Arthur Brown - Is his time up?

Marlon Brown comes to mind.

I think that was pointed at guys we've kept around in recent years that would show potential but never quite put it together.

Asa Jackson, David Reed, Jah Reid, Tandon Doss, and Terrance Cody are the type of guys that come to mind.

On the current roster I can only think of Marlon Brown, Camp if he can't stay healthy, Arthur Brown, and Kapron Lewis-Moore.

If in 2-3 years they player can't stay healthy or make any progression then they're not helping the team.

Who hurts more, Arthur Brown or Sergio Kindle? ?

Kindle by a landslide. He had difference making talent.

Weve found other MLB's in Mosley and Smith who have been great starters at that position.

We haven't found a stud pass rusher and it's arguably the biggest need on the team.

Also the fact that Kindle had a freak accident and we never even got to see what he could have been.... Man, still hurts.

He never studied the playbook and was always out partying. He would have never done anything in the NFL if he hadn't been injured.  Why do people continue to blame it on his injury completely?

Neither one hurts us that much.   Sergio Kindle fell to the second round because of character issues.  His lack of performance due to off-field issues was predicted by other teams.    Arthur Brown was not a late second round pick because of his lack of size and not being that good.  I guess they are just lessons learned for the scouts and Ozzie and company of what not to do.  No use crying over spilled milk.  Move on and don't make the same mistakes again.

He was injured before training camp and was immediately placed on Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. After that he had permanent head and hearing issues.

And he was arrested twice for DWI/DUI, once in 2006 or 2007 and again in December 2010, both before being drafted by the Ravens. What evidence is there that he constantly partied or refused to learn the playbook once drafted?

Dude was by far the most talented 3-4 OLB in that draft and probably wouldve been a top 10-15 pick if not for the DUIs. Dude missed his entire rookie year with a fractured skull and permanent hearing loss. Had he been healthy he would have played. With that much talent, he would have contributed in our D with guys like Lewis, Ngata, Reed and Suggs to guide him.

It just didnt work out. He already had neurological issues; combine that with a serious head injury and of course it was tough for him to ever be the same guy again.

It's way overdue at this point he should have been traded or cut last offseason. Especially considered in an injured filled losing season Arthur Brown still couldn't receive playing time. Could have at least got him some game footage to draw trade interest.

I think he will be given a shot to compete with Orr for the starting job, as I do believe there is a good chance Daryl Smith is cut this year. I don't think we'll outright hand the job to Orr. It wouldn't cost any to keep him for a camp battle.

He'll probably get a shot in TC but I expect he doesn't even  make the roster based on where he is at this point honestly.

The only "project" worth keeping is Darren Waller, I would move on from Arthur Brown.

I would add Tray Walker to that project list as well.  A 6'-3" CB would be a great addition.

I agree dude, homers see him as an futiure all pro that got Injured. Keep in mind he was not savvy or smart, never worked and was dumb as a rock. And it is not like he was von Miller explosive.

our draft that year was horindas. Two busts in the the first two picks cannot happen ever again. This year Ozzie gets us our next hall of fame player.

Athur Brown if given the chance will compete with another undrafted linebacker.   More likely than not, he'll lose again by a mediocre limited ILB.

He'll show a small flash vs a very bad opponent @ preseason #3 in 4th quarter and sad folks will clammer for him one more than to get 'another chance'.  Except this time, he wont waste 53 roster space this year.

Typical year in year out story of Arthur Brown.

Because the one and only concern scouts had about him was his health, hence why he fell to us in the first place. Other than that, there is no reason to believe a guy with that size and talent would not have made an impact

Too bad because I had high hopes

Unfortunately you are probably right. This guy is one of the fastest linebackers in the NFL and is a good enough open field tackler. He probably doesn't wanna be here as he cant motivate himself in practice. Either that or he's just too dumb to get an NFL playbook.

Im also starting to hear that fat lady sing. If brown plays well then he'll probably break our hearts and leave next year. If he continues to do what he's already done. He'll just hold a roster spot all year and we will be forced to lose someone that may actually help this team. We already have fifty plus players under contract.

just trade this guy for a bag of peanuts for all I care! I'm done defending him and dreaming of him starting along with Mosley when D.Smith rides off to the sunset.

With Daryl being cut, it's now or never for Arthur, unless we draft Myles Jack, Brown is being handed a starting job on a silver platter, all he has to do is beat out a former UDFA in Orr.

Looks like Arthur Brown is going to get a chance to earn a starting role. Unless of course we draft Jack. Then no one has a shot at a starting job for at least the next 5-10 years.

I don't know how to feel considering now we have no linebackers who can cover.  Smith was old but was still producing

They took Smith off the field a lot for passing situations last year. Orr started logging quite a bit of time in his place. He was still producing, but I also think it was clear they were slowly phasing him out.

I know but he still was one of my favorite players, i hate this time of year.  Anyway, we have to add someone who can cover RBs and TEs, I like Orr I do and i have high hopes for him but he is more of the thumper Im hoping Mosley improves because he was exposed a lot last year

Man, I had high hopes for Arthur Brown. I feel like if he didn't show any signs of development this years with all the injuries then we won't get anything more out of him from here. But cutting him won't provide much cap relief and he's not so terribly bad that he wouldn't be worth 1 mil to have as a backup.
