[News] Ravens Making No Changes At Coordinator

39 posts in this topic

I may be in the minority, but I think these guys deserve at least another season. Trestman was a victim of circumstances beyond his control, we have a very young receiving group which lacks top end talent, plus having Flacco go down didn't award him with the opportunity of turning things around. I'm not the biggest Pees fan, but our defense did improve towards the end of the season, and our secondary is still a weakness. Give these guys more talent. A top rush linebacker in the draft, a healthy Perriman and Smith, healthy Flacco, Suggs, Forsett, a legit #2 corner, and hope Jimmy's down season was due to him shaking off his Linsfranc injury.

Pees is over the hill & should be replaced, be prepared for another losing season next year. When will Harbaugh learn, Get rid of Pees & hire a young DC who can relate to this

generation of players.

If they really made all the moves mentioned by fan base the Ravens would for one be totally over the cap and a member of the coaching staff would be fired every week. They look at the overall picture, not reacting on a short term impulse.

Everyone seems to think they can do a better job at running this team than the people who do it. If we fired everyone on knee-jerk reactions we'd look like...oh I don't know...the Browns?? They hire/fire people as much as we WANT out team to. There is a reason why most of our head coaches get cherry picked to become head coaches or coordinators with other teams. Despite what some think, they're pretty good.

With a one week exception during this season I've defended Deen Pees, and that one week Harbaugh stepped up and admitted he was the culprit behind calling for blitzes with guys that couldn't create pressure and leaving our CBs on an island in man coverage.

Pees is this year's Juan Castillo. No one REALLY knows how his job contributes to the product, and they pin the failure of injured and substitute players to perform squarely on his shoulders. Castillo was vindicated and so too will Pees.

Let's hope the continuity with the coaching staff produces better results on defense and allows us to build on what we started on offense. Obviously Harbaugh sees something he likes with the direction we're headed on both sides of the ball, so I'm choosing to be positive about the decision.

Strongly disagree, this team needs a new Secondary coach and wde receiver coach. the ravens have been comletly unable to developany players they draft at these positions for about 4 years now. Marlon Brown, Reed, Omar Brown, Matt Elam, Terrence Brooks, Chykie Brow. All our starters at these positions are veterans that were coached up somewhere else....There is starting to be a trend

agreed. These guys know what they were doing. If pees was the problem he would be out. Really our players just need to perform better and actually catch the ball when it hits them right in the hands. How many dropped interceptions did we have this year? 10? Is that pees fault? He had to work with a lot of scraps once again and still managed to get it turned around and give us the #1 passing defense in the second half of the season.

It's a shame that the team isn't willing to part with woefully under performing coaches in the same way they've parted with under performing players. I would propose re-evaluating some of the coaching staff, particularly on the defensive side. There's one specific leader on that side I'm talking about, of course! Go Ravens!

in harbaughs 8 years here we have had only 2 seasons of organized chaos. his 1st season with rex and the one season with chuck. wonder if he has a problem with aggressive defenses that shut offenses down. i guess he prefers defensive coaches like mattison and pees that are older and not innovative enough to come up with more aggressive schemes. hope he made the right choice.

So the Ravens are going into 2016 with bunch of rookie draft picks, same coaches, and injury recovering group of starters and top it off with playing tuff New England's conference. This will be interesting.

What funny is seeing all the guys that left the team like Jah Reed on playoff teams. No its not coaching. Could not be that.

Keeping Pees is a good move if you want consistency, especially since no other teams will be looking to offer him a head coaching gig !

No I wanted pees to be gone now, we did the same thing with cam cameron and we realized he just was bad and it wasn't getting better

I'll give trestman another chance because we had really no talent (even though I'm sorry to say the offense was struggling before injuries because of trestman bad playcalling) but pees I'm tired of him! Also our offense does not sound intimidating smith is what 37 and were treating him like a #1 still when he should be a # 2 rotating between 3 like fitz we still need that star #1 WR. Forsett is really not the answer for our running back, though he has great vision he was a product of our line, buck allen is a #2 at best I can tell so we still need a true #1 back still. I agree on the need for a pass rusher and corner 100% as suggs and doom are getting close to retirement and jimmy needs someone on that other side.

That's where I'm coming from. With that being said it would be nice to see either a well-known vetted veteran fill our recent vacancy at LB coach. Like a Rob Ryan or former DC or HC. Kinda like when we were able to scoop Spagnuolo. Maybe it can help offset or nullify Pees' negative traits or bring back the fluency our defense has been lacking. Either way it can't hurt.

Can't wait for the Ravens to draft a corner and watch & seeing Pees make him play 8 yards off his receiver every down. Good job boys

Pees and Trestman were never the problem- it was the lack of players, either on IR or people on the team as a result of bad drafts... How can you expect them to make cake with sand? Anyhow, we'll be better next year, but we're not making the playoffs in 2016. It'll be closer to 2017-2018. It seems like we've slowly been losing it over the past 3 years.

We should have fired Pees and made Monachino our DC just to keep him here. Pees does not have the kind of upside as a positional coach and as a players coach as Ted does. We'll see what the future holds, but this has a potential to come back and haunt us in the long run.
