Per Garofolo:

Raiders making strong push for OL Kelechi Osemele. I'd call them the favorites. As I tweeted earlier, it'll be for more than $10m per year.

Yeah, also reported that Vikings are going to be big players for him as well.

At this point, hard to see a path to him returning.

This is what I don't understand how some people think we could have retained him.  He and his agent knows the Ravens cap situation and they also know there is numerous teams out there with massive amounts of money that need help on the Oline.  There was no reason for him not to go to FA and see whats offered.  If he gets offered roughly the same, we could see him return, but teams like Vikes, Jags, Raiders can easily afford to give him more than us and still have plenty of cap room.

What is our cap situation at the moment?

Other positions I get, but I really do hate losing players on the o-line. Chemistry and consistency amongst the line is huge.

Rand Getlin :(

When the market opens tomorrow, Kelechi Osemele will become the newest member of the #Raiders. The two sides have an agreement in principle.

Reportedly, the Vikings are highly interested in KO, but as a Guard rather than a LT. AND... it still sounds like he would get north of $10M as a Guard.

I just can't get my head around that.

I'm surprised we never heard any injury concerns about KO during the whole FA process. Big fan of KO and wish him success in OAK, but he hasn't played a full season since he was a rookie and even when he played 14 games in 2014 he had those lingering back issues that seemed to affect his play.

KO leaving really sucks!  We're almost backed into a corner to pick Stanley w/ our 6th pick.

I really wanted an instant impact defensive player w/ our 1st round pick.  Oh well!

OK Monroe, you better have a "comeback player of the year" type of performance this year.

At least this deal sounds like its going to be so huge, surely it will get us a 3rd round comp pick in the 2017 draft

Yup, stinks to lose him but this is the silver lining

This KO situation reminds me of Ben Grubbs ... sucks to see him go but in the end, we'll find a replacement (ultimately KO was Grubbs replacement).

I wouldn't be opposed to drafting OT in 1st and a guard in the 2nd and sure up our O-Line for the future.

It more than likely won't get us a third round pick. As discussed in the free agency thread.

Jason Spriggs, round 2 it looks like.

Keep Monroe for one more year and then move spriggs to LT

If I were you, I wouldn't bet on Spriggs being available in day 2.

I just don't see how Stanley won't be the pick at 6. The only other options is picking up a LT in free agency or trade back into the first round and draft a developmental type guy to groom for a year.

The FO isn't dumb enough to go into the year with Monroe and Hurst.

I think I'd lose my mind if they went o-line in the first and second round considering how bad this team needs a pass rusher for the future (and possibly present).

I do not want us to pick Stanley at #6. There will be better talent at that pick. I hope we look to free agency for a tackle.

I dont get it.  $10M a year for a dude who really cant stay on the field.  And arent his injuries back related?  I dont see back issues just going away and especially on a 300 lb linemen.

He missed 2 games in 2014 and 2 in 2015 due to knee injuries.  He missed most of the 2013 season b/c of his back and hasn't missed any games since b/c of his back.

We're not the only team, that needs a LT and there is a big drop off after Spriggs (who might be gone in the first round), imho. People really hate, that Stanley might be our pick (I don't, btw). But, if we don't pick him, we're officially gambling with the health of a QB we recently invested alot of money into. Will there be someone in the second round, who can protect Joes blindside effectively in his rookie season (I doubt it)? Are we trading into the second round (In that case will there be someone willing to trade with us and how many draft picks would we have to use up just to get a Spriggs or Conklin)? Or do we just trust Monroe to come back healthy and better than before (even when healthy, he looked kinda mediocre)? That Pacman Jones signing might be more important than we want to admit (that would atleast solve our CB problem and we won't have to adress it early).

Exactly. The Raiders also have a ton of cap space, so they can take a chance on a young OL player with some injury issues. It won't hurt them much.

Yeah, knee and back problems on a linemen...no thanks!  Especially at $10M+.

Not surprised KO went to the highest bidder. Already won a Super Bowl so all there is left is to be the best guard or tackle you can be and get a ton of money while doing it.

Think we should sign a LG to replace KO and get some depth behind Monroe in the draft in the second or third and hope for a bounce back season from Monroe, because Stanley isn't Tunsil and I don't think he'd be BPA at that pick when we have a need for a pass rusher, receiver and a corner.
