19 posts in this topic

Good news everything seems to be going well. Just want Flacco to get a fair deal done and fast so when he does come back we can get some more pieces around him to get us back to the big game....

It's very good news indeed that Joe's rehab and recovery is proceeding smoothly. Sounds like Joe is diligently working hard but being smart about not overdoing it. It's good that Joe is working out so often at the UA center. It's also a positive thing to do so among his teammates, for them to see how determined their QB is to rehab and be ready for next season. Keep it up and good luck Joe.

A large part of the return to sport after ACL reconstruction focuses on proprioception, biomechanics, and in this case most likely plyometrics, speed, and footwork. His recovery could lead to better, quicker footwork and the increased ability to move in the pocket and escape the pocket as it collapses.

Joe is an ultimate Pro, and imo he will be back and ready to go come next season. My big question mark is with our Scouts and Personnel departments Ozzie included of course. This offseason they have to find speed and playmakers for the edges of the offense and defense. I feel the we are a strong team on the insides on both sides of the ball, where we have been seriously lacking recently is speed and playmakers at the rush end and CB positions and at WR since we lost Torrey and Perriman never got on the field. If we are going to pay Flacco which I completely agree we should because the last thing you want as a franchise is to constantly have influx at the most important position on the field. We must support Flacco with consistent weapons, I think we have that at TE and I also feel we have that at RB, its time to get joe some continuity at the WR postion. I know this year was rough but I believe the Ravens will augment the areas of weakness we had this year and will have our Baltimore Ravens back contending in 2016

I'm not too concerned about Joe's recovery at all. It'll take care of itself as long as he rehabs aggressively and on schedule. However, his contract situation concerns me a whole lot more. Linta is an agent that wants the most lucrative deal for his client (his compensaton kinda depends on it too). That in turn could lead to a battle of wits and hurt our chances at putting up a competitive roster. That is much more cause for concern assuming of course that Joe plays like he did in 2012, especially the playoffs.

He will be doing mad footwork drills... probably can benefit from that after he publicly admitted his footwork wasn't great last year, He'll be back better than ever (I Hope)

Something that is important is making sure that he doesn't injure himself trying to get back to quick. He is our starter and we need him healthy.

Our QB position looks like this:

Joe Flacco-Starter not going anywhere.

Ryan Mallet- Back-up, not going to play much (hopefully)

Our QB position is probably the easiest position to predict going into the offseason and I would like it to stay that way.

Strongest guy in the NFL. I remember him playing through the final two games of 2013 with a sprained MCL and you could just see in his eyes the pain he was playing through and he got back up and kept taking snaps. He finished the Ravens final drive against the Rams this last season with a torn ACL and MCL. What a blessing it is to have him play for us I hope he comes back healthy. We need to groom some weapons for him this next coming season and hopefully we won't have a musical chairs offensive line like last season. We need everybody healthy this next season.

I just want Joe back to 100%, as well as all our other great starters and backups that went out with injury this season..... Nothing would make us fans happier, than to see our team back on top next season...... Continue to heal well Joe, you are one of the toughest QBs I've ever watched play, and hopefully we will see you in September :)

In the positive vane, Carson Palmer who is older than Flacco went down with similar injury about the same time a year ago and look at the year he had since. If the surgery has the same effect on Joe, he should be able to win 13 or 14 games for us next year:))

.....and we can expect the Ravens to turn this into another guessing game when he sits until the 8th game next season. Get him two receivers and a LT.

The era of the pure pocket passer is long gone, these days a QB has to be mobile in order to be successful. They somehow have to get Joe to work on his footwork and teach him better pocket awareness with the blitz packages defenses are bringing full pressure mobility is a key for survival.
