[News] John Harbaugh Calls Hue Jackson A 'Great Hire' For Browns

50 posts in this topic

please bring in Ray Lewis as our linebacker coach

I don't think any sane GM or owner would pay a LB's coach the kind of money Ray Lewis earns now as a media guy. As someone said, once a former coach or player sets his foot in the media (meaning TV of course), he'll only go back to play or coach football if he feels like it, money won't lure them away, because the media companies easily outbid the owners.

So, if Ray WANTS to be a coach or decides to do a solid for his former employee/fans, that's a chance. But until then...

It makes sense... He played with Rex for so long. Ed Reed is my favorite Raven of all time. I guess the Bills will be my 2nd team to cheer for next season. I hope he succeeds. I just hope his defensive backs play bad "on accident" against his former team.

Another year another former Raven becomes a head coach. Are we above 22%u2030 of the league head ccoaches as former Ravens now? Or does thepPettine to Jackson just keep it even?

I'm glad Hue Jackson is out of Cincy. Maybe we can actually beat them now. I just hope now that we don't give up 200 yards a game to Josh Gordon... AJ Green was a thorn in our sides for so long under Hue.

Everyone saying that the Ravens should have hired Reed is deluding themselves. It is precisely Reed's history with the team that makes him a poor choice. Reed was constantly butting heads with coaches, routinely ignored what he was told to do something else he thought was better, and was opposed to Harbaugh's hiring.

Granted, his assertive personality was a key part of what made him the greatest FS of all time, and what made him a great leader among the players. It was all part of what made him invaluable as a Raven. But that's not the kind of history you want with a team you're now coaching. Reed and Rex always were very tight nit. It makes infinitely more sense that Reed is part of Rex's staff than him being part of the Ravens' staff. For ALL parties involved.

I'm so glad I followed Art and Ozzie! Still can't sleep on the Browns, they are a QB away from being in the running next season and I know Hue can see it! This division is getting back to the days of old when all the teams won and you really have to bring your "A" game or you will be at home!

Yea it is great but instead of Ravens SPLITTING with the Ravens they will now SWEEP the Ravens. I'm struggling to find 8 wins for next year and just can't find it. Bengals-2, Patriots-1, Bills-1, Jets-1, Giants-1,Cowboys(away)-1, Pitts -1 (split maybe), Browns -1 Skins-1. That leave the Raiders (home), Jags (Away), Miami, and Eagles. No coaching changes and no money for free agents. 6-10

Poor old Hue. He better be a miracle worker up there. A short tenure is more than likely in his future there. I cannot understand why any coach would want to step into that role in that city. Money drives it all, but at some point getting fired from multiple HC jobs will doom your future in the NFL.
