23 posts in this topic

sure hope he's not. Hes not only a great kicker but you can't split up the Wolf Pack.....that's like taking Moe out of the 3 stooges.

Even $15 Million over 4 years doesn't seen much for a guy who scores points nearly 88% of the time he walks on the field for a fg! His PAT has got to be higher!

At some point we need to pay the great talent we have!  :oldwiseman:

We must sign Tucker asap to alleviate the anxiety for the fans. I am sure we all still have nightmares of Cundiff shanking that 32 yard kick in NE....

We've been there, in Foxborough,... it's a bad feeling, yes, but that's life in the NFL! We may yet have a similar situation here, with J. T. (nothing's assured for the people who will neg that phrase)!

We cannot afford to mess around with this! His % is higher than guys kicking over half their games in domes!

Wow- lot's to be addressed in the coming months. Ravens are coming off a 5-11 season, there are two major UFAs who REALLY need to be retained (Tucker, Osemele), and there's the whole Flacco contract re-structuring that needs to be addressed also. It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out...

Kickers are becoming more valuable with new rules and can be the reason you win or lose. Tucker is clutch and one of the best in the league. There are teams who would LOVE to have what we have. Do what you gotta do to keep him!

Each time I click the "Harbs wants to run more" article, I end up here! They must be able to read my mind about that being said each year! Go figure!

Do we really need another article on whether or not Tucker will be a Raven next year? His singing on Royal Farms commercials instead of Haloti Ngata (who is a Det Lion) is worth keeping him here in and of itself. (LOL) Now in all seriousness as noted above Gostowski has a 4 year deal for $4 million a year and has set the bar for kickers. The franchise tag for kickers is about $4.5 million. Tucker has made it so we don't worry about extra points, kickoofs and most times a FG attempt. When is the last time an opposing team started past the 20? Yes, he was off on kicks 50 this year, but remember the 62 yard kick that won us a game in Det or 3 games winning kicks against Pitt over the past couple years, etc, etc. There is no way Ozzie lets him walk and although we'll never know, I bet this won't be a major topic finalized in Florida next week when the brain trust meets since it's a no brainer. Even if we have to use the franchise tag by March it does not choke the salary cap and I think he signs a long term deal in the $4-5 million range for 4-5 years by training camp. Enough Tucker stories. How about the fact that we have 4 picks in the top 100-105 of the draft. We pick 6th and 38th. The last time we had picks in that vicinity we got Joe Flacco and Ray Rice. All-in-all a pretty good 1 and 2 pick. Come on, if the Redskins can go from worst to first, we can move up from third to first. This offseason will be one to keep close tabs on! Go Ravens!!

I don't believe Tucker and the Ravens are trying to "work out a long term extension". He's going to be a free agent. It's tough to "work out an extension" w/a free agent, when their original contract is over. I suppose someone could consider a new contract before the old one actually expires as an "extension", but that essentially is still a new deal. Call it what you like, but giving Tucker a "long term extension" is not what we're talking about here. It's called a new deal. Maybe the author doesn't know the difference?

Ravens organization and our fans value "The Clutch Kicker" more so then maybe any fanbase and franchise.

We had Automatic Matt Stover for all those years, and now we have Tucker. No way he is let go.. he gets franchise tagged at worst. Hopefully a long term extension though

If there is ever a moment in Ozzie's mind where he thinks he'll go in a different direction just remember 'wide left' with Cundiff in New England. Still makes me sick thinking about that game.

Who else would we even consider tagging this year? If we have to slap it on him then that's what we gotta do, don't let him walk out the door. Is there a more popular kicker in the league? I don't think so.

at the state of the ravens they all agreed that this team needed more playmakers and game changing players. tucker is both of those so he must be signed

I feel that the Ravens loves to play games of Chess, They feel that they can pull one over Justin Tucker like they do the others, They are being very disrespectful, I'm hoping that Tucker is smart enough to play that very same games, let him keep the Ravens Brass in the dark till the very last second, let them see that he will walk away, he doesn't need the Ravens, the Ravens needs him. If I was Tucker, I would feel like I got slapped in the face

Give the man 20 mill for 4 years and get it over with. You damn well he's the best kicker Ravens ever had. Stover was good but not in Tucker's class.
