Evaluating the Baltimore Ravens biggest need overall: "Playmaker"

How do people feel about drafting a dynamic running back?  I think Buck Allen/Forsett are good, not great and they don't have that game changing ability.

I'll admit I hadn't looked into Howard, but after that ship I am impressed. I don't even see him as a TE, with the way he plays and at that speed with that quickness and that wingspan, dude looks like a legit #1 wr. I may need to look into him more but he is intriguing for us If we could convert him to play at across from perriman, that would just be one sick nasty aerial attack

you might be onto something here too..just read some comments from harbaugh in this article that concedes that may be an option:

Darn it, you beat me to it.

Maybe Harbs was listening to Grim after all.

“I love our young tight ends. But I wouldn’t mind having another guy though, a guy that stretches the field and can go make plays up the seams,” he said.

I think I'll go crazy if we get Howard but I hope he doesn't turn out as another Arthur Brown. Lol

Where is he projected?

Where is he projected?

He was a pretty solid day two prospect coming into the National Championship. He was a 5 star TE coming out of high school and was seen as a player who had all the potential in the world, but just couldn't use it all in games. With the national championship, an extremely weak TE class, and likely a good combine performance under his belt, he is looking like an early-mid second rounder with first round potential.

The thing about TE is that usually only one cracks the first round if one even does. There's also the Arkansas TE Henry who's really a fine prospect and more accomplished. I find it hard to believe Howard goes above him.

I'd guess mid second to early 3rd.

I like Howard over Henry honestly. It's pretty easy for teams to go back the last two years and see that Lane Kiffin can only scheme a passing offense around one receiver at a time. Howard was horribly under utilized and has freak athleticism. I'm fine with the Ravens skipping over TE with Gilmore, Williams, and Boyle, but Howard slightly edges out Henry for me.

Definitely would be awesome to have- but I see it as a luxury and would find it hard to justify drafting another TE that high with our current needs. I think we almost have to go pass rusher or corner in the second round depending on what happens in the first. If he falls to the third that's another story..but even then it's iffy depending on who else is there.

Who's the odd man out if we draft Howard? Pitta is gone, but I'm talking about the three young studs we already have.

we'd most definitely keep 4. He would be considered more like our 6th or 7th receiver.

I really liked what we saw near the end of the season with those double and triple tight end sets. I think we were really gonna start running them a lot more but we kinda got set back due to injuries and Boyles suspension. If we get Howard it's even more likely we can start running these sets all year long. That combined with perrimans speed on the edge and SSSs shiftiness..we could really have something special. I really think Crockett is ready to break out this year too. He started to flash but then kind of fell into a sophomore slump...next year he will be ready.

Nobody. You keep all four and issue tissue boxes to all defensive coordinators and their linebackers and safeties in the NFL.

I think a decision on Pitta will be made in the Summer, I really think Howard is a beast. It depends on where he goes but I wouldn't be shocked if someone picked him up in the very late first.

Paging Laquan Treadwell or Michael Thomas

I really like Michael Thomas but I do prefer Boyd over him. I also have him in a tie with Coleman simply because of Coleman's playmaking potential and ceiling.
