[News] Mel Kiper Outlines Five Options At Pick No. 6

103 posts in this topic

I really don't care who they pick because they have so many needs from previous bust but this time do YOUR STUPID HOMEWORK and DO YOUR JOB. All you had to do is Google Perriman and you knew he had issues with his knee.

This is silly. He never missed a game in 3 years of college. Maybe relax a bit before going off on some of the best FO people in all of sports.

I'm okay with the Ravens taking a left tackle first, if there is no dominant pass rusher there at the six spot. Again, can't miss on this first pick.

I know we gonna get the best player available, but at this point I would say that we should look for our needs! Getting help at OL is by far not our biggest concern. We need playmakers at skillpositions. If there really is only a so-so wide receiver group this year, why not get one of the few top talents? If not a WR then please take a CB or OLB, anything but OL. This is a rare opportunity to get a gamechanger. We can get some good OL later and develop them. Look at KO we got him in the second round and he worked out just fine.

I think we should draft CB Vernon Hargreaves, pass rusher Lawson, a LT, WR Coleman, another CB maybe King or Alexander, another pass rusher, a Runningback and maybe Braxton Miller in no particular order at all. I would like to see some of these guys and positions on our team even though I know we won't get all maybe even half of them.

king is going back to school.

Baring injuries... (Cough* Perriman...) We need someone who is going to start like not even day one but like day -1. Of all positions, I think CB is the one where we need an immediate starter. Especially if we want to keep up with the Antonio browns and Aj Greens in our division, with the 6th pick we cant have a project player.

Pass rush might be the next option but I think we have a reputation for breeding no name pass rushers (Mcphee, Arthur Jones) I think we wait, Apart from Bosa who I'm sure wont be avail the next pass rusher isnt worth the same value as the top CB.

My call is Ramsey or Hargreaves if neither is available we are trading back with other teams who are trying to leap frog San Fran for a QB.

OL I'm confident we'll address in FA, we did that and got a solid starting center to replace Birk or if luck would have it we'll restructure joe, get tucker locked up and tag KO.

We've invested a first round last year at WR, Treadwell isnt worth it at pick 6, We can get DeSean Jackson 2.0 in Will Fuller in the second round. OZ and most people already know we already have Possession receivers we need a receiver that can catch canon bombs. Enter Will Fuller.

Don't get carried away thinking one player is going to solve the pass rush needs. Very few players can accomplish that feat. It will most likely be a combination of 1-3 players up front and in the secondary. Snag some solid playmaking WR that can consistently get separation. Doesn't matter how good or flashy a WR is if they are not a viable target to throw to. Treadwell and Shepard are both solid in this department and also bring much more playmaking ability. Early then bolster the pass rush with many picks. OT is not a real concern, Monroe is not going anywhere due to contract. Monroe is worth doing everything to keep, looking at Joe on that one. However if he does end up leaving they already have his replacement at LG. Not worth the early pick, maybe a mid-round pick to develop for depth.

Uh. in the first article this website published after we drafted Perriman all you had to say was "I can't get imagine a 6' 2, 212 pound guy running that fast. That's NUTS."

I'm curious because it doesn't sound like you yourself had done "your stupid homework."

The Ravens draft board might be a tad different than most boards simply becuz they don't go with the media hype and they have their own scouts with their own criteria. Don't be surprised if Ozzie picks a guy that makes you go "WHA???"

You can't overlook the fact that the Ravens do their own scouting, but if they pick at 6 or higher they may be pretty comparable to the consensus outside of qb. Sami how did you get to be a Ravens fan? Was your dad an old Browns fan pre-move to Baltimore andguided  you down the team path when they moved? I know my kids are Ravens fans because of me even though they never lived anywhere close to Maryland.

Two completely different medical issues, but you would know that if you used Google before spewing your typical hate trading rhetoric.

I would like to see a pass rusher on that top 5 list. And, if we draft a Corner, go for length and speed. No guys under 6 feet. We can coach the right guy.

