Flacco the team player. Takes 3 year extension, lowers cap hit.

I despise Burfict, but his tackle on Joe in this video should NOT be called a penalty.

Probably not in theory, but I think by rule he led with the crown of the helmet which I think is illegal.

Now that he's said it on two different occasions, what are we waiting for Ozzie and Pat? Let's get the deal done. Don't let Linta hold you hostage again please.

All I can say is Burfict led with his helmet. Regardless of legality of the hit, if it were Ben Roethlisberger on the receiving end of that hit, he would be carted off the field whining and whimpering!

Gronk would be proud.

I could see it now.

"I was worried I'd never have kids again".

Also, instead of suspending Burfict the NFL should just forever play that whenever his name comes up to shame him

Based off of todays rules it should have been a penalty.

Joe The Leader, doing what leaders do and putting the greater good before himself.

Thank you for being you, Joe, even though you earned and deserve every penny of that contract. Let's go get it next year

Agreed. That's just football right there

All I read was Flacco saying "Ozzie, bring KO back to play LT and get me some firepower."

Glad I was not the only one

To be fair, restructure doesn't equal pay cut. So when I hear players are willing to restructure, thats never a bad thing for them because they get more cash in their pockets immediately.

I do think that Flacco is a reasonable guy though.

Not bad for the player, but not really good for the team long term. A restructure here would turn non guaranteed money into guaranteed money and push the next two years cap hits higher up.

An extension is really the only way to solve this problem both short and long term.

That comment section made me sick! What ignorance! Why do I do this to myself lol

PFT is the worst. Even their writers are scum that take cheap shots.

JOE states

" hey OZ, I am going to restructure but I need Treadwell and you can have everything else "

draft day gets here the great OZ trades back with the ram gets both 2nd pic and grabs TREADWELL

OZ then  takes a 2nd and 5th picks  goes back into the 1st rd and grabs a

CB  by the name of KENDALL FULLER,

Thanks Joe  you are the man,,, lol

2 thumbs up.

Good news, but he'll likely get more money (both this year and long term), so its a good thing for Joe as well.

I'm glad he said this. I hope he really presses his agent to get a good deal for BOTH sides, and quick.

Somehow, I feel like Flacco does want this but also trusts everyone else to handle it. Like he's just rehabbing and waiting for his phone to ring telling him it's done.

extension is much better then a restructure so i prefer that but if they cant get it done then i guess this is the next best option.

I'd assume it's an extension. No point in just restructuring. I don't see the franchise having plans on getting rid of Joe and balances out the money better.

This is good to see, I'm hoping that we come back stronger next season and ready to play.

*Patiently awaits 2 trouble makers to enter into this thread to complete derail it on how much they hate Flacco.*

On another hand its good to hear that the rehab is going well. Just hope he is going to be like Palmer and Brady where he comes back stronger. Guess time will tell.

I know the 2 Seahawks fan you speak of

haha I don't recall

it happened was awesome that is the man Joe can take Burfict cheap shot and hurt him meanwhile drama queen would need to ride off in a golf cart get a helicopter to take him to the locker room and use a wheel chair to get back on the field. Joe Rocks

that would be awesome send it to the video guys at M&T. Maybe Antonio Cromartie should take a few of those shots

"Restructure" is easy. We all would do it. Fans, and some media, are giving Joe too much credit for being a " great team player".And restructuring his contract does not make him a team player. Take a pay cut? That's a different story. The truth is, Joe's contract does not translate to wins or losses.

it does I get your point but if the estimates are true say 8 mil that could get KO resigned and give you a little extra to go towards Tucker/Aiken. I hate how people pound Joe on this why don't they crush Brady and others even Suggs when he extended to get a little extra cap space

Yeah, pay cut is one thing. Total team player in that instance. An extension with more years and more guaranteed money is just business as usual. No sacrifice being made there. Not knocking him, just letting everyone know this isn't what some are making it out to be. Either way, glad it's getting done (as long as its not some outlandish extension which it likely will be) so we can get him the team he needs to get us competitive again.

true webb took less money to stay on the ravens.

we will have to wait and see if flacco is doing the same.

i love joe, and im not doubting him here, but this isnt the joe we have to worry about, its the OTHER joe, joe linta...

he is going to gladly take on the role of the thorn in our sides for the next 8 or so years, because he knows by doing so he gets richer. flacco goes and gets the good guy pr, makes ravens fans love him and want him back, meanwhile linta is saying "18m per year or you can eat the current cap number" or "keep it or cut him because he can paid elsewhere". linta is a bonafide butt and we are going to HATE him in the long run, i can already see it coming.

What are you gonna do the following year when B Williams and Wagner(just to name a couple) are UFA's and Joe's contract is gonna be ridiculous and everybody figgered Brady out after they did a little digging. Restructuring is out of the question and a horrible fix. Even an extension at 25 mil a year is dumb.

I'd take 18 mil a year lol but I do remember Linta walking around like a rooster in a henhouse yucking it up about how he did over the Ravens.
