In all seriousness, I decided to go with a team that already has a ton of talent instead of going through rebuilds.  I wanted to finally keep a consistent core and just be able to build around that.

Question, besides franchise tagging an UFA, is there any other way to retain them other than through FA?

Think we are using the transition tag as well this year. Not sure if you can use both but you can use that. If someone bids on that player though then it is like RFA where you have to match the highest bid

He's planning on returning last I heard so he is on your team. If you count him as there, make sure he goes into your cap total though. I'm not sure if Spotrac has him accounted for or not.

Can only use either the franchise or the transition tag. Can't use both.

Random off topic, John Harbaugh is in Michigan at the Indiana/Michigan game and was just interviewed on ESPN. He said he had a flight back home with Tom Brady lol. Why @rmw10 did you skip the Patriots and Steelers? That was the plan, force one of those teams to retire half their team.

They were at six or seven on my shortlist. They've got a fair bit of talent and don't have to try and retain half the team in FA.

@Ozzsome I was wondering when someone was going to take the Vikings.  Definitely up there as one of my top options.

 

The Chargers are a mess of a franchise and it should be fun.  I can clear enough room to give me over 50m of salary cap space to work with AND I may need it all. 
I'm going to need as many picks possible to fix this franchise as well.
