The Raven

End of Season Press Conference

I guess that I'm in the minority of those who enjoyed the presser and came away more confident in our team going forward?  I loved hearing from our owner.  Bisciotti is as cool as the other side of the pillow...RIP Stewart Scott!

as did I. It's like some fans are mad because the FO weren't depressed

I said this once this was over. They know what they need to do so I'm not worried...yet.

on my phone so I'll make a quick post. You don't have to have an elite guy at every position, you need good role players like our superbowl run

Agree with your post 110%.

However, am just as adamant that our Front Office didn't understand or appreciate that unique chemistry. If we can get that lightning to strike in the same place again, lets hope they can see it.

What made you confident? The blaming everyone but anyone actually involved? I mean, injuries, officiating, etc etc. The yes we're disappointed in a 5-11 season but we're going to stand pat and do it all the same next year? Oh but we'll add some players. Like that is something new? Don't we add players every season?

No one expected panic, yelling or screaming. But some accountability would have been nice and something about how and what is going to change INTERNALLY to prevent a repeat.

What you were looking to hear and what I wanted to hear are obviously two different things!

LOL

The "Pro Bowl" is a marker of a great player.

Brandon Williams SHOULD be a Pro Bowler. The Pro Bowl is a joke, but that goes without saying.

I think most fans were disapointed with them not saying, yes we didnt meets standards and well be making some changes. And than saying theyre gonna plan to go into the season with Joes cap hit. The single thing they even said worthwhile was that theyre planning on adding 2 receivers early. I dont want them to sound depressed. I want upbeat yeah we screwed the pooch this year, were gonna dump some dead weight and come back next year and donkeystomp the rest of the division.

lol that was literally the very first thing he said. And no, they never said they planned to go into the season with Joes cap hit. They said it had to be an option. Pretty big difference. No idea what presser you were watching.

I guess you want our owner being all woe is me panicking and giving a bunch of knee jerk reactions firing everybody when we lost 8 games by a touch down or less. Literally 1 player could be the difference in half of those games. We just need to nail this draft and get healthy. Oz has nailed every top 10 pick he's ever had. I don't know about you but I'd rather NOT become the browns, and I'm relieved our owner believes in continuity.

I think they did.

When Bisciotti talked about how Ray Lewis made everyone around him 10% better, and detailed the domino effect of losing Suggs, he was specifically talking about unique chemistry, and the need for players who bring that. Because of Lewis, I think our FO gets that way more than most. Re-creating it's not that easy, but I think they're trying.

KO should have been one last year, he was playing at an all pro level.

I also think Bisciotti gets it..."now".

However by their actions its clear the front office had no clue.  Worst yet since that mistake, they've compounded the problem with other missteps.

What are you gonna do?  I'm hoping Bisciotti is insightful enough to shorten the leash and tab a new pedigree.

If you look at the DT's who made it, Williams was not going to get in as a pyre run stuffer

People keep saying that we've had bad drafts these last few years and sure, we haven't found superstars but every time I look back at the drafts these last few years I see a bunch of solid to above-average starters as well as good rotational guys. Yes we've had some misses but what team hasn't?

WHAT HAS CHANGED, since we were unable to stop the Patriots with a 2 TD lead in last years playoffs?? NOTHING.

PEES is still here with his Crappy Zone Scheme, which better QB'S still pick apart.

I for one am sick of watching it, and ever sicker of Harbaugh thinking its good, because its still PUTRID.

Anything

What I'll hang my hat on is the fact that you didn't say "zone prevent defense". It's an improvement.

Anything is an improvement over that crappy zone, It prevents wins. Technique, scheme, lack of stupidity can be taught. Unfortunately, we are stuck with it for the forseeable future

I honestly highly doubt you could identify a zone defense pre-snap.

And btw, you beat the Bungles running downhill, North and South, not sideways.

I thought you beat the Bengals by getting them in a primetime or playoff game and then just sitting back and watching the magic happen.

That zone d sure looked good for the Steelers tonight.

We've woken the beast.

Sweeping the Steelers was fun.  But I don't want anymore of Steelers winning @ playoffs

I bet he wouldn't believe the Seahawks base defense is a zone defense.

Of course not. Zone defense is soft prevent crap, it ain't smashmouth defense! It ain't the Raven way! That's not how we do things! We were built on defense, and Pees has destroyed everything this franchise stood for! He's making us soft! Rah rah smashmouth hit somebody rah rah rah. Zone defense prevents winning man! You can't win a Super Bowl running that soft garbage.

I really hated how we used zone earlier in the year but we admittedly got better at it. Even the off man coverage got better.
