[News] No Overhaul For Ravens After Losing Season

16 posts in this topic

Before Flacco got injured, this team was not overmatched once, even against a couple SB contenders. The losing record was a fluke, not a habit. An overhaul is not needed. Get healthy, add a few players, and come back and contend again.

This offseason is about two primary themes, playmakers in the passing game and pressure creators in pass defense. We've got guys that do that for us now, unfortunately both of them are waaaay on the wrong side of 30. If you still need a hint, both tore their achilles'es's this season.

We've got the 6th overall pick in the 1st and the 2nd round (which is practically still 1st round talent), let's nail this thing. To quote Rod Blagogevic "It's a 《bleeiping》valuable thing!"

Italians have, like Bisciotti, a sense of goodness. We make love not war. We live by Verdi opera. The only thing on earth where the heroine dies singing.

I came away from this interview feelin really good about this team. Then again I pretty much always do. Generally I don't watch other teams pressers much or even know many owners - but if I were to guess I really don't think many of them are as open and honest as steve. I always come away feeling like in a way i almost know him and Ozzie on a personal level. We've got a great FO guys and we are lucky to have them running the show.

No overhaul needed the Ravens beat the hottest team in football with backups on Offense! I'm sorry but my only concern is "Is Joe utilizing his players correctly"?! Because like I said we beat the hottest team in football so they say with backups on Offense! "Get Healthy"

Ozzie Newsome has drafted poorly for the last 7 years. Only one all pro, Mosley, and he can't cover anybody. Instead of bolstering the defense, they take some lame wide receiver, Perriman, who has a history of dropping passes, from a mid level program, as their last number one pick. Rememeber Kindle and Elam? Both wasted number one draft choices. No changes? Seriously? Look for another lost year in 2016.

I would have to disagree and say Washington was hotter than the Squeelers going into the playoffs. Also, in terms of drafting, I really don't think we've done a solid job for the past five years- it seems like all the fans know this but the front office doesn't want to admit it- additionally, we have so much dead money on players that can't play- physically or not.  I'd be very, very surprised if we made the playoffs next year- I believe it's going to be 2017 that we'll at least be more competitive.   We have an aging team, and the last five drafts really haven't laid out a solid foundation of younger players for the future.  Washington's  2015 draft, on the other hand, was rated top 3 this year by Kiper.  They also suffered a ton of injuries this year, but they played 4 of 6 of their 2015 draftees this year, plus countless free agents.  I can't believe I'm even comparing the Ravens to Washington, but the tides are turning a bit since the new GM Mccloughan arrived.

The bottom line is the ravens need playmakers @ key positions in order to become a great team, again (FS/CB/WR/OLB/DE). If the compensatory picks turn out as projected, the ravens could have 3 third round picks. They could supplement the CB/WR/DE positions in that round. I feel like the ravens pretty much nailed the 2015 nfl draft (yup, i'm not giving up on perriman). It'll be interesting to see how the 2015 draftees look w/ a year of NFL caliber strength training. If the ravens can knock the 2016 draft out of the park, they'll have a nice foundation to build upon.

The ravens don't need a full on rebuild. They just need a few playmakers here & there that are able to flip possessions. Sacks, turnovers & touchdowns, people. Improve those aspects of the squad and the ravens become a much more threatening team. The only concern i have w/ this team's trenches is the left side of the offensive line. Monroe is constantly hurt & kelechi may be too pricey to keep. Hopefully, jensen is ready to play starting left guard. The ravens need to address the backup LT position. Hurst is just bad.

I have faith that the FO will address these needs.

"20 plays on injured reserve"? Typical unprofessional "writing". Mink HAS to be related to someone in the FO. Every time he posts an article, I just chuckle and count all the mistakes.

I thought that this state of the Ravens, unlike others, was merely pandering to the audience. In previous sessions, the whole panel seemed to be more open and honest with the fans and in this session they seemed to be rounding up the wagons and taking cover and saying what they thought would make the least waves. Like the Flacco stuff where the FO office told us it was a no-brainer to restructure him this year. Apparently, there are no brains making the decisions because that seems to be the answer they want us to believe. I just think that this was a waste of time. It's almost like they were so used to coming to the podium without a losing record, that they just didn't know what to say or how to act and they just sat up there and BS'ed and told people what they thought they wanted to hear. I really hope when Bisciotti gets these guys to Florida, he acts like an owner that wants to see success instead of one that is so overwhelmed by failure, he doesn't know how to act, like a deer in headlights.