Ravens have a lot of holes, so any position is really fine at this point. Speaking of Kiper, he just said that the Deadskins had the best draft in 2015 because they (new GM, Mcloughan) nearly every draft pick were contributors this season. This is what I've been saying because our last 5 years have been bad drafts, so we don't have any good foundation- we draft a safety every year, and Harbs is still saying we need a safety in his latest interview. Some blame has to go to the FO/ Oz/ DaCosta because Harbs and his coaches aren't given sufficient talent to compete. I also disagree with Bisciotti in thinking that we're not that far away from the Bungal and Squeelers, who have now taken over as the fiercest and best rivalry in the NFL, if we get all our injured players back.

Laquan Treadwell is by far and away the best option since Ramsey will be gone. Also,we're only a few days into the off season and I'm already getting tired of this stupid tackle speculation.Monroe and Wagner are our guys.Deal with it!!

There is not a chance in hell Monroe protects Joe Cools blind side!! He has no desire to play once he got his money. He can't stay in the lineup and to top things off is well below 300lbs!! Just cuz a player is under contract holds no water for him being a viable option!! That is all there is to deal with!! He is a bad signing. Good young left tackles do not walk for late round draft picks. Jags knew this dude is a loser. I do agree with the Treadwell pick. He, Pro day Perriman and Campanaro will make an awesome explosive young trio!! Throw in the young TEs including a far stronger and more explosive Maxx and the most violent overpowering yet athletic OLine in the league and the ravens have something special

On offense!! KO is the new left tackle!! He fits in great with the mauling OLine and will be the left tackle and anchor for years!! Not to many 6'5 1/2 330lb OLine players sport a 6 pak, 36" arms and huge strong hands with left tackle athleticism. Ravens offense is going to be the greatest show meets the Great Wall. I would like to see the ravens consider trade a mid round pick next year for Marqise Lee. He has so!e edges to smooth but has much the same skills as Beckham.

Its speculation...None of us can control their intentions.   I think the OT and Backfield players are on the upper tier of the Ravens agenda

This is a myth. You're referencing a knee condition that affects ADOLESCENTS, which obviously Perriman is not.

That similar information is also available on Google...

Not much incentive for the Jags to do that deal. If he's talented enough to be traded for a mid round pick, he's talented enough to keep for dirt cheap on a roster lacking depth at the position.

CB or WR.. Ravens CB's can't keep up with all these great Wr's in the North

Most of them have been around for awhile, and the Ravens haven't had much issue beating them...

He was that mediocre where the jags wanted an upgrade and knew he was not good enough to sign and got whatever for him. He is worse now. He is below 300 lbs.

Hopefully Jaguars go up and reach for Treadwell, and we get Ramsey or Hargreaves.

Or the impossible happens and Joey Bosa pulls a Leonard Williams and gets drafted #6.

If we can trade down and get some more picks to reload the defense and WR and Oline that would be best. We could still get some real talent later in the first and still possibly get a second or third round pick if we trade down enough. I beef of the potential will be in rounds 2-5 this year anyway.

Why would the jags do that?

They had 2 1000+ yard wr's this past season. Their best WR (allen robinson) is a pro bowler. Both are young players that just completed their 2nd seasons in the NFL. WR isn't a need for the jags.

1. I don't see any possibility where the Titans use the #1 overall pick on an OLineman, considering they just took Taylor Lewan two years ago early to be their future LT, and he fared pretty well there this year. Can't see them using the top pick on somebody who would probably play RT for several years. Them taking a defensive playmaker, particularly Bosa, makes all the sense in the world, since its by far their biggest need.

2. I can't see any scenario where the Cowboys take a RB at #4. Way too many bigger needs on that team (cornerback, for instance, and they might get their pick of the best here). RBs are largely a dime a dozen in this league, and you can get All-Pros annually in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Marriota got knocked out of a few games this year, and they could always move Lewan to RT where he might be better suited in the NFL. Tunsil has future HOF type ability. He was the JO of college football last year. I have heard from a bunch of Titans fans that think they pass on Bosa because they have also invested in a lot of D-Linemen early in the draft, but Bosa also makes sense.

Ezikel is probably a reach, but look at the Cowboys and tell me what they need most. They already have Brandon Carr (FA Signing 2012), Morris Claiborne (1st Round 2012) UFA, and Byron Jones (1st Round 2015). I could see them taking a corner, but I went with their biggest need if they since they are too stubborn to take a QB. I could also see them taking Treadwell, BPA, or trading back.

The Purpose of my post was to hear opinions on who we take at No. 6...
