[News] Ravens Have Options At Left Tackle

I don't think it was a defender that 'crashed' into Flaccos leg. I think it was one of our own that rolled into it.

I would just hate to see KO go, he would be like Yanda, able to play both Guard and Tackle, and be good at both....Would allow you to carry a extra DB,WR,LBer on game day depending on the needs...

It was one of our own guys and he was shoved into his leg at the end of the play.

Only if we could get out of Monroe's contract and just sign KO. He could play LT next year and we could focus on Defense in the 1st Round. Too bad we overpaid for a Jacksonville Jag when we thought we were getting a bargain LT. Classic too good to be true lesson.

Yeah I think it was Hurst at the end of the Rams game.

Someone start the keep K.O. petition please! You can see the difference in players who been drafted by a team and players you pick up in FA. Especially those players who protect the big money guys.

Cannot believe we are in a tight position to keep Kelechi because of Monroes contract smh. I wish we could just cut him with no strings attatched to free up more money for Osemele. One Kelechi is worth two Monroes.

How bout the job Fitzgerald Toussaint is doing for Pittsburgh. Another good player overlooked by Ozzie and the rest of our staff smh. I actually commented on here last season (2014) saying that I thought the RB lineup should have had Toussaint and not Pierce. Either way, it is what it is, no complaints, just hope they get stricter on the quality of players we put in the lineup. And listening to the fans wouldn't hurt.

I don't think he was overlooked...  We had Forsett, Taliaferro, and Buck Allen on the PS at the time.  Even before he graduated, they knew that Terrence West wanted to play in Baltimore.  Looking at what we have right now???  I like our backfield.  The guy plays behind Leveon Bell and Deangelo Williams.

They need to keep KO. I don't care how. You keep your best players, no matter the position. he's one of their best players.

Lets trade eugene monroe for a late round draft pick just to get rid of his contract and reign k.o as our tackle

First, we'd have to find a team willing to make that deal and pay him what he wants. Then, we just eat all the dead money, too, I guess(?) Top all that off w/what it will now take to sign KO as a new franchise LT. Your plan is not quite that simple to pull off, but who knows?

Let's reconcile to this fact. Eugene Monroe is going to be the LT. Having cleared that up, now it is time to decide what to do for his back up. If K.O is signed, it gives us some insurance at LT because he'll be the starting LG and Ryan Jensen will back him up. If Monroe is injured again, then he'll slide left to man the tackle and Jensen will man LG. We draft a Tackle/Guard combo type player with great upside in the 3/4th round for Juan Castillo to develop in a year or two. This is what the Ravens brass are thinking right now and I'm willing to bet I'm right.

Trading a player won't necessarily remove all of the organization's financial commitment towards that player. For this 2015 season, for example we had 7.5 million in dead money for Haloti Ngata, although we traded him to the Lions...

Yeah, and Ngata did nothing in Detroit really.  I'm not a cap expert at all, but doesn't that affect us too?

Monroe is not a good left tackle, he flashed at times nothing more!! KO is a far superior left tackle!! Look at pics of Monroe from jags and recently. He looks deflated. Just cuz somebody is being paid does not make him a viable option!! Once KO is signed the ravens have to decide if he plays guard or tackle. If he signs and plays guard and ravens keep Monroe at LT then KO will end up at tackle either way. Monroe gets injured or Monroe plays terrible. If KO plays tackle then a backup will be needed at tackle. So ravens will need to draft a tackle somewhere. If Tunsil or Stanley is available then the decision is made for them. And ravens will have the best OLine since the great wall. Even if KO plays left tackle the OLine is very formidable because Jensen is pro bowl caliber and Urschel will be a great center. Only issue with drafting Tunsil now as much as everybody knows I really like him is ravens need playmakers. and if KO is playing left tackle then it allows the ravens to add any receiver management wants in the draft. Allows a double up on receivers in first 4 rounds. I really would like to hear some reasonable logic why anybody could think Monroe will be the left tackle much less be counted on. The OLine has dominated formidable DLines recently. KO is going to be at the very least a top8 left tackle statistically and maul opponents while doing so.

Your ok with us moving forward with Forsett as #1 and Buck as #2? Hate to disagree with you mom, but I can tell you right now that we need t upgrade that position, I guarantee you this. The identity of this organization has always been a strong brute downhill run game. But since Forsett had to step in for Rice, respectively, it has changed to a slash & dash run game. Which does not fit this team very well if you ask me, especially in our division.

Yes they have options A guy that plays some of the time and a guy that would play most of the time. If Joe does not change his contract how are they Ravens going to keep KO? Is Ozzie so confident that he will get the 3 critical Ravens needs in the draft? Will Ryan Mallett make everyone forget about Joe when if he plays the first two regular season games and does very good? This team is going to be a mess.

Exactly..Article states it perfectly.. cutting Monroe is 6.6 mil dead money pitfall. No thank you. Avoid dead money at all cost.

Keep monroe and ride it out with him.. and worst case scenario its a deep LT draft.... take Le'Raven Clark LT Texas Tech 3rd round prospect 6'6 320lb
