[News] My Voice: Lessons Learned In A Losing Season

14 posts in this topic

That's the mind set that RL52, and Reed has instilled into this organization, and Harbs is the perfect coach to continue that mindset....Play like Raven means never quitting, and never pouting and placing blame on your teammates...Love this team...

Great article Justin!!!  This and other word's by the players expressing a no-quit attitude is a direct reflection of the coaching and the respect for each other.  This is what the "fire harbaugh" bandwagon folks just don't get.  Harbaugh is easily the best coach this organization has ever had.  Great Job Coach!!

Really good piece. Just goes to show what a really good job the coaching staff did in a uncharacteristic year, especially Harbaugh. Really makes you proud to be a Raven Fan.They didn't give up. They finished hard with all they had.

Good to get this contrasting perspective from Forsett regarding the morale/effort collapse or decline of other losing teams compared to the " keep fighting" mindset maintained by the Ravens. Despite the strain by losing so many games, the ability and determination to keep morale high, fight as a unified team and preserve a winning culture is pretty amazing to me. I am very hopeful that seeking and demanding this high standard will be a huge factor in our ability to successfully rebound next year.

There is no lessons for a team that lost so many to injury. How do you prepare for that? Hope that the market is good for FA replacements, hope your younger players are ready and stock up on draft picks in case of a trade. That is all you can do. Lets me honest, if all your players were "starter" quality or at least a game manager type, the more time he gets on film, the bigger his check will be once his contract expires.

One of the only teams to keep their cool when no calls were going there way. Easily could have been a play off team but the truth is they are not. With all the injuries and changes it was incredible how much success this team had. I cannot wait until next season I think Harbaugh showed why he is one of the best in the business this year.

this team needs to just stay healthy. i believe they made a big mistake in letting ted monachino go to the colts as i believe that some of these assistants that harbs has hired are not good enough. i do not believe pees is aggressive enough but i can only hope that all of these coaches improve.

This is a testament to the leadership we have and the continuity we have had in a place for a long time. OUR RAVENS will be back where we all expect them to be next year, and trust me as bad as we all felt about this season, OUR TEAM felt even worse. I cant wait for next season. RAVEN NATION for LIFE

I dont believe that we have learned any lessons if Pees isn't going to be let go? What lessons could we have learned? 1. That we need to expect to score 30 points per game to have a chance to win? 2. That not a single DB has played well since Pees got here? 3. That we have not been able to get off of the field on 3rd down since Pees got here? 4. That we make avg QB's look like HOF candidates since Pees got here? 5. That our players can excel in other places (before -Kyle Arrington, KLewis) but not here and that our players can excel in other places (after- DStewart and James Ihedigbo) but not here??????? 6. that our defense has grown softer and progressively worse since Pees got here? 7. that no one and I mean NO ONE fears our defense anymore? 8. That our defense was healthy this year and still under performed? 9. That we have spent a great deal of money and investment giving Pees a chance at this but he continues to squander it (think of the $$$$$ spent in FA signings and the draft picks on the defensive side of the ball that we have invested since Pees got here) and all we get in return in excuses! Have we learned that this guy cant find talent, buy talent, develop talent or even get talented players to play to their potential in this system? 10. That Harbs is too Loyal to his buddies and Biscotti needs to step in????? Those are the things we should have learned from this season and if we haven't learned those then I am afraid that we haven't learned anything that makes me believe 2016 will be a lot better!

I believe in the Ravens I'm all in and believe that next year they will be the Carolina Panthers of the AFC, can't wait! People blame and want to get rid of DC Pees, but the fact is the Ravens defense finished 8th overall. They had only 3 games that they lost by more than 8 points. I saw the Packers lose a couple of real stinkers back to back but they're in the playoffs. Ravens all year never got beat as bad as the Packers did.
