[News] John Harbaugh Details Offseason Needs, Goals

56 posts in this topic

You guys forget... John only makes suggestions... Ozzie makes roster decisions... so trying to blame the roster on John is laughable... and if you think 2 losing seasons are enough to get rid of John... that's also laughable... you get rid of a head coach when your team doesn't respond to him... players respond to John... and for the team to be competitive with the roster being in shambles... we had a shot in every game except the Seattle game... I am sorry but the game plan for that game was terrible... Give Russell all day to pass knowing your back end is a group of moving parts??? Makes absolutely no sense to me... I understand that you can't blitz to often but come on that was terrible... I agree we need another WR but I think pass rush is the biggest concern... you can hide your secondary if you can get after the passer...

Well said. I've went from wanting a LT to now wanting Treadwell (doubt a quality pass rusher is there at 6 but do think/hope that either the FA or 2nd round gives us someone to pressure opposing qbs

If you people do not know that this is all scripted and that they are on the same page, then I do not know what to say about this topic. Do we really think they would not be prepared for these interviews?

I think coaching should lead by example. They want the players to preform at the highest level, or get rid of them. Same should go for coaching. If we are having the same problems with our secondary next season, maybe it's not about every guy that tries to be on our secondary. Maybe it's about how they are being coached. If so cut bait !

cutting bait with arrington, Elam, Levine, a brown, guy, and canty would free up about 8 mil in cap space

I'd put them all on the block, get whatever we can for them and let go of the rest. KO must stay a Raven!

I love it atlas the ravens get it now...hopefully they actually carry out these plans and keep this new way going, we need to be aggressive and I think we get that now. aNow all we need to do is replace some of the staff like DC, defensive backs coach, wide receiver coach and get a linebacker coach and then we can really start doing what we want.

Mel Kiper has the Ravens taking Ronnie Stanley OT from Notre Dame in the first round.

People will start yelling, Such an unsexy pick!

Il gladly take a non sexy pick that protects our quarterbacks behind for 5 years ;)

Obviously we would like to improve on both sides and it starts by retaining KO and tucker. Approach draft with bpa based on needs so CB, pass rusher, then WR.

the secondary has been weak since the second half of the 2012 superbowl. why these guys still have a job will be on harbaughs head if there is no improvement with that unit next season.

My issue is the Ravens beat the hottest team in football so they say with backups on Offense so how much more do they need?! I'm sorry my issue is with Joe and I feel he isn't utilizing his players correctly or to the best of their abilities because like I said the Ravens beat the hottest team in football so they say with backups on Offense! Or change the entire team to cater to one player! Smh "That was no fluke" and it kinda raised our spirits after a jacked up season!

Oh god forbid you ever say Joe threw a bad ball or made a bad call. Nooooooo some people here will blame the receivers for running too slow, not jumping high enough, not getting open quick enough, not finding the sweet spot in the zone. The linemen for not holding their blocks long enough, the quardinators for bad play calls. The wind , the rain. A GhOst! But noooo constructive criticism is banned when you mention Joe Flacco. He can get paid like the best but doesn't have to play like the best.

Go prove us all wrong Joe! If mallet and schaub can play at a respectable level with your backups then you should play at a probowl level with the starters. No excuses just hard work and results!

I know we will not be able to afford him but it be nice if we could get Bruce Irvin in free agency. Also I want and need Flacco to step up this year but I think he has hit his ceiling and is spoiled. Next season probably still won't read defenses, audible and will still stare down receivers, he's stuck in his ways but also the ravens need to give him some playmakers and the line needs to stay consistent. GO RAVENS

I hate to be the big spoiler, but my guess is that unless Bosa, Tunsell or Ramsey falls to them at 6 then Ozzie will trade back, get more picks and sit back and watch who else may tumble down the board and get back in at a strategic time and snatch them up. That then positions them to get back in the first round for another pick where they will do the same. They really want a left tackle, pass rusher or corner and the top three worth getting at pick six I am afraid won't be there and we will settle for two or three extra picks. However, if one or more of them are, Ozzie will pull the trigger, no doubt.

