Last mock until combine

26 posts in this topic

Round 1

1. Titans- Laremy Tunsil LT. Not keeping Mariota upright ended his season, I think it will be addressed.

2. Browns- Jared Goff QB. I want to say the Browns won't go QB, but how they are dealing with Johnny football. I think history repeats itself.

3. Chargers- Ronnie Stanley LT. As Rivers nears his end they need to keep him healthy.

4. Cowboys- Myles Jack LB. Sean Lee and Mcclain cant stay on the field. I see Jacks stock rising after combine.

5. Jaguars- Joey Bosa DE. With Tunsil and Stanley off the board Jax just goes BPA.

6. Ravens- Laquan Treadwell WR. He's grown on me. However I would prefer other players, I can see Ozzie jumping on Treadwell. That way if Perriman isn't what we hoped he makes up for it with a pretty safe pick in Treadwell.

Round 2- Kendall Fuller CB. I think he's going to be a solid starter.

Round 3-  Yannick Ngakoue DE/OLB. He's projected to be there, but to be safe we might want to trade back in.

Round 4- Eric Striker LB. He could be an interesting prospect at ILB. He's undersized, but insanely athletic. The Buchanon experiment worked in Arizona. Striker could be a similar type guy and could possibly be the heir.

Round 4(trade)- Cyrus Jones CB.

Round 4(Comp)- Evan Boehm C.

Round 5(Comp)- Adam Gostis DE/DT

Treadwell to the ravens has picked up major amounts of hype among almost ALL draftnik outlets. Lots of folks on the boards, lots of draft sites are all projecting it. I'm not sure I see it happening though, I think there are a lot of guys Ozzie would take over treadwell there

Yeah I don't disagree. I'd like a few other players over Tread personally, but I've just got a feeling.

Are you thinking we are resigning KO, no guard was taking in the mock draft plus no safeties pick

Also what happened to the second 4th comp

i think we find a way to resign KO, but if not I think Center is a bigger need than guard. I'd much rather have Urschel at guard. honestly I forgot about the Torrey comp.

I have a hard time getting on board with Treadwell.  I like this guy but I don't see him as an elite prospect, while many of the other guys available would have that quality for me.

Urcshel And Jensen both played well I think either could fill in and S we have to many now we are projecting Hill at SS with Elam backing up and Webb at FS with Brooks backing up plus that still leaves Lewis in the mix. I like Bush from Miami as a ball hawk and Thompson from Boise St other than that I'm not super impressed with a lot of he safeties

I like Treadwell a lot but I think 2nd-3rd round there will be plenty of WRs available Boyd has been my favorite all season as a polished possession type WR I have been super impressed with Braxton Miller at the senior bowl and Shepard from Oklahoma I still think we need pass rush badly I have been on the Spence bandwagon from the beginning and have seen him dominate the senior bowl although I think 6 Is to high I'm hoping with Wentz rocking the senior bowl that a team will try to jump the 49ers if they are possibly looking at QB and we can move bad just a little bit

I've noticed that as well. If Bosa, Tunsil and Ramsey are all gone by 6, I think Ozzie takes Tread over anyone else. He's the perfect fit for this offense.

i like treadwell, and even if he runs a 4.6 i still call him a top half talent, and i like him for this team specifically, we need a guy who plays as savvy and physical as he does, im not calling him the next boldin because i dont think we need that nor do i think he is that kind of receiver, but a keenan allen type of wr who is physically rock solid but also incredibly savvy, smart, and refined, would be a huge boost for an offense that needs something other than big wingspan TEs.

however... no way we pass on ramsey for treadwell, even if you arent a fan of ramsey, you have to admit that ozzie will buy into that hype and take him. id be pretty upset if we passed on ramsey or buckner for treadwell.

I'm sorry but I can't buy Striker as a ILB, he just doesn't fit. He isn't great against the run, he isn't great in coverage, athleticism is great and all but I'd rather take a guy with some experience and tools to take it on. Striker's learning curve would be really steep. I don't think the Bucannon comparison is right, at least with Bucannon they were getting a SS/LB hybrid, meaning he had the speed and coverage skills right away and he was known already as a hard hitter coming in, Striker isn't known for any of those things. If he's taken as a ILB he's a big project and I'd rather not take such a big project in the 4th. I don't mind projects but when the guy is not only switching position but doesn't seem to show exactly what you want right away I am very hesitant, at least with last year's 4th rounder Walker he didn't have to switch position and has the intangibles to maybe develop.

the only one I might include on that list is Buckner. But yeah no way Ozzie takes treadwell if Ramsey is on the board. I like the rest a lot. I just don't think jack will go that high and I'm almost convinced the Cowboys will take wentz unless the Browns grab him first. But I'd be real happy with treadwell , fuller, yannick, striker, and jones. Very solid. My ideal scenario would be Ramsey - trade up to get spence..sterling Sheppard ..Thompson ..Dahl and jones then we'd have to pick up an ILB in FA.

I have Treadwell ranked higher than Buckner on my big board so I'm a bit bias. But yea, I would take Ramsey over Treadwell but of course it all hinges on what we do in free agency. I'm eying those two at six though I think Ramsey might be a top three pick, and could even go number one. But Treadwell and Yannick in the same draft would really be a boost for our roster.

I like Treadwell a lot, but if we do go all the way with him, then he better be an elite WR in the future. That's how I feel. I would be fine with the pick though.

Whoever we get at 6 pretty much needs to be damn near elite for us. We really need to hit this pick now more than ever. Here's a hypothetical question for you.. ..would you rather stay at 6 and get one dominant elite game changing player ; or trade back and get several efficient players that all can contribute immediately and be solid depth?

Give me a game changer.  We're missing that type of player and hoarding picks won't do us much good.  We need quality, not quantity.

I like him a lot and I don't mind, I just hope that at pick number 6, he's an elite prospect.

Not to mention we all know we can't get something ridiculous like 10 players in the first 3 rounds over the next 2 years and realistically be able to sign more than just a few of them if they pan out. We will never have the contract room to hoard high picks like that

Agreed. We can get solid depth later in the draft, FA, or in future drafts. But the defense is missing that big game changer right now. Someone like a young Suggs, Ray, or Reed.

This draft is to rich in Linebackers to buy one in free agency when there is better in the draft. Spence will go top15 so there is no trading back into round 1 to get him. Ravens trade down a couple slots and grab him or he is not realistic. Like Sterling Shepherd idea. Not as big a fan of Buckner as most. I would take Sheldon Rankins b4 him in .04 seconds!!

In this situation, I would take Ramsey over Tread. I like Fuller in the second, but I don't think Yannick will last until the 3rd. Would be great though.

Overall I really like it, except for Striker, I just don't see him translate to the next level. There will be other interesting ILB in the 4th that I would take before him.

Big fan of Eric Striker. Love his ability to be small but can show enough power and speed to beat tackles around the corner. You put him next to CJ and you will have a seriously dangerous pass defending line-backing core, as well as a pretty good inside blitzer, for years to come. Also love Treadwell. The idea of having a proven pass catcher teamed with possibly the fastest WR from last years draft would be a nightmare for defenses when you add SSS coming back. Honestly, I see Oz trading back for more picks, so maybe we get  a WR in the 2nd round. Back when we drafted Flacco, we almost traded down to the end of the draft before coming back to the middle to grab #5. Maybe we do that again this year. There is cornerstone talent in the top 15 this year but there is also high ceiling talent all over the 2-3 rounds. This is where OZ will do his most damage and rebuilding our aging positions with youth and speed.
