[News] Eisenberg: Pleasure To Be Found In Rooting Against Enemies

61 posts in this topic

Honestly, I just want to see good games. The only pleasure I get seeing these teams lose is when the Ravens are the ones beating them.

Nahhhh not me whobilly. I DO NOT want to see the Cheatriots win. They don't deserve it. Steelers?? I'd rather see them go on than the Bungles. And as far as the Redskins, I like Kirk Cousins. I like his swagger. I also like Alex Smith. I'm an underdog rooter.

But I would love to see the Broncos, P*triots, Steelers, and Bengals all get booted... I'll root for the NFC this year for my own personal satisfaction...

I'd never say I'm rooting for the Steelers so let's just say I'm rooting against the Bengals. While we were the NFL's poster child this year for bad luck, misfortune or "karma" (for those still hung up on the Ray Rice ordeal), the anti-Ravens were the Cinncinnati Bengals.

Not a single player of consequence on IR. Only 3 guys on IR for that matter. People will be quick to point out Andy Dalton's thumb, ok, fair point, but look how loaded the rest of that roster is.

The sheer amount of good fortune the Bungles have relied on to get to the playoffs is just obnoxious.

You go and take all the equivalent starters we lost during the season off of any single roster in the league and then ask yourself, "would it be reasonable to expect this team to succeed?" Nope.

when the ravens play the redskins of course i want the ravens to win but when the colts moved away i rooted for the skins until baltimore got a team back and as a fan of the skins they went to 4 superbowls and won 3 of them so i still have a heart for them and am rooting for them to go all the way and hopefully it is against the broncos or chiefs.  i am also rooting for marvin lewis to finally get over his playoff hump against the squeelers

If we're not going to be in it, I'd like someone in our division to do so.

In that case, I'd root for Cinci because we've seen them grow over the past few years and I knew they were going to be a problem before long. Ya, they have choked in the playoffs in the past but They've gotten closer every year and I think this year could be their time.

As far as NE goes, I hope they get their buts kicked badly and Lady Brady has a meltdown on the field! I'd like their reign of terror to end!

My god, are we really that big of a hater, that we get pleasure out of watching other teams lose, just because we didn't make the playoffs smdh. C'mon eisenberg

Fine ... go ahead and root for the Steelers then. Sorry, but I'm not.

If I had to play this thing out in my head I'd say Steelers beat Bengals while Dalton is out. Kansas beat Houston so they can play NE based on seeding. KC beat NE in Div round, Broncos beat Steelers Div round. Don't care between Broncos and KC although I don't think I will ever forget how arrogant Bronco's fans seemed to have been in the Ravens SB year. But if I had to choose if one went all the way between Steelers and Bengals, it'd be the Bengals. Am I allowed to think sometimes that they've suffered enough? lol. Not to say that five "1 and done's" in the playoffs wouldn't be a laughing point as well though.

I might be alone in this, but I hate the Bengals more than the Steelers right now. We have owned the Steelers (won the last 8 of 11) and the Bengals have owned us. It would be so sweet if the Bengals, having their best season since the 80s, had yet another playoff loss, and end their season no different than any other the past half decade. The Bengals' 25 year streak without a playoff win (longest in the NFL) is something I want to see stay alive. I find it hilarious.

I lived in Virginia so I'm defiantly routing for Redskins. I hope I live to the day Ravens play Redskins in a Super Bowl. As for enemies, there are only two New England and Pittsburg

I have been following the Ravens since 96 and a fan ever since. I've never liked the Skins ever. Having said that however, I'm still rooting for them. Don't know why but I like to root for the underdog.

I have not and nor will I ever root for the Steelers. I will take this to the grave. The proposition of it physically makes me ill. You owe me a bottle of Pepto Eisenberg.

I just don't want to hear the Steeler fans bragging about another Superbowl ring.. I think I might be a Bengals fan.

I have to root for the Bengals, with Raven former coaches leading them (Lewis/Jackson). The steeler fans more so than the players are too obnoxious to have to deal with if they win.

This ones easy.
I hate, yes hate the steelers but have grown to hate the patriots more. Even though the bengals have gotten the best of us a lot lately I don't really care what they do. That may change if they finally win one in the post season. The redskins suck but I kind of like Cousins. I thought he may have a future after he came in and beat us at the end of that game where Ngata crippled rg3. That loss felt awful. Maybe I just like that he helped to quiet all the rg3 hype. And let's not forget about the colts. I was little when they left but will resent them until they are owned by someone not named Irsay.

To be honest, when the Ravens are not in the playoffs, I really don`t care who wins or loses.

That's pretty much how I feel. Although I do kind of like when new teams get to play big games. I get a bit tired of the same old teams (NE for example) being in the big games. I may be wrong, but I just have a feeling KC may go far. I'm kind of rooting for them. No particular reason, although I've always thought Reid was a good Head Coach. They also (I think) were 1-5 at one point earlier in the season and completely turned it around. I'll watch all the games and just keep looking forward to the Draft.

Younger fans can even ask their grandparents how it felt. I remember watching Sammy Baugh shove it down our throats (1952). I was 15. Even their marching band playing "Hail to the Chief" was better than our marching band. Over the past years, I've been getting the last laugh and loving it.

A pleasure in seeing another team lose? Nah. As a matter of fact it causes this poster to pick a team to root for although obviously not with the passion that one roots for the Ravens. I'll go with the Redskins this time because of the drubbing they took in the press earlier in the year and the marked improvement of Cousins who this poster felt had the goods all along.(talk about taking a drubbing with that prediction):) But really, just hoping to see some quality football.

I may be one of a small few Ravens fans that will be rooting for the Steelers to beat the Bengals today. I really dislike the Bengals lately. I just feel they are a dirty team. I think it is funny that they have never won a playoff game under Marvin Lewis. Oh, and there is that personal matter between Marvin and me. After today, I do not want to see the Steelers go any further. The Colts will always be at the top of my most despised list.

Well, the good news is Ravens fans can sit back and watch the Steelers and Bengals beat each other up without having to worry about anymore of our players getting injured in the process.

Is it absolutely unacceptable that I couldn't care less if my depended on it, who'll win? Not my teams, so I don't really care.

Been a Ravens fan, Steelers hater forever. However I've developed a strong appreciation for the offense they've been able to build over the past few years. Big Ben, Brown, Bryant, Bell & Williams. It is an exciting and efficient offense to watch. I wish the Ravens could get close to that explosiveness. Yes, I know we beat them twice this year and they've had their down games but so have the Ravens, many more actually.

You can't be a true Ravens fan and root for the Steelers under any circumstances. Steeler fans never root for the Ravens. Just the way it is.
