End of Season Press Conference

Honestly, I didn't even try to watch the video. I just went to Turron Davenport's Twitter and went from there. Pretty informative for sure. Looking forward to the offseason more so now than before.

You see it your way, and I see it mine...  I guess I am more of a glass half full person....  I just don't know where you believe that the last 4 seasons have been the same...  it was only 3 that we won a Super Bowl... and the year before that, we were a catch and a FG from a Super Bowl....  Sometimes I just think people's expectations are a little high.

Steve's explanation of "the fan's views" of the officiating carries over to more than just the officiating....  That and the effect of losing Suggs... and how things impact...  Just sayin.

lol The defense blew a 28-6 lead in that SB. Almost lost it for us. Lucky for us we still had Ray and Ed on the field. Two of our last three seasons were not winning seasons. 18 games I believe it is, we've blown a lead in the 4th quarter. That is close to 60% of our losses coming when we held the lead in the 4th quarter and the defense failed. In that playoff game the defense blew not one, but two 14 pt leads. TWO! 14 POINTS! These are defensive issues that can be found every one of the four seasons Pees has been here.

Not to mention, issues found in his playoff history with NE as well.

Not going to lie, I'm laughing quote a bit at some of these comments. Making it sound like it's the end of the world... But with this kind of negativity, only place is to go is up

My thoughts from the presser-

1) Ozzie reiterated that if he has to- he's perfectly comfortable going into the season with Joes cap # exactly the same.

2) Ozzie confirmed that Webb's move to free safety is a permanent one and he will be part of this team moving forward.

3) we indeed did lose monachino to the colts.

4) Steve's urge to add pass rushers has not declined and probably has gotten stronger. He stated that they will add multiple guys via the draft or FA.

5) Ozzie also stated that WRs (plural) will be added. We can rest easy knowing we will not go into the season without addressing the position.

6) Bisciottis relationship with both John and Ozzie is stronger than ever and he definitely showed how much he values continuity. He said he has no more questions for them than he did after the superbowl win. This guy gets it, and I'm proud to have him as our owner. He has patience and really understands how this season just spiraled out of control.

7) they will continue to try and get a deal done with tucker- but if one is not reached oz said he is well aware of what the cost of franchising him will be- and pretty much implied he will do so if necessary and that Justin will also be a part of this team going forward.

These are just a few notes off the top of my head- my connection wasn't very good so I will have to go through and watch it again this evening.

And I have always agreed.... and Steve confirmed that today.  I've been waiting for him to say that for a while now....  Teams  blowing through coaches and coordinators doesn't help a team... Teams like Jacksonville, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Miami, etc.  Those teams that consistently are changing.... and they are never successful.   Trust me, I live in Florida.... I've lived down here for 19 years... and Tampa was BRIEFLY through Dungy and Gruden.   And in the end the continuity of staff actually helps a team to be successful.  Look at teams like the Patriots, Giants, Green Bay, Seattle, etc.  And then you Look at our OC situation....  4 OC's in 5 years....  and the discussion about "losing our identity" when it comes to the run...  that was talked about there too.

Good. Don't want to hear any of the excuses for Mr. Mediocre next season. Said it last season and everyone said "No, won't be an excuse next season" and yet that's all we hear.

Hate to see we lost Monachino....  Otherwise I don't know what folks were expecting.  I don't think you're gonna turn on a news conference and hear them announce that they were letting Pees go....  You had to know that teams would be coming after defensive coaches for their coordinators....  We finished #2 in Defense the second half of the year....

Steve also mentioned the domino effect of losing players and how that impacted our performance.  It's just my opinion, but I cannot believe that people cannot see that as a viable reason for why things went topsy turvy.

Time to move on and go into next season with some optimism about getting some holes filled.

Another key loss was McPhee. His versatility to rush inside and out gave us a lot of options and we've been pretty bereft in that department.

I wouldn't have been disappointed if Pees got moved on this offseason - we could do better. But I'm not going along with the doom and gloom cries yet either - we could definitely do worse. I just really hope he's learned from the last half of the season and we keep the simplified playbook. I have a slightly sinking feeling we'll go back to the same old, but I'm taking next season with an open mind.

