Your thoughts on Derrick Henry-RB-Bama

What Harbs want in an RB is different then Henry. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he wants someone similar to Forsett but younger. Someone explosive out the backfield who is also shifty.

I agree!! A young Forsett. Not even going to say like the low life loser who was cut so lets use Forsett as what to look for. Would be nice for Justin to be 5 yrs younger. It really sucks Christian McCaffrey is not in this draft!! Buck has the raw skills he just needs to focus his skills

We need a really fast back. We have a couple of one cuts and power backs but I want a part time CJ Spiller type of back to give the defense a new look every once in a while. Any guys in this draft like that?

I am singular minority in Henry's case but I loved that guy since the start of 2014 season, when he relieved Yeldon at times. I would love to have him as a Raven, I think he and Buck would be very nice combo.

Henry is terribly underrated with the excuse that he needs O line to open the hole for him. Well, which RB doesn't need that? He would be great running behind our blockers.

We cannot pick him at 6 realistically and he will not be there for us in 2nd round.

Yes, he'll probably be there in the second. Which means we are probably taking him. He's terribad in the open field, cannot make good cuts, runs too upright, and he doesn't need the oline just to open up holes for him. That oline would open up holes the size of Texas.

He's another Trent Richardson to me. Would be beyond furious with Ozzie if we took him.

My biggest issue with Buck is that I have yet to see that breakaway speed. He can get to open space but he doesn't seem to have that extra gear. If we're going to draft a RB, I'd guess we're looking for a more speedy complement. That would seem to rule Henry out, as West and Taliaferro can fill that big back role.

I agree but I wouldn't spend a high pick on a 3rd down RB. We don't have that luxury. Maybe if we can get McCaffrey next year I'd be on board, I think he is something special.

I agree 100%. Not going to be a full time back or anything but I think he's the next Sproles.

For sure.  You can typically find some of those quick types of backs very late or undrafted.  You might not get a starter but there are a ton of quality change of pace backs every year.

I don't think Ozzie takes Henry just because he's from Alabama. We didn't draft Lacy. I don't think Ozzie will take Henry in the second. Maybe if he falls to the third then it may be possible. He's more likely to get Drake than Henry imo

The Ozzie/Bama connection is way overblown - even around here, where frankly fans should know better.

Yep, drafted 7 Alabama players in 20 years

Baltimore has someone as good as Henry with the same physic... there is also 2 young fast backs that got alot of 'GOOD' playing time... Forsett got his 1 year of Glory behind a line that had its best year ever... It happening again is for "Dreamers"... Go with Mallett at QB (did I say that right?) dump Flacco, Oz should eat the Dead Money.... Don't worry about the rb slot...

Forsett was having another 1000+yard year as well as all the catches so that's 2 years and really can you quit with the Mallett over Joe if he is so good he wouldn't have played for 3 teams in 2 years there's a reason for that. you cant complain about dead money in one post then taking 25.8mil dead money to cut a franchise super bowl mvp qb that statement is absurd.

Had to uptick yeah. I agree. But truthfully I don't think he likes Henry until the later portion of the draft. Ozzie picked jamal from a stack of unheard of's in the grand scheme of things. A bash your head in thick heavy handed back. Forsett and that type would send shock waves through the division. Mawshawn 2.0 lol

Yeah. I think Cyrus Jones makes the most sense if we're talking punt returner. I only brought up Drake because he's pretty good as a RB and a returner and I think he fits us better. I do like Henry. Not knocking him. I just wouldn't take him in the second.

Lol I guess I'm just saying we agree haha

He's not the answer period. We have so many options. No hyped up plodding runner would equal the true value we have at our disposal. Henry looks developmental entering the draft. If we went with him it seems long term. I can't count how many times he failed in the second half of the championship game. He has no ability to create after the holes close. None. I'm checking out bleacher report's analysts for un ticks on players not even being discussed currently. I'm looking for the not so obvious in the draft. It's my new found passion. I'm glad we agree. That's as honest as I can get.

I was about to bring this up but saw you beat me to it, if Ozzie drafts an Alabama player (of course assuming Ozzie can't draft the rights to Calvin Ridley already) I would much rather him take a later pick and draft Drake.  He had that terrible injury but has explosive speed, he's sort of a bigger and faster version of Shane Vareen.  Certainly wouldn't mind a player of that caliber on the Ravens, especially with how Trestman loves throwing to running backs

It was a lot but he only played one full season as a starter. Dude as big as Henry can certainly take that.

It's probably even worse for a guy his size. His knees will be completely worn before his rookie contract is over.

I'd honestly draft Kenyan Drake over Henry. Drake has a ton of tread on his tires and has proven his skills as both a reciever and returner.

No need or a RB I think he isn't even the top RB Ezekiel Elliott is a better prospect in my opinion

Ezekial Elliott will be ten times the pro that Henry will be. You guys will see. Henry does not have lateral quickness. Example of a big back like that he better hope he has a edger george like career but I still project him to bust out. He's taking advantage of his hot moment.

I think Elliott is going be nasty! I'm thinking a healthier version of John stewart from carolina
