feel the pain of mortgaging your future in the 2017 draft.

I think it's more likely they trade a future first and one of their seconds this year since that'll limit talent they can add around their new QB. I think they keep a second and would rather surrender a future first.

I think a lot of people can agree that it wouldn't be smart of San Fran to not think of a plan B for a guy that has been sub-par for the past two seasons.

Their #15 and a 2nd and a 1st next year is the only trade I'd persue, to me two 2nd rounders isn't worth it in this draft, but 2 first rounders next year puts us in position for someone like Myles Garrett or even Fournette. Heck the Rams could even still tank with their new QB and we could end up with a top 10 pick in 2017.

Yea if the Ravens were to trade I'd rather them get a 1st round pick for next year. As of right now I wouldn't know how far back we would have to get for that asking price, but I see a team like Houston who is QB needy and team and the absolute downfall for their season was awful QBs. They've got a good defense and DeAndre Hopkins so this biggest missing piece is QB. Their draft pick (#22) IMO is not a reflection of their record. They were 9-7 and their division wasn't great this year. Andrew Luck was out more many games and the Jags are making great progress and that was without the 3rd overall pick. Below is the link to the Texans schedule and I think the Texans are an option that have been slept on regarding trade options. If we did make this trade I feel like it would look great this time next year

My sentiments exactly, although they could do very well in a division that's slowly getting weaker. Could go either way but I'd take a 2017 1st round, 32nd overall over a 2016 2nd rounder.

I think O'Brien would rather take the QB he knows, personally. That's almost too obvious a connection, though

Kaepernick vocally wants out of SF, citing the front office as a problem to him, he Reportedly doesn't trust the organization and is still bitter about them running harbaugh out of town, and with a totalitarian coach like Kelly he may feel uneasy, and I can't say I blame him.

The more vocal he becomes about this, the more our trade value rises, if all of this becomes a headline then suddenly we have tons of options. Without a bosa or Ramsey available at 6th, then our top goal should be to trade back for the rams 2 second rounders.

I think the obvious target there becomes spence, then with 3 second rounders, just imagine the haul... A first 2 rounds consisting of spence, and Then with our original 2nd we can go strictly bpa and grab who ever may have fell, possibly a Corey Coleman, kevin dodd, shaq lawson, and Then later on with our new picks we can possibly land some combination of boyd, fuller, and maybe a Jason spriggs or eli apple.

This news on kaepernick is huge and I hope this plays itself out in our favor, this team could use a break like this.

That sounds sooooo good ! I hope they come knocking !

Curious; how many years ahead can two teams plan to make a trade?  In other words, would it be possible to ask for a 2nd round pick in 2017 as well as 2018 draft along with their first this year?  Just an example.  Anybody?

As many as they want. The Redskins traded three years of first round picks for RG3.

I'd almost rather get 2 second round picks and a fifth this year as opposed to 1 second and a first next year. But that's just the impatient me talking , and with all picks being tradeable next year along with  having two first rounders would be pretty awesome. Esp if st Louis bombs and loses 12 games. Then we'd be looking at a bright bright future and a replacement for forsett with fournette. Just sounds fitting.

Call me crazy.. But I'd take cook in the teens over fournette in the top 10 all day. I may even like cook better period...

I wouldnt Call that crazy at all. The further the year Went along I actually started to sour on fournette a bit And he started to slow down when he faced Top defenses. But they pretty much had to stack the box every single play in order to shut him down..which wouldnt Necessarily fly in the nfl with A Team that actually had a passing game and could make defenses pay for that. Im admittedly not The best at scouting players but i like cook alot Too.

when teams need a qb, they dont care about value, more often than not they just take their guy and the last remaining one in the first round either falls to the top of the 2nd or goes to the highest bidder, if there are 3 first rounders in this draft and the top 2 are gone by 6, then there will be a bidding war for the final guy, because you have SF, NO, PHI, and LA, who will all want that last guy.

i think the guy we need to slip to us is goff, we need to see wentz and lynch go to cleveland and dallas, respectively, i think goff is going to be very highly valued by both SF and LA, one because goff is a prototype qb for chips system, and LA because they need a flashy pick at QB and they would love to keep him in cali to generate some hype. goffs quick release style also seems to work well for sean paytons offense as well, not sure about philly though..

i think if 2 qb's go before us then there will be some high stakes phone calls going on about our pick

Cleveland and Dallas going QB will be the dream scenario. If that happens, we'll definitely look hard at a trade, but i think we'll be driving a hard bargain, particularly if we have a tier 1 player available at 6 who we know won't fall to the spot we drop back to. Still, it gives us the best opportunity to make the most of our position.

Who knows ... we could even make a trade with SF and still get the guy we want. SF won't likely give up a ton, but could give us something to ensure we don't let anyone else jump them. We'd get a free pick, as we'd be risking absolutely nothing.

Every time. I think jalen mills is a PERFECT 3rd rounder for us, but of course he's in the same boat... I wish these players could learn to stop beating on people/women

Yep. Not to mention we're borderline too early picking this year's guys, let alone 2017 class.

I really hope he ends up innocent because he's my choice for first round pick next year assuming we have a decent season. Smith Schuster and Garrett are my guys if we have another nightmare season

I wouldn't hold my breath on him - it's not the first time he's been in trouble. There were some serious issues involving firearms previously (it's mentioned towards the end of that article).

Would suck if we took the swap with San fran Thinking they are going qb And they throw a curveball and swipe the guy we were Going for. we would obviously have several options to fall back on But would still be shocking and catch us off guard.
