[News] Michael Campanaro Views 2016 As 'Make-Or-Break Year'

46 posts in this topic

When healthy, Camp has been a great playmaker with a unique skill set, which could really add to the depth of offensive weapons going forward. I agree that this is a make or break year in regards to proving that he can stay healthy enough. I still have a lot of confidence in Camp's abilities and I hope that this season he turns the corner injury wise because thus far, there's a valid question regarding confidence in his durability. If  healthy, Camp could be a very big contributor to our offensive success. Other good players in the league have gotten past the early career injury bug so I haven't given up on Camp yet but this year is critical to get and stay healthy for Camp.

Camp will be a camp body cut. Anyone with a 1/3 ratio of games played needs to be excommunicated from the roster. I'd keep him to compete and possibly seek a trade for some team gullible to offer a late round pick. He's under contract so we'd lose nothing but an injury candidate. Getting something for nothing is the only surefire thing to do with this dude.

Reminds me a lot of Danny Amendola - talented but can't stay healthy. Amendola has been pretty good about being on the field the last couple of years, so let's hope Camp can figure the same thing out.

I honestly don't even see someone offering a 7th round pick for an often injured player with ONLY 12 catches in 2 years.

I said gullible. lol

Someone may think they can reform his ailments lol

I am saying keep him work him out in the most physical way you can, game speed ready and make him prove he has what it takes to get traded. He can't be allowed to hold space on this roster and waiting for him to get healthy hasn't worked at all. Like John said the waiting and wishing has to stop. So see yah Camp it wasn't nice knowing yah.

He has shown that he can be a playmaker, but staying healthy is a problem for him. Let's hope this year is his breakout (and injury free) year. GO RAVENS!

It will be tough. The Ravens will give BP, their 1st round draft pick every chance he can get, and we may draft another WR early this year, just because the lack of depth at that position killed us this season.

Brandon Stokley was another very talented WR that was "always" injured. That's why we finally let him go. He went on to have a darn good career WHEN he was on the field, though he missed about as many games as he played.

Well said, he seems to always get open and make plays when on the field but I also agree with this being the make or break year for him. I wouldn't label him a camp body, he has the skillset to be a play maker so if he stays healthy I think he makes the team IMO

8 games out of a possible 32....yeah I'd say this next season is make or break too. Good luck though. Camp has plently of upside.

My biggest fear is we will let him go and he will become a real asset for another team (probably the Patriots) If he can stay healthy I think he makes the team.

I put Camp getting hurt as a prime example of why Flacco made need to be assessed as a QB. Campanaro is a great WR when healthy, but he is a smaller guy. Joe Flacco throws touch throws leaves him all other WR's susceptible to big hits. The reason Camp gets an article is because he makes plays. This is why I've been saying the Ravens should be scouting for toughness more than anything with Flacco as QB. You can't do much but brace for hits with touch throws. All WR's need to be durable and tough but get the ball there so WR's can better protect themselves. FO sees that clearly in likenesses in Boldin transition to Smith! Thats why I say Joe Flacco needs Laquon Treadwell. They need to get him because he has the toughness of Anquain or Steve Smith! You missed out on Dez Bryant because the Cowboys traded up to take him from us. Don't make the mistake with No.6 pick. Defense is nice, but you have to get somebody in case T-Sizzle gets hurt again, but you do have a pass rusher (He is not going to start even if you do draft him in 1st round). We do need an LT depending on K.O. CB is an extreme need, but the WR you are looking for has presented himself get him.

Campanero has talent but you can't help the club from the tub. I hope he's not like a Webb or Smith. Flash potential then get hurt, contract year plays lights out and get resigned only to watch level of play decline. I wish all of our guys play every year like its a contract year. Campanero is a tough cover in the slot IF he can stay healthy.

Camp reminds me of Jullane Eddleman.Eddleman's first few years were the same injury wise. Camp just needs to get Cal Ripken to supply him with his Iron man milk. Lol

Hopefully the Ravens can improve this position so that guys like Campanaro, M Brown, J Butler and other fringe players wont be relied on to make the team.

Camp is nice but he has to stay healthy, and this is the year for that to happen, for he'll be to us what Julian Elderman is to New England!!!

Camp has that unique quality of being able to find the open spot and making some yards afterwards. He reminds one somewhat of Brandon Stokley who had the same ability but also found if hard to stay on the field.(Stokley did have a long career) But he's right that this will be his "last hurrah" with the Ravens if he doesn't stay healthy although that doesn't mean it's the end of his playing days.

He needs to think that the only way he can make this team is to be a number 1 return guy and to be a solid back up at the slot position. With Aiken getting so many snaps and getting better as the season went on there is no reason to think that Camp can be any higher then 4 as a WR.

He needs not only to stay 100% healthy but also to perform so well that they can't afford to cut him. We have seen so many brief flashes of his playmaking abilities, but he just can't be relied upon to stay healthy. Such a shame. Hope he finds a way to stay on the field for the rest of his career, because he could be a stud.
