[News] Late For Work 1/29: Odds Ravens Make It To Super Bowl LI

38 posts in this topic

It is so sad to me that these guys have to sell their rings.  That is something that I would treasure for life, and look forward to showing my children, grandchildren, and even great grandchildren.  They make a lot of money for a short time, but in the long run, it seems that people with a nice, long 40-year career prospect end up in better shape financially.

Awful lot of people saying that. Wonder if the "powers to be" on this website are listening or even care. Doubt it!

Yeah, somebody laid out a lot of money for a new design and software, and they are not going to go backwards.  But there is a lot of truth to the old saying:  "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Moderator 3, and Moderator 2, and All the rest of the "head honchos" running this website; Have you all been reading just how many complaints from So many people that have made this website so successful have been written? And the reason that you gave us is that"all the other teams are going to this format". So what?!? Why don't you just listen to your posters and scrap this terrible idea. It's even worse when we learn that your reason is to "follow the crowd". Give us back what most of us prefer. Who is this website for, you or the Ravens fans?

We hear your complaints loud and clear, but please note:

The moderators have nothing to do with the software design and implementation.  That is totally at a higher pay grade.  :-)

We HAD to move up to the newer release since the one we were on is obsolete and no longer stable or supportable.   Our choice was to upgrade or die.  Once complete and fully debugged, this new version WILL be faster and more stable.

When we mentioned other teams going to this format, it's because it's true.  See the Colts site for an example.  They were the beta site for the rollout.  The NFL wants consistency across the team sites.

Please continue being patient while we all adjust to this change.

Thank you

@RavenManiac#7, @Bat-mite, @MaineRavenFan, @bioLarzen, @sami, @ellicottraven, @BmoreB (and all the other fans experiencing technical issues with the boards and commenting over the last week)...

We are certainly paying attention to all of your comments. While we might not always reply to each individual post, we're aware of them and the issues you've run into. Our developers have been working hard for the last week to push out bug fixes and updates.

Without getting into the technical details, the technology running our message boards and article commenting was a few years old and was overdue for an update. There are many great features -- specifically pertaining to use on mobile devices and things that will increase the speed of page loads. Unfortunately, the new software isn't playing nicely with a few elements of our website that are controlled by the NFL.

We have reached out to the League and asked them to make these fixes a top priority. Above everything else, we want the login box to appear again in the navigation bar at the top of all pages. We believe we have a fix for that which may be rolled out tonight.

We apologize for all the trouble you've experienced. Please know that your comments have not fallen on deaf ears and we are doing everything we get to get everything resolved. Thank you very much for your patience during this time!

Just to keep you updated, it now looks like the update for the login box will be pushed live Wednesday morning (before lunchtime).

Thank you Admin 3 for paying attention. Now we'll just wait for the fixes so that we can continue with mindless football conversation!
