You draft watchers, who is better CB - Hargreaves or Alexander? Guess I better add Ramsey in there too. (Let it begin!!!)

Ramsey is the best athlete of the three, with the most flexibility in role.  He can play slot or outside CB and safety.  There has been a lot of talk that his best position in the NFL is actually at Free Safety.  Between Hargreaves and Alexander, Hargreaves is the more experienced, but Alexander is slightly bigger, slightly faster (although the combine may change that) and has more upside to develop.

Did I see something wrong but in the article both Hargreaves and Alexander are listed as 5-11 with Hargreaves listed as 199 and Alexander as 195... how is he slightly bigger? Serious question, is it arm length or are the stats listed wrong?

This years predictions ae so tough. So much depends on what the FO wants to do at LT, which is mostly likely dependent on the Flacco renegotiation and or if a deal is done with Tucker or a tag is needed. Could be anyone listed, someone could fall that shouldn't, or very well could trade back... my mind hurts trying to figure it out lol

I genuinely believe the Pre-Draft events are what will separate Alexander and Hargreaves. Both are too physically similar to one another and both have plenty of experience and success. The combine and indiv. workouts will be a major factor as to who gets taken after Ramsey

The Ravens signed Monroe to an extension? I wasn't aware of or recall that. (Dane Brugler)

As long as Shaq Lawson doesn't flop like the last bigtime DE from Clemson. Bowers had great stats in his senior year as well and turned out to be a bum. Tough to say but I think a top corner or pass rusher is the best way to go 1st round unless Treadwell is too tough to pass on.

Eric Galko......pertaining to Shaq Lawson......first he says Lawson is 6'3", 270. Then he goes on to say he's 6'6", 280. So, I looked it up and found a site claiming he is 6'4", 260. LOL is all I have to say. I guess we will have to wait for the Combine to find out.

I noticed that error as well as the Hargreaves/Alexander comparison (ain't looked up to see who actually is bigger yet), typos happen but shouldn't when listing stats lol

I agree ... I thought that this year, given we're drafting so high, would be more predictable than most years, because it is easier to predict who will still be on the board. However, I'm realizing there are still a lot of options for how this will turn out.

As you say, it starts with what we plan to do with LT. I really think the FO is going to give Monroe one last year to show that he can stay healthy. They've got too much committed to him and gain too little by cutting ties. If that is the case, then it is going to come down to whether or not they value Ramsey or Hargraves (or even Alexander) enough to bite this early on a CB.

If they don't, I really think we're going to work hard to find a partner to trade with and fall back 5 slots or so. If we do, then I look for us to end up with one of these edge rusher players who are not viewed as top 10 picks, but that still have a lot of upside.

Alexander is younger, faster, stronger and a better man to man cover corner. Look at the pass happy NFL and see what the big time Cb's get paid. What a team needs to do to acquire one and what they bring to the table. (see NE 2014 /Sea 2013).The pick is in, in my book!

Where have you been? They gave him a huge contract which he has not lived up too. He isn't even worth what we traded for him. Work out warrior but always hurt. Only year he played well was half of 2013. Sucked otherwise. Sorry, Oz made a huge mistake signing him as if he were a top 10 left tackle in the league. Not sure if they will cut him this year because of the dead money? Add him to the list of bad trades and bad draft picks and there you have the 2015 Ravens.

Yes, typos do happen, but when someone does this (or writing sports articles, for that matter) you don't expect to see them. It is, after all, what they do for a living.

Take it all with a grain of salt until the combine occurs and there are official measurements taken.

I agree ... I thought that this year, given we're drafting so high, would be more predictable than most years, because it should be much easier to know who will still be on the board when it is our turn to select. However, I'm realizing there are still a lot of options for how this will turn out and most of it depends on either what we have planned for players currently on our roster and how highly we grade out players that are at the top of the list in the draft.

If they don't, I really think we're going to work hard to find a partner to trade with and fall back 5 slots or so. If we do, then I look for us to go with the best edge rusher available at that spot.

Could definitely see it happening and my gut says the same about keeping Monroe.

Same gut feeling has me thinking we go Treadwell if he impresses at the combine.

Question is do the Ravens want to focus on be able to out score teams or limit teams from scoring?

Treadwell & Perriman on outside, SSS in slot, and our tight ends would be hella good.

Only fear of getting a CB is the time it may take for them to become that potential shut down guy (although not a top 10 guy, it took Jimmy awhile to develop) Serious question: Do you think a CB at 6 would be ready immediately?

I still like Ramsey because he can play CB or Safety. I've read about Ramsey being a freak of an Athlete that competes in Track & Field events outside of football. I've been hooked on Hargreaves ever since last year when FSU lined him up all over the field vs The Hurricanes. He has more size than either Hargreaves or Alexander.

I think the forgotten CB in this draft has become Kendall Fuller whom is full of potential, but got injured this year.

This is why I'm hoping the team likes Treadwell and is able to trade back a few picks, get Treadwell then snatch up K.Fuller late first round or earlier second round!

NO NO NO NO NO.......................

All these guys are wrong except maybe on Ramsey.

Ravens are not taking a LT at 6,

Ravens will draft a pass rusher @6, or Treadwell WR.

Positions that impact the totality of the defense or offense. Gamechanging Transcendent Pass rusher, or WR Treadwell.

Pass rushers like

Bosa

Myles Jack

Floyd

Nkumdeche

Ogbah

Etc

If we waste a number 6 overall pick on a tackle when we already have a starter who is competent on the field and is accounting for $7 million a year and we have glaring holes elsewhere,I'm going to canon ball dive onto the "our front office is incompetent in the draft" bandwagon. That would be a HUUGGGEEE waste of resources.

I am becoming more of a fan of Miles Jack pairing up with CJ Mosley to lead this defense into the future. It would also give us flexibility when it is time for a new contract for Mosley. The physical attacking style of Mosley paired with the range, versatility, and athleticism of Jack could give this defense something special for years to come. Ramsey and Jack are the type of Athletes that could practically play anywhere on the field. Patrick Peterson esque. If either of them are available, I would say that fits the BPA that Ozzie swears by, but also fills a long term need. Trading back sounds great on paper, but we could be passing up on a HOF type player. Tunsil, Bosa, Ramsey, Jack will all be special players. Hopefully one falls to 6. If not Buckner fits a need and has a freakish frame with a good motor.

My first thought was that our #1 need was in the defensive front 7 and not CB. But as I think more of the situation... our current CB's are either getting older/injured or are salvageable FA's. SO I think drafting a solid CB for now & the future would be smart. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if they used damn near all the draft picks on defense.

Regardless Webb still has more years left in his tank, and Jimmy Smith is still my guy.

And oh yea, don't forget RB, because we definitely need one.

Nkumdeche is a beast, I really hope we get him, he could really be that force this defense needs right now. Along with a versatile DT.

He signed a 5 year 37.5 million dollar contract after the 2013 season. He has 3 years left on the contract.
