End of Season Press Conference

Suggs' extension was a team-friendly deal designed to free up some cap space we sorely needed last year, with all the dead money we were carrying from Pitta, Haloti and Rice. That was a no-brainer.

Why Reid struggled so much here, yet seems to have found his niche elsewhere is a mystery. I do wish we'd held onto Michael Oher, though.

Uhhhh...I'm not sure how Ozzie has anything to do with Reid and Oher looking good elsewhere when he's not responsible for developing talent. I also doubt he's the only one involved in cutting a player. I'm sure the head coach and coordinator have input on both. Maybe the players just didn't get it here and it's nobody's fault but their (player) own?

Thanks.  What I do not get is why we gave Suggs a deal at all after he turned 30... The misfiring on talent evaluation (draft choices, contracts, trades, releases) is almost stupendous at this stage.  I give Harbaugh 100% credit for getting the most out of what is arguably one of the worst hands ever dealt to a coach in this league.

maybe because he has been the anchor for this defense for years. Has been a great pass rusher, leader, and there was no reason not to give him a deal. Last year he still had a very productive year... No reason to pay him

Don't know bout you guys but my feed keeps going in & out. Shame.

Yeah mine too. I thought it was because I'm in Brazil, but apparently not.

Will the app make this available later? Trying to watch but tied up

The video's been made available in the past, so I'd think it will this time.

Mine was pretty bad, but I fired up my work computer (which is directly connected to the modem) and it's fine now. It looks like a high-res video so that won't help.

Also sounds like they're insanely high on Perriman and they haven't talked a lot about adding much else in the position (might have missed a comment, and I hope I have). On the bright side, Harbaugh pretty explicitly said they wanted to add multiple pass rushers.

Ozzie said Perriman will be healthy "by next season"... Does that mean he's STILL not healthy?

This team needed a shake up, letting Pees goes would have been  good start, instead we loose a better coach. Hurt to watch this season and at the end nothing new happens but the same old...

So what? Pees don't rush more than four and sometimes only three won't know what to do with them.

Harbs and his crap. Score more points and then we will get more turnovers. Really? Because when the offense was in the Top 7 Harbs, we STILL weren't getting turnovers. Pees is garbage. Another "friend" issue that will stay here way too long.

Ozzie said they would be adding one maybe two in the first few rounds.

We have a 5-11 season. where the defense collapses routinely in the 4th quarter, giving up over 7 4th quarter leads, we are bottom in turnovers, and we do.....NOTHING to fix it. Zero, zip, nada.

Now the offense will get ignored for another four years while the defense is garbage. Expect even a worse season next year.

Have zero expectations for this team going forward in terms of any post season success. You can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

Must have said that quite early, because like I said the video was in and out for the first few minutes for me.

That's encouraging though. Our depth has been shown to be pretty dismal and as much as I love Sr I don't trust him to be a WR1 for a full season after coming back from an injury like that.

Hate to see we lost Monachino....  Otherwise I don't know what folks were expecting.  I don't think you're gonna turn on a news conference and hear them announce that they were letting Pees go....  You had to know that teams would be coming after defensive coaches for their coordinators....  We finished #2 in Defense the second half of the year....

Steve also mentioned the domino effect of losing players and how that impacted our performance.  It's just my opinion, but I cannot believe that people cannot see that as a viable reason for why things went topsy turvy.

Time to move on and go into next season with some optimism about getting some holes filled.

It was at the very end. I think it was the very last question.

Lol I can't believe Ozzie talked up/mentioned James Hurst like he's an option at LT. That was the highlight of the video for me.

Four seasons of the same issues over and over and over again. It isn't just this season, this was just when it all came crashing down. Expect more of the same.

And we let people like Monachino and Austin leave to keep that level of mediocrity It's insanity.

I must have phased out after all the talk of continuity then, my bad.

You see it your way, and I see it mine...  I guess I am more of a glass half full person....  I just don't know where you believe that the last 4 seasons have been the same...  it was only 3 that we won a Super Bowl... and the year before that, we were a catch and a FG from a Super Bowl....  Sometimes I just think people's expectations are a little high.

Steve's explanation of "the fan's views" of the officiating carries over to more than just the officiating....  That and the effect of losing Suggs... and how things impact...  Just sayin.
