[News] Scouting The Senior Bowl 2016: Pass Rushers

17 posts in this topic

Boy do we need to pick up a decent pass rusher in this draft. If Ramsey is available I would scratch off CB first and then in round two I would take the best available player between either OT or pass rusher, if we do not resign KO during FA.

No way Spence makes it out of the 1st. he has already shown maturity by staying in college instead of entering the draft, seeking help and staying clean. If Ramsey, Bosa or Mckenzie are gone, I'd love to trade back and get spence. Pick up someone like fuller in the 2nd/3rd.

A serious pass rush covers up a multitude of shortcomings elsewhere in the defense. This is where the Ravens need most to improve.

I wish Buckner hadn't skipped the Senior bowl, I wanted to get a better look at him. But aside from Joey Bosa, we should have our pick of the top pass rushers in this class, and unless it's a left tackle I don't see any other position that would be as valuable for us going forward. Corners, safeties, wide receivers often take years to really start going in their careers, but a great D-lineman, like Suggs or Ngata, can be great from year one and be a cornerstone of your defense for a decade or more.

i agree with you but jalen ramsey is rated higher than every pass rusher aside from bosa and is a day one starter if all goes as planned at either cb or safety. i cannot see the fo passing on ramsey for any pass rusher unless it is bosa.

More reasons for the ravens to possibly trade back and grab more picks. These guys could be a serious impact for our defense. Imagine Oakman and ZaDarius backing up Doom and Suggs. Better yet, imagine Rankins coming in for Williams during long passing downs. Timmy, Rankins, and Urban with Suggs and Doom rushing the passer sounds like what our pass rush needs to really get after the passer. If Ramsey is gone, I say move back. We can still get Eli Apple, Vernon H, or another highly ranked DB in the middle of the 1st round while grabbing a possible second and/or 3rd round picks.

Perfect world we would get Ramsey in the 1st, Noah Spence in the 2nd and Oakman in the 3rd... I will be happy with any of them, as long as we draft smart this year we have a chance to stay at the top of the Division. But one more average draft and we will be fighting the Browns for last place again..

I like Kaufusi if he lasts until round 3. IDK maybe even in round two. I like Travis Feeney- OLB -WASH better! but would be happy to see either one of these guys become a Raven (BTW Kaufusi reminds me of Paul Krueger in the way that he moves) Not a bad pick... Nassib is a beast and love the way he plays... he has consistently gotten better at Penn State in spite of the fact that he has been through a ton of adversity with coaching changes and new systems added... and his framed filled out over that time frame. (as he continues to add strength and agility to that frame he can be a monster at the next level). Finally- I think Oakman could be a superstar... He had all the tools at Penn State as well.... I think there was more to the off the field issue that led to his transfer but if his off the field issues are in check -there is no doubting his talent...as he used to start in front of Nassib!

Oakman has skinny ankles and small body type. May not hold up an entire year. I like Kaufusi better.

Skinny ankles? Lol how the hell do you know that?

I keep forgetting about Ramsey.  He'd be a great pick also, but like I said he'd probably not look like a player worthy of a top-10 selection until year 2-3 given the difficulty of transition for D-backs from college to the NFL.  The one big question mark I have about Ramsey is that he had so few INTs in college, and we badly need a guy in the back end who's a threat to take the ball away either from a sack or an INT.

To Joe Knows in ref to your quote about my comment on Oakman, the scouts and analyst made of mention of same during the practice sessions for The Senior Bowl. If you were watching and checked him out, his ankles are skinny and very noticable.