Love our guys. Despite what some on here think, continuity is extremely important and shouldn't be overlooked. Sad we see so many great upcoming coaches like Ted M leave, but with the faith we continue to show, I definitely believe that attracts other upcoming coaches to want & come here when spots open. Look back these last 8 years & you'll see that...

Say what you will about Pees, (& early in the season I finally conceded it was time to let him go) but a lot has changed since then. Plus it was in heat of the moment & there was still some hope left. Injuries completely derailed the team. Lack of playmakers has been a constant problem. No one can honestly put all our struggles on Pees....

Totally agree what Biscotti said about Suggs. He hit it on the nail. Love that Ozzie & John emphasized the needs we still have at receiver & pass rusher, and plan to add multiple...

I'm feeling great about the direction the Ravens are heading. From top to bottom, we root for an organization that understands the important values to success. Tough season but I'm glad it's behind us now. We are sitting in a great place as far as already having pieces in place & great draft position. I'm expecting a major turnaround if our core can remain somewhat healthy, 2nd & 3rd year guys making a jump, & rookies having an immediate impact.

If Ozzie said he wants to add multiple Wide outs, in Ozzie talk that probably means we won't add any lol. I mean everyone on the entire team was so insistent the whole offseason that receiver wasn't a huge need last year then we get Perriman and Waller.

By no means am I trying to act like a smart-aleck or Pees defender, but I'm curious to know: what would your reaction be if our defense (if it stays healthy) is a top 10 defense throughout the ENTIRE season (not just the second half of the season)?

I am honestly surprised we're seemingly not firing any coaches. I like the idea of continuity but sometimes you need a change of scenery. I just don't want to lose Brooks. I'm not a fan of Pees anymore at all but I'll defer to the Ravens on it. I won't change my opinion just because the defense improved at the end of the year.

If the defense continues to fail then Steve only has himself to blame. I doubt Harbaugh will be fired even if we struggle next year. I don't even think Pees remains here because of Harbaugh like some but I think this is an organizational policy

One of the worst pressors Ive ever watched. I pray 90% of it was bs coach speak. No major changes? Really? Oh well go infuse more talent and that will fix the problem, all while Oz is saying hell keep Joes 28m cap hit like no big deal. What you want guys to play for free becaise of that? We just lost our best coach on the D side of the ball, but no major changes? Thats a pretty big one.

Almost all of that better be coach speak, otherwise you can see a max exidus in fans next year. Well still bleed purple, but forget getting our money going to the games, forget paying for sunday ticket, forget merchandise.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the whole continuity thing? I mean yeah it's great to have the same coordinators 3+ years but if they last that long chances are they aren't doing a great job, I hear everyone preaching continuity but that's only part of what were built on, we were built on the continuity of similar coaches not the same guy for 4 years, it may suck to lose a OC or DC every year but that means we're doing something right. We have a "next man up" mentality not just for players but for coaches too, so when we get complacent with pees and start losing our quality position coaches then we're screwed when pees actually does leave.

Based on Ozzie's comments on improving the receiving core I have a strong feeling WR will be were we go with 6.

Only one worth a pick that high is Treadwell and that's a reach IMO.

Treadwell in the top 10 is not a reach

One comment of interest was that DeCosta, not Ozzie, has been running the draft the last few years.

I noticed the same. It sounds like Eric is the one mainly in charge of the draft lately. I find that very interesting. I wonder if that's partly why some guys haven't panned out.

I also noticed how we never once mentioned Upshaw while discussing pass rushers. I don't think he'll be back.

Might be worth it. If Pees, the punter and the st coach stay as secondary coaches than we better start thinking about using Joe and scoring 35+ a game. And Trestman dont be like Cam and let up! Dont sit on a lead, keep scoring. Cause you can forget the D stopping anything.

I was almost floored there for a minute. I thought you were referencing someone else when you said "Mr. Mediocre".

I'm still amazed that folks just cannot see the shuffling of players in and out because injuries are mounting; and how these 21 players on IR negatively affects a team....  Key leaders at that.

KUDOS TO THE COACHES AND THE TEAM FOR HANGING IN THERE.

Lol I can't believe Ozzie talked up/mentioned James Hurst like he's an option at LT. That was the highlight of the video for me.

Right after mentioning how Monroe is still under contract. You know, the guy who by his own admission played,"pretty good"(when he was out there).

Translation;later,K.O
