Some things has to do with race but that's always gonna be there. Every team is gonna get cocky though when your the most dominant team, every team has done it. I have no problem with it and to me Cam just wants to have fun

Frankly I detested Cam Newton and his antics vehemently. I thought he was an immature kid who got too much too soon. However, he's grown on me over the last year or so. Now, I see an exuberant and supremely confident young man who wears his emotions on his sleeve. Wow, that is still the same person and how winning can change our perception of anybody is staggering. I am being self- critical when I say I am a hypocrite like millions of other NFL fans who choose to see what they want to see. Same exact scenario plays out with our own Joe Flacco among NFL fans. They see who they want to see based on fueled perception.

I am sorry but the NFL is becoming water down... I am a firm believer if you don't want your opponents celebrating the End Zone... then its your job to stop me... as long as its not insensitive... I am all for it... I miss the creativity that came from athletes...

As kids participating in youth sports, we were always told no matter the outcome, just have fun.

Why should that premise be lost just b/c that kid has grown up and now plays in the NFL?

Ditto that was perfectly said.

People criticize the criticism of Cam Newton far more than people actually criticize Cam Newton. It's obvious why. They're trying to create a picture of racial disparity. Many people who claim to fight racism are actually trying(successfully) to create it. It gives them something to preach against and it keeps people interested in their articles and stories.

Agreed and if not mistaken... our 2000 team was pretty damn cocky also. Like another member said; if you don't want them to celebrate... beat them on the scoreboard

And back in the day a lot of players were show boats and were loved for it.

People only care about guys being flashy or showoffs if they play on other teams. If it's a player on a team you like then it's called 'swagger' or something like that and people suddenly love it.

Can't I just dislike him, because he rubs me the wrong way? I kind of like Suh, eventhough I probably shouldn't. I don't know why suddenly everyone needs a good reason to not like someone.

IF you look for approval from everyone else your certain to fail to live up to their expectations. Cam can be whoever he wants and does not need to justify it to anyone but himself. Same for anyone else. But always keep in mind you are also always accountable for you actions, so govern yourselves in a way that does not bring shame and disgrace and there will be no problems.

The only thing I can criticize is "dabbing." It's very ironic to me that Cam is hailed as a role model while doing a dance move that stems from coughing from actual marijuana "dabbing." He should have stuck with the Superman move for his celebrations. He is only helping child awareness (I know this "dance" did not originate with Cam) to what real "dabbing" is. This is coming from someone with plenty of experience with the substance and understands its time and place.

Not Kuechly. That kid is the anti cam. Very mature for his age. No dancing when he scores. And he has scored plenty.

Living an hour from Charlotte, I've seen a lot of cam over the years. Pouting when they're losing and it's all about me when they're winning. I believe it was a game last year when cam was celebrating in the end zone and over his shoulder you could see one of his lineman on the ground in pain with all his teammates around him. Except for the one dancing in the end zone. I like the comparison to him and the kardashians.

Yep. Just imagine if Ray Lewis had been a Steeler. Oh how we would have loathed him.

What do you call him running around after the touchdown hi-fiving fans until the guy fell out of the stands. I live in NC and been to a couple of games and see how Kuechly acts on the sideline just like everyone else.

People are going to always hate, when they're not comfortable with a situation or comfortable with a certain person. If you're not from our culture then you wouldn't understand Cam Newton. What makes Peyton right and Cam wrong? Is it you can relate to Peyton and not Cam? These are the question you need to ask yourself when you criticize Cam. I can accept that, but I can't accept you feel that he's cocky, disrespectful or brash, what is he suppose to be? What you want him to be? Why is it that some people are always trying to put people in a box on how they think things should be? Move forward and not backwards.

The media says Joe Flacco is too plain, and Cam Newton is too animated.....seriously, who cares indeed! Cam can be cocky, he is going to the SB......if it's not Brady or Big Ben, the media will dump on them. GO RAVENS!

It's just a shame that it comes down to black or white players and not just what good athletes they are. Newton does tend to rub the wrong way but that is just the way he is. I wish him luck but I would like to see Kubiak win the big one.

Colin kaepernick is black? Huh thought he was of spanish descent or something. Anyway Cam is CAMvp, I frankly don't care what he does on or off the field (As long as its legal anyway) let the man play HE wants.

I doubt this would be as much of a controversy if the Panthers were doing this after a string of dominant seasons. Some may see it as 'you're showing this much for just one season of success?' I personally won't have a problem with it as long as they don't return to garbage next season. But if they do.........

Players who show their enthusiasm, joy and love of the game make watching football more enjoyable for me. However, there are times when Cam and other players are a bit over the top for me in the ego department.

To me, the guy is annoying. I like players to act as if they have done it before; leave the childish antics to the children. No doubt, he is good but his act just annoys me. I understand that I may be in a minority on this as the younger generation really adores this sort of thing but I just tend to cheer for the guys that understand the power of humility and the meaning of being humble. I miss the old days when a guy scores a touchdown and hands the ball to the ref instead of going into a minute long, orchestrated "dance" or whatever it is they do. I'll be cheering for Paton Manning and the Broncos for the Super Bowl. I'd even cheer for the Steelers if they were playing. Please Mr. Newton, grow up.

Not liking, or disagreeing, is hate?
