[News] Late For Work 1/21: Is Joe Flacco Open To A Contract Restructure? 'Come On, I Want To Win'

67 posts in this topic

Joe is a smart and realistic guy. Joe wants to win and knows it takes $ to field the best team around him. I'm hopeful that Joe's agent has gotten the message loud and clear to get this reasonable deal done without contention or unnecessary delays.

I love our QB. Hopefully Flacco's comments ring true and he pushes Linta to get a team friendly deal done. If he does and can help free up $8-9 mill, it will be huge in helping us hopefully resign KO and land a key FA or 2 in the offseason. Get it done guys.

Marshall Yanda would be deserving of a HOF inclusion. He's not a meteorite player that burns out, but consistently the best or one of offensive lineman in the league.

Agreed.

I prefer to rate drafts after 3 years but without Perriman playing shouldn't expect good grades (time will tell)

Cool that Gilmore is finishing up school

Grats on first female coach but what does the Quality Control-Special teams coach do?

I hope that Joe's agent doesn't become the hinderer on this, because he may believe he has the upperhand in negotiations knowing The Ravens need cap space.

Ray Rice deserves a second chance at a NFL career.

Agreed but at his age it would have to be coaching or something. Seems like there are tons of RBs everywhere

Naturally it wouldn't be said nor is it even like Joe but I would of loved to hear Flacco say if Linta can't get something done I'll find an agent that will  lol

I just finished viewing 4 or 5 recent Ray Rice interviews from the link above. There is no player in the league or NFL representative who comes even close to addressing the domestic violence issue with the clarity, humility, sincerity and openness than Ray Rice. Although I was so disappointed with Ray when his DV incident occurred, I could not be prouder than I am of the way he has manned up and taken on this issue beyond just trying to save his own career and reputation, but he is trying to make a real difference in the lives of others also. I truly respect Ray Rice for publicly facing his humiliation head on, changing his life and dedicating so much effort and concern to put his own failures front and center to make a difference with everyone he can reach. Hats off to Ray, for the man he is determined to become and the perseverance in his efforts to redeem himself.

Love Josh Gordan's talent...but he's needs help... if he hasn't learned from the his previous suspensions prior to his year long suspension for substance abuse... not sure if he'll ever get it... maybe a year away from football is a wake up call... rather see the young man get help even if he plays for the Browns... lol

The Ravens' Brass should take into consideration that Joe excels with good protection. Any money Joe sacrifices for the "team" should directly be spent on his behalf. We won a Super Bowl with our best O line in recent years. All Joe Flacco did was return the favor by playing as good as a great Hall of Famer...Joe Montana

I always have issues w/ comments like this.  Taking the best offer for him and his family means he's not a team player?   The FO can cut anyone still under contract to save money but people never complain about that b/c the FO is doing what's best for the team.

Boom! This is what we like to hear! Joe cool knows what needs to be done. And he sees no way he won't be ready to go at the start of the year. Music to my ears.

Naturally Joe will restructure his contract. I believe that when it is your starting QB and both sides want to stay the player always wins big. Correct me if I'm wrong but while fans were shouting Brady and Rothlisbergers name as team first guys they actually got a huge immediate cash injection as well as a longer contract for more money. Again I may be wrong but I think they will be getting pay checks for years after they retire. Can anyone confirm?

Maybe if we get a female on our staff (in the training room)some of these dudes like Camp/Monroe/Canty would train a little harder and be healthier come opening day. Nothing like a woman to motivate yah into becoming fit and trim lol. Just Saying. ;)

Shoot I'd even give some of there Moms a call. "Junior don't wanna pump no iron today and we need him to put down them them frito's and eat some wheaties", "Come get him", "talk to him", "talk some sense into him", Pleez ! lol

Coming here would straighten him out with the quickness. I believe that leadership involves an element of helping those find a successful path in there endeavors and to be a true leader you don't take the easy path, but the one that someone may find difficult. It's easy to say your a leader but if your subjects are following the path already then whom are you leading. Not a damm sole. I'm confident in our psych evaluations process as we haven't had the multitude of problems that other organizations have encountered and they would be able to glean into what he'd have to offer and gauge the risk accurately. Showing faith in the rehab process requires accountability and trust. I think I'd drink too if I was getting my body beat up without realistically being able to obtain my anticipated goals. I think JG really likes to win as his play on the field does nothing but suggest that. Being in a dysfunction environment like Cleveland seems to breed malcontents. SSSr has been nothing but a hard working team player with the same probably mis-understood personality he came here with. It's funny how some players are awarded second chances by the league, talking heads, organizations and fans and some aren't. But really it's not funny.

How profound Ravenpic! The struggle getting LOT Bryant McKinnie into shape for the playoffs to guard Joe's blind side was worth the price. McKinnie wasn't worth keeping although KO IMO is.

Talk is cheap until Joe's contract is renegotiated then I will say what a guy. Joe Linta or the Ravens haven't said a word about any talks, he's just saying what the fans want to hear.

I'd go with a stinky ugly annoying touchy feely guy for our trainer, that way nobody wants to be injured and have to put up with him  lol
