PolishRifle first 3 rounds Mock!

10 posts in this topic

I haven't really made my mind up about some of the later picks, but I do feel very good about my top picks in the first 3 rounds. ;)

1. Round Myles Jack (UCLA): Playmaking linebacker with great instincts. (yup, I bought into the Myles Jack hype)

2. Round Josh Doctson (TCU): I love his body control and sure hands.

3. Round Joe Haeg (North Dakota State): Has the potential to be a starter in the NFL, imho.

I think Jack would be a great addition. He alongside CJ would solidify this team's linebacker core. He is so versatile as well. Also if we do not get Jack look to Jaylon Smith in the second round he may fall because of his injury. Both are great players. I am honestly just happy to see a mock without us getting Stanley. I feel like everywhere they project us to pick the Notre Dame left tackle. I do not think that will happen because #1 I believe a contract will be worked out with Kelechi Osemele and #2 I do not see him worth a 6th round pick. If we were picking around 20 like we usually are then sure he would be a nice grab. But he failed to do well when bull rushed. If Tunsil was there then I would pick him in a heartbeat even if we had Kelechi Osemele signed. I could see the Ravens going linebacker especially because Jack is great in space and that would help us against teams such as New England we play next year with those short intermediate routes.

Glad to see people following my mock with Myles going to us, him and CJ would be a great tandem.  I like the docston pick as well

I wouldn't be opposed to getting Smith or Jack at all in the first round. I know, a linebacker wouldn't be a guy we would want in a perfect world but they would do a lot for us.

I like Doctson, was a big fan, still am, but I do like Coleman and Boyd a bit better as of now. I still would be happy with the pick.

Haven't watched Haeg at all, I might get around that soon.

What does Jack weigh now? some reports say 245, some say 225.

Regardless I wouldn't take him at 6, maybe 16.

We won't know until the combine

C.J. and Myles could be our poor man's version of Willis and Bowman. If Z'da and Jernigan make big leaps next season and we get Yannick in the second or sign some proven vets our front 7 is going to be pretty talented. I like the mock and I like Docston as well if Yannick is off the board.

i dont like it. i dont like jack at 6th overall, i dont like doctson, his fadeaway catching style is suspect for a guy who offers nothing more than contested catch ability.

jaelen strong was a better prospect imo. i really liked him because he was putting up RIDICULOUS numbers before his injury but what im seeing the more i look at his film, is just another college guy who runs a straight line and catches overthrown balls.