You think what Schaub, aka The Pick 6 King did was respectable ? OK lol .... Also, if you think what all three backs up did was better than what Joe has done and will do moving forward, I have to question your football acumen. Keeping with the Star Wars theme these days...I find your lack of faith in Flacco disturbing. :jedi:

Whether they move back or not, the IMO, the Ravens should get a pass rusher for the following reasons. How will Suggs plays after 2 Achilles tears, Both Suggs and Dumervil and over 30 years old, pass rusher will allow Z. Smith to be use as intended, a pass rusher makes the DBs better, pass rusher lead to ints and fumbles, pass rusher can be used immediately where CB,S need to develop (most times). Wish list Bosa, Calhoun, Floyd, Lawson. Ravens can not afford to lose games in the 4th quarter cause QBs have all day to throw the ball.

pass rusher(s) are the #1 priority. we have talent in the secondary. these guys played well before they came here but all of a sudden they have underachieved because our terrible secondary coaches cannot get it right with this group. cb is needed and a younger version of anquan bolden would be nice. i see the fo resigning osemele. he is too valuable to let go

We definitely need a few playmakers at skill positions. WR / CB (and get some INT's) and maybe an impact player at RB (which we don't need that badly), but if a dominant player is available, we should grab him.

Our number one need is CB. Followed by a pass rusher. After that it's a toss up between FS and WR. We need a shutdown CB, especially if we move Webb to FS. If we have Hill and Webb at SS and FS, and a healthy Smith at CB. We just need another lock down CB. With Suggs coming off injury and no depth behind him and Dumerville (Z. Smith is ok) we need another OLB who can get to the QB. If we move Webb to FS that will answer that question. As for WR, with Smith coming back, and Perriman healthy, along with Aiken, we have some WRs. We still need to draft one, but it's not as urgent. This draft is deep with WRs, we can get one in the 3rd round. After that we need an ILB, DL, and a OT.

I like what Harbaugh said, and I'm particularly happy that it happened to be wr help that he mentioned first. Of course, I realize that he wasn't talking about our needs in a priority type manner, but just the fact that he agrees that the wr position still has needs and should be upgraded was nice to hear. I'm not one of the people who will be "screaming" for a wr in the first round, although Treadwell Is a nice thought. I'm still hopeful, and believing, that Perriman will play next year and that will be great because it will be like we have two 1st rd'ers to start the season with. He's so right, also, that we have many other needs and the terms "playmakers" and "game changers" really describe the kind of help we'd all like to see. This off-season will be really interesting. If we can re-sign KO, I will be absolutely and totally thrilled. I want him back SO much. I'd be surprised, but Very happy.

This is a shame that this team has been so depleated... once the best "D" in the NFL, to now there is so many ?marks that we would need 3 1st round picks to pull us back to where we once were, "right or wrong", I'm close to the truth...The DB's are pathetic with makeshifts' at Safety & CB..Geee, Kendrall whats his name, whos on second, ha....The LB's aren't much better... Who has torn this defense apart? OZ has not had a good draft in several years, Good Bye Ozzie, everyone needs to accept their faults and leave... Take Flacco withyou and we'll make out with someone cheaper but better, i.e., Mallett, get it....

I maybe in you guys' eyess a "dummy", or "Rookie" but been here longer than most of you been alive...I go back to the Browns era of Brown/Green & Kelley/Scott...I keep seeing what our #1 need is and I keep thinking; Do you get extra picks when you have so many #1 needs? NO, Do you keep filling an empty pot with "Dead Money" on Gambles? NO, Pitta was an injury casualty that can be excused...Monroe was an avg. guy but didn't deserve high priced 4 & 5 pick exclusive, then got a huge paycheck for the next 3 years, and now will be a big ???mark.. Forsett- got his 1 great year as a travel man, we gave him the golden pot and now we're stuck with more dead money.. How bout that center we got from TB, whom they didn't want, whats his price to not play? This team reminds me of the atlanta Braves
