End of Season Press Conference

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the whole continuity thing? I mean yeah it's great to have the same coordinators 3+ years but if they last that long chances are they aren't doing a great job, I hear everyone preaching continuity but that's only part of what were built on, we were built on the continuity of similar coaches not the same guy for 4 years, it may suck to lose a OC or DC every year but that means we're doing something right. We have a "next man up" mentality not just for players but for coaches too, so when we get complacent with pees and start losing our quality position coaches then we're screwed when pees actually does leave.

I'm pretty sure they're refering to continuity at the top: President, Gm, HC. Other than Pees, who has been here for a few years, we've had huge turnover in our coachig staff as they keep getting poached. The top sets the direction that allows lower level coaches to develop and thrive.

That's a nice little assumption

Given that your Sig line is a guy that hasnt played a down in the NFL, and honestly may never Ill take your words with a grain of salt. Sure theres talent at the smaller schools that you can develop. But hmmm when a guy is playing against another than next week will be serving fries at McDs and another guy who will actually be drafted in the NFL thats kinda different. Sure some no name schools guys prosper. No doubt. But look at our own ring of honor. You dont see so and so from backwoods Georgia southern quandrant, no third from the middle baycocks up there, do ya?

That Brandon Williams guy must be pretty bad huh?

Right after mentioning how Monroe is still under contract. You know, the guy who by his own admission played,"pretty good"(when he was out there).

Translation;later,K.O

The team can't afford Osemele.  Why add another bad contract to one that already exists.  They would have to have a contract with a low cap hit first year and then increase dramatically each year.  Osemele is injured a lot too.  So you would face the same dilemma in a couple of seasons.  No more dumb contracts

Nah, Missouri Southern State are a powerhouse. Best team to never win a national title.

I was mostly referring to the people who use continuity as the reason Pees wasn't fired and them stating that firing Coordinators every year will make you end up like the Browns or the Bucs but I just don't buy it. If someone generally under performs for 3 or 4 years then maybe it's time for something new, I mean pees has by no means been awful but we could do waaaaay better IMO.

? Your sig is pro bowl perriman. What does Williams have anything to do with it?

Just responding to you know your post?? Not sure why a sig has to do with anything being discussed here. You criticized Decosta for drafting small school guys I simply responded.

So what? Pees don't rush more than four and sometimes only three won't know what to do with them.

Harbs and his crap. Score more points and then we will get more turnovers. Really? Because when the offense was in the Top 7 Harbs, we STILL weren't getting turnovers. Pees is garbage. Another "friend" issue that will stay here way too long.

you're confusing pees with mattison. Pees can't coordinate the secondary to save his life but he is pretty brilliant calling the front seven.

Not when it comes to rushing the passer. He's just average all around.

Not sure I can agree with that when had the second most sacks a year ago. The loss of Suggs and Mcphee hurt the pass rush bad.

I'm not giving up on KO returning yet. I still think that's very much up in the air. I wouldn't read into his comments much. I mean, he just talked up Hurst lol. I can't take him seriously after that

I wish Delaware and Nicholls State weren't such well-established programs so they could aid the point.

My thoughts from the presser-

1) Ozzie reiterated that if he has to- he's perfectly comfortable going into the season with Joes cap # exactly the same.

I didn't understand it that way - thought he said FO will discuss the extension options in Florida next weekend but that they have to make sure they have a plan on building the roster with Joe's full hit on salary cap as well.

I did not hear "comfortable".

True no disagreeing there. Its a shame the second guy has fallen off quite a bit.

I haven't caught the conference yet, but the latter portion surprises me. I figured Hurst's performance would've been evident to the FO.

Yeah I didn't get that at all. They definitely have plans to talk with Joe's agent.

I said it over on RSR DeCosta and his Im smarter than everyone and grabbing no name school people and theyll be stars crap has to stop. I hope he goes to Tenn. Go sink like the scrub that went back to Cleveland.

Actually, it's the small school no-name guys who have really stepped up and panned out - Gillmore, BWill, Boyle, Jensen, Juice,Tali, Camp.... all starters.

It's the big-name top rounders that have been disappointing, all the way back to Kindle and Cody -  Elam, ABrown, and Perriman in particular.

Although I'm in the camp really pulling for Breshad to come back with a bang next year and silence the critics. It would also be really nice to nail the first three rounds this year - almost imperative.

One comment of interest was that DeCosta, not Ozzie, has been running the draft the last few years.

Well, Mod 3, since my computer kept cutting off the State of the Ravens video,I missed many comments, including the 1 you posted. Could you and the other Mods make sure that there is a link to the full video tomorrow? It was very frustrating and it appears as though others had the same problem. This is an important video and I am sure the many fans who could not watch/hear it today or were cut off constantly would like to access the entire thing. What was the problem with the video? Drove me nuts.

I think BP will be better than people think and if we do nail the first three round with starters or great role players we could really change in one off season

I see lot of people had issues - perhaps the quality was too high for mobile connections? It didn't drop once for me.

Thoughts and recap....

- Improve the WR depth through free agency and the draft. You need more capable bodies added to Perriman, Aiken and SSS.

- Add more pass rushers behind Suggs, Doom and Z.Smith. Young guys.

- Webb will probably be the starting FS next season. S.Wright will probably be the 3rd corner. Another starting corner is badly needed opposite Jimmy.

- Get the feeling Ozzie is fine with Monroe coming back as the LT.

- What happens with D.Smith? That's a tough position to replace. He isn't getting any younger.

- Tucker isn't going anywhere

- Forsett and Buck should continue to be the 1-2 punch next season. I love Bucks catching ability.

We mods don't post the videos. Keep an eye on the front page.

Not when it comes to rushing the passer. He's just average all around.

he does very well drawing up blitzes and has a great feel for when to call them. Its just that to often he gets scared and then on the rare case he does call the blitz in his scared phase, it's easy to pick up because he prefers to use his "ol reliables". He's just way too tentative in big moments and he has blown the chances of so many great teams for nearly a decade now

You clearly missed the class - his scheme is great, Jimmy Smith plays too tentative.
