[News] Late For Work 1/29: Odds Ravens Make It To Super Bowl LI

Team spirit is important in winning. And being submerged in collective emotion to build a collection. Whoever's been on a team and spent the night before a game as a team, it can be pretty powerful.

Braxton Miller has looked good and I wouldn't mind him here. I just wonder how hindered our offense would be with two raw guys in Miller and Perriman growing up together. They both have high ceilings in the NFL and would learn a lot from Steve Smith, but I am just afraid of raw route running and raw athletic ability to hinder us in some games. I really hope we develop our younger guys fast.

I thought the NFL is now going to use regular numbers, like SB 50? You mean next yr. they`ll be going back to the Roman numerals: LI?

Man, it has taken me three days to figure out how to log in. The login on the main page just disappeared! Found I could log in from the Forums page.

Anyway, I agree with SSS that Carolina will lock this up. Almost became the first team in history to go 19-0.

Wish I had a spare $100 to bet on the Ravens winning SB LI!

I would love to have Braxton Miller on the Ravens team. I live in Ohio and I'm a Buckeye fan and I can tell you Braxton is the consummate team player and a real hard worker. I don't think it would take him long to fit in and I think with him, Perriman and SSS on the field we would "ROCK".

Sometimes redesigning a website can result in torture with simple issues like signing in or posting. The Ravens website has been successful in that torture and I can't understand why they would do it. The website needs to be totally QA tested prior to lauch such that there no such elementary glitches.

The senior bowl is just the first in a bunch of NFL sponsored events that give us a chance to see what college players can do. The real big one is the combine and the reason for that is that certain Teams, GM's and coaches fall in love with speed and the first receiver who runs a 4.35 or a 4.30 or better will see his draft stock skyrocket. For me it is too early to even call anything as the media outlets continue to rank and re-rank players based on everything including bowel movements. At this point in time it is ridiculous other than to just daydream and wish about who we may get. And I am still not convinced Ozzie will pick at 6 as much as he like to trade back for additional picks.

I'm wondering how the Cowgirls got so high on the list of winning the Super Bowl odds. They have been less than mediocre for yrs.

Cowboys at 14-1...LOL that's funny! Odds makers (or anyone else outside of the Baltimore fan base) rarely-to-never give the Ravens any love anyway, not surprised here. In 2012 I think the odds were the same, and the same three rivals were listed to take the AFC. But that's cool.....it's always better to hammer them as the underdog anyway :) GO RAVENS!

my gut is telling me that the fo should not trust the trio of forsett, buck and lorenzo. buck will make for a solid back up but we need a physical all around back like leveon bell. maybe paul perkins out of usc or c.j. procise from notre dame in the 3rd or 4th if available. lorenzo has shown to get injured and which forsett will we get in 2016.

we have all said the same thing about guys like marlon brown and it has never happened. need to draft, trade for or sign a real deal receiver and stop playing games with these posers the fo keeps drafting and signing off the scrap heap

Haha, I see you had the same problem I had a couple of hours ago :)

We are feeing everyone's pain, BUT at least they did not do this 2 days before the draft like a few years ago lol.  All the teams are going to this platform, it just takes some time.

I get a little tired of all the excessive celebrations by all players. I know it is supposed to be entertaining but sometimes enough is enough. Just play football!

Before Ravens had to get by Steelers and Patriots but now you have to throw in Bengals, Chiefs and Broncos 40-1 more like 50-1

Had the same ordeal a few days back ;)

I still think it would be nice if we could login directly from the landing page - but hey, nothing is perfect, right? ;)

With the way the league is going there are very few running backs that are those physical, every down backs. It's smart to actually have a committee and the guys we have can fill roles like what Belichick does on the Patriots. Having an irreplaceable running back like AP or Gurley can backfires when (not if) they get injured. The Vikings run game worked very well when AP was suspended rotating players in on certain downs. If one is injured, another can be replaced cheaply.

I see Allen as a solid future, starting back on this team. He's big and versatile enough to be main ball carrier if he controls his fumbles. West will be more of a bowling ball. I can see Forsett getting used like Darren Sproles. My gut tells me that Taliaferro is on the bubble with his injury history, fumbles and overall lack of success. Maybe he has a better 2016, maybe not, but I don't think he's PS eligible anymore either.

As for Chris Matthews, I see Marlon Brown in the same boat at LT. He'll have to prove it or lose it this off season. Matthews to me is the better WR at this point, Waller is another big receiver that will push them both. If they draft a receiver like Treadwell, at 6-3/220 they'll have yet another big body target competing for targets.

I think the Ravens need to consider Buck Allen as a focus in the spring. Must see what this kid can give them. Can he be a Jamal Lewis type guy? maybe...We might need to let Forsett go to gain some $ back. Buck Allen, Terrance West , a Rookie and possibly a walk-on/or cap casualty might be the Ravens running back core. My opinion is Allan and West have un-tapped talent...they need carries and passes, a lot of them.

Bold prediction: Ravens vs Cowboys in super bowl next year. The Ravens are actually playing in Dallas next season, I want to go so bad! As far as excess celebrating, get your butt back in the huddle and wear out your opponent's defense. That was probably the only good thing about the Eagles.

I tolerate the Cowboys due to my dad and husband being die-hard fans.

Not digging the new format, at all.

Totally with you, BmoreB - I was quite happy with the old format.

Been reading a Lot of people saying this. Add me to the long list of unhappy Ravens fans on this issue. Why? Just tell us why it was necessary to fix something that wasn't broken. Change for change sake? Just what were your problems, moderators, or whoever it was who found it necessary to mess this up. Real bad move.

Been saying this for years. Showboating is immature and is all about oneself, rather than the team. After all, players, all you're doing is what you're being paid to do. If, when I was working my job, doing what I was paid to do, I started dancing, prancing, basically making myself look silly when I finished an assignment, my fellow workers and boss would have thought I was an absolute nut-case. I just wish today's players would show the class that the stars from the past showed. It's like Johnny Unitas once said. "When you get into the end zone act like you've been there before", and "Why act up for just doing what you're being paid to do?" Of course, Johnny Unitas had MUCH more class than almost every player in the league does today. We sure could use more of that today. It would be SO refreshing. Like it or not, players, you Are role models for today's children. It comes with the territory whether you like it or not. It's one of the realities of being an NFL player along with getting the big bucks. It really is sad, and I think it has added to our current society's mindset.

Oh, so That's the reason, because "all the other teams are going to this platform". Well, shame on you, Moderator 2, and everybody else that had a part in this change. Since when have the Ravens done things like every other team? Maybe you guys should have taken a page out of the team's playbook. I have Always hated it when people justify what they do by saying "others do it". Other people rob banks and murder people too. Is that justification for us all to do those things too? You guys should have left it alone. It seems like the vast majority of people on here do Not like the new format. But That doesn't matter, huh? Bad move and Bad reason!

Not digging the new format, at all.

Awful lot of people saying that. Wonder if the "powers to be" on this website are listening or even care. Doubt it!
