[News] Eisenberg: Ravens' Continuity Philosophy Comes From The Owner

It's not rocket science. When you've only got your original starting RG and RT left by year's end, you can't blame the record on anything BUT injuries.

Amen to that guys. There is always next season to look forward to. Injuries will heal. The young guys will be sifted through and sorted in or out. We have a low draft pick as well. I hope our Ravens have a relaxing off season. Hopefully some of our disgruntled fans will get over it and move on.

Making wholesale changes may sell with the fan base, who want a quick-fix and, often, a scapegoat, but our owner is smarter than that. You have to look no further than our division -- the Cleveland Browns. Could ANY team change coaches more often than they do? And they continue to spiral downward. That Art Modell was a smart guy. Bisciotti is even smarter to listen to him, and his own instincts.

Please tell me this is sarcasm.  They were 2-4 when Flacco went down.

Art Modell left Cleveland because he didn't want to share suite revenue with their baseball team who was also using the football stadium. When the Cleveland Braves built their own stadium Art's revenue dropped drastically prompting him to find a new city who had enough money to build a top of the line stadium as well as support the team. Smart yes, but nothing to do with changing of coaching staff. Steve have enough money and humbleness to honor a handshake and cherish a friendship. Harbaugh's coaching staff seems to be mostly built on friendship and not dominate talent. It's like playing pickup basketball and picking your friends before picking up the guy that can dunk on anyone because he's a stranger.

One interesting segment of this press conference was the discussion around DeCosta. They said it's like having 2 GMs and Eric takes control of the draft room. I found that interesting since it seems like Ravens have been missing in recent drafts. I wonder if OZ will be more involved. I expect a more aggressive approach to getting talent either draft or free agency.

That's not true, Art moved because the city of Cleveland wouldn't help fund a new stadium. The old dog pound was a crappy stadium. He asked the city to help many times but they chose to build the Cleveland Indians a new stadium and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame instead.

Those disgruntled fans heard this same song and dance last season too.

It gets old when the same old problems come about every year.

If you doubt the impact of lack of continuity, you need only to check out the Cleveland Browns. That kind of settles the issue. OK, you believe in the staff Steve, so shall we! GO RAVENS!

Steve B... sat up there and protected everyone(Harbs,Ozzie) in the Public eye.... but no doubt behind closed doors or once in Florida next week, he will give them the truth. "It aint good enough, and another year like this and heads roll"

Takeaways from presser..

They talked about sizzle overall impact on defense..needing multiple pass rushers

They talked about adding one possibly two Wrs in draft or free agency, needing speed

They talked about playcalling and kack of a run game from Trestman. Lowest runs in Ravens history I believe. Get back to Ravens identity run the ball, balance. 14 games decided by 8 points ir less so 14 games that werent blowouts...no Excuse to abandon run game even if your going against great run defenses

Typical we are good and will get through this together. Just what I expected. Smoke and Mirrors. Unity has to be shown by the org. management. You can bet that things will be happening in the off season to get back to what is expected from the team on the field. But, losing key coaches year after year is not going to help the cause. Through the years I have seen this play a large part in the overall chemistry on the team. The RAVENS organization seems to be the training ground for NFL coaches and even the Scouting Dept for that matter. Just add up those losses since 2005. Most of us would be very surprised after seeing the list and who is actually on it.

I still can not believe Ozzie said these things. The Ravens could go into next season not restructuring Joe's contract, and he did not know about Perriman's knee when all he had to do was Google. These do not even sound logical as face value. Yea they could be true but then you have a bigger issue.

Watch it. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut and if that happens instead of finishing third the last three years it could become 4th.

And the reason the baseball team wanted a stadium is for more revenue because they couldn't get a share of the suite revenue. Do the research and you'll see how much money art lost.

I just finished watching the SOTR end of season presser. I must say that I really enjoyed it and have a better understanding of Bisciotti's mindset and how he chooses to proceed going forward. I feel better hearing from him! I've always said this about him and will continue to do so...Bisciotti is one cool cat!
