49 other QBs in his position before him. Josh Norman after him. None pouted like a 2 yr old and walked out.

they asked him the same exact question over and over, they might as well have been saying "hey cam, do you feel stupid for celebrating your wins and not being happy about your losses?" and "how badly do you think the world is going to make fun of you now?"

49 times other QBs and other players have stood in his position and answered the same question over and over, framed just a bit different. Some of his teammates faced the same after him. Stop reaching for excuses for him. You suck it up, act like an adult and deal. He's a petulant child.

He is very competitive and put on a great effort while his team let him down. He has a right to be upset.

And by the way, stop acting like A. You have been in That position and could have done better and B. No other player has gotten upset about losing the super bowl.

Quit acting like this hasn't happened to numerous players before him and they acted like a sore loser like he did. No one expected him not to be upset. He was just expected to act like an adult and not like a child storming off and taking his marbles with him.

And please. Everyone alive has wanted something more than anything and most managed not to act like petulant child if it didn't happen. So yep. Everyone has been in his position, it just wasn't THE Superbowl.

Everyone is really reaching with the excuses for his behavior when there is no excuse. Want to call yourself Superman? Want to excessively celebrate and then taunt other teams by telling them "don't want to see me celebrate? then stop me from scoring". Broncos did that, so man up and be an adult.

Best take on his behavior and putting it in perspective:

The fact is this: In the bright light of Monday morning, far from the emotion of winning or losing Super Bowl 50, the truth for Cam Newton depends on what he does next. He was a petulant jerk for those three minutes. But that doesn't mean he has to be one going forward.

That'll be up to him, not us

Ugly game, defense dominated and the better defense came through and won it. Their pass rush and overall speed was pretty incredible. Peyton did nothing to help them win but it did not matter, defense won that championship.

Von Miller was all over the field. Obviously the pass rush but ducking into coverage - the play where Cam Newton scrambled, MIller left his man, and met Newton on the sidelines with force. It was a nice, legal hit - such a good hit that a Panthers player felt he had to defend Newton's honor after it.

Aqib Talib is a fool and did his best to cost his team, earning about every foul the refs could give. Same guy who eye-gouged a Colts player. What can you say about him?

Even though Gary Kubiak left us, you have to feel good for him. First guy to win a SB as the head coach of the same team he played for. It meant a lot to him, and he has been gracious to the Ravens and John Harbaugh the whole way.

It's impossible to talk about that Denver defense and NOT talk about the mistakes Cam Newton made. He's the OPOY, MVP, etc but came up very small in the game and after the game. The fumble dance was weird and basically inexplicable, he just didn't want to go for it in the biggest moment of his career thus far... It looked like Denver was faster than he anticipated and they were not afraid to hit him.

He tried to Belichick the press conference but came off more as a sore loser than grumpy curmudgeon - not that either are very befitting. Answer the dumb questions and leave, every player has to do it, it's annoying but you get paid for it, only becomes a story when you make it an issue. He's never been a decent loser but he had all eyes on him tonight.

May not be fair to single out Newton but, when you invite the spotlight, you better perform well. Still can't get over the fumble thing... Thomas Davis and his busted forearm would've jumped on that thing if he could. It was weird. Something that Vine and Youtube capture for eternity.

Feel bad for Michael Oher, that was a bad game.

thank you, i mean he just got embarrassed in the biggest game of his life, and they kept asking him the same question. i mean he could have handled it better but i am not surprised he walked out.

I wouldn't resort to petty name calling. Really make you look like a weak person judging others when you have never been in his position before. None of us could possibly know the emotions that he was going through. I would rather him walk out before he says something he would later regret. If he called out his offensive teammates for their piss poor performance, he would have been crucified even more. Sometimes when you have nothing good to say its best not to say anything at all. Seriously people look like losers kicking a man when he's down.

He is 5 year veteran pro, with more experience with media than most players. If you don't know what to say or you're pissed off, there's always 4-5 sentences blueprint you can use so you don't look like complete jerk. He isn't the first QB to lose SB but sure is one of the most pathetic losers out there.

I'm pretty sure he gave Denver credit by saying they " they out played us" over and over since they were asking the same damn questions over and over again. Yea he could have handled it better, but to Belittle the man by calling him names and kicking him when he's down is really making you all look like little trolls yourself. Seriously, he made mistake. Let the man learn before treating him like a criminal.

jerk/punk != criminal

Cam isn't a graceful winner either, so he'll deserve most of what's coming his way.

He could have committed 1% of the time he commits on preparing TD celebrations on what to say in case Donkies beat them. Everything would have been OK.

Yea because he bashes his opponents after he wins, like the Broncos are doing. But hey the Broncos aren't jerks though. Cam sure makes alot of headlines talking trash about his opponents doesn't he?

when he threw that hissy fit in the endzone at the end i got a little annoyed, i just said "come on cam youve handled it well dont embarrass yourself now that its out of reach.." and he composed himself from there on out.

i think the fact that he is that upset is a great sign. if he acted like he didnt care then everybody would be saying "hes just a thug whos in it for the money, he doesnt care!", damned if ya do damned if ya dont. cam newton loves the game of football, its what he lives for, and its obvious, nobody will ever have to question whether or not he is motivated, he would probably do this for a 100k a year salary if he had to.

i just cant fathom why ANYONE in their right mind, can call a PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYER, a punk, or a thug, or a showboat, or classless, when they show that they love the game of football and want to win.

Thug. Man, that word gets thrown around often, doesn't it? What a shame. Like when Sherman had that infamous post-game interview.

No one is saying he's a criminal. Please. Pointing out his pathetic behavior is not equal to calling him a criminal. Trying to make that claim is just some lame attempt to deflect from his bad behavior.

They always ask everyone the same old questions over and over. Perhaps if he hadn't been so busy pouting and had managed to give some credible answer they wouldn't have kept peppering him with questions. There are plenty of examples of how to act like a grown up when you're disappointed because you lost the SB. There are 49 years of them. He should have put some film study in if he was that clueless.

Belicheat pulls that same crap with the media, and people call him brilliant for it.

And yeah, the Broncos rubbing salt in the wounds is every bit as poor sportsmanship. Talib made a complete fool of himself and should have been ejected.Total embarrassment all the way around.

Really a shame people are focused on this crap, taking the spotlight off of Peyton, who has been nothing but gracious in both victory and defeat, and wouldn't behave like that in a million years.

He did storm off the field without shaking hands after the SB loss to the Saints' but to his credit, composed himself, gave them credit during his presser and even semi-explained his behavior.

So now your saying he doesn't study film? Who are you to judge when you never been in his position? He took the loss hard, and decided not to speak instead of throwing his teammates under the bus. To me Cam is not a punk, he's a young kid who loves the game alot. He never lost on the big stage like that before so you can't say (act like you been there before) when he hasn't. But I'm done debating this. You people have your opinions and I have mine.

What cam did was less than this. Cam spoke to and congratulated the other team. He also gave the Broncos all their credit. He did all the same things Peyton did but didn't storm off the field.

You're showing your bias in the most blatant way.

Study film on how to act like an adult after a loss. Wasn't referencing studying game film.

Nope. Disagree.

Walking off the field without shaking hands, heat of the moment thing, emotions are raw. Not defending it, Peyton took the heat for it at the time as well. Peyton also composed himself enough to give an actual presser, did not pout, did not storm out, and gave credit to the other team in real sentences without sulking.

Don't know why everyone feels some need to defend bad behavior. Doesn't make him a criminal, or a thug. Makes him immature. He needs to grow up.

As far as I'm concerned they are worse than jerks. NE school breeds special kind of jerk.

You said one was worse. That isn't fact - that is your opinion. I explained why I disagree. Might also point out that I am the person who answered the one who said Peyton wouldn't act like that in a million years with this information.

You are the one disregarding facts - he acted like a petulant child in his presser. Period. That isn't my opinion, that is the opinion of 99% of the sports world, not fans, but writers, former players, etc.

Newton acted like a spoiled kid. He couldn't handle the adversity during the game, or after. I can't believe people are trying to defend his behavior, it was pitiful. And while belicheat's behavior is a bore as well, he isn't out there doing dances and celebrations on first downs and tds,   lol    You put yourself in the spotlight during good times, have the cojones to own the bad times as well.

And how does he defend not trying to recover that fumble? How can he face his teammates? If memory serves, he fell apart in a similar way last year in the playoffs. Mentally, maybe he just can't handle the inevitable adversity.

Seems the crowning of king Cam was premature.

Another thing that goes unnoticed in Newtons celebrations is this: When someone like Peyton Manning or Joe Flacco gets excited over a play, they are excited for their teammates, for the play that they made. When Newton is dancing around the field, he is celebrating himself.
