Who should we take at #6?

In crude stats that's just 3.3 yards per. Not good enough. I know one way of fixing that, though...

im not talking crude stats, im talking if we give him the ball on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down, we better be guaranteed to move the chains every time lol.

and yes i know, that is a myth, im exaggerating here but you get the point, i dont value rb's that highly unless the team is already loaded and could use a workhorse/home run hitter rb to top it all off.

that's what I was thinking, did t see any sense in that analogy of picking first at the deeper position when Treadwell is better at his position

I would love Treadwell and every year I want a wr that I love we don't draft them

I feel your pain. CB's are falling into that category as well with the exception of Tray (whiff) Walker.

Basically.  Ill be honest i dont watch college ball like most of you, i come in the draft section and read about what everyone thinks then i go watch game tapes of certain players so i can at least form my own opinion, i have no problem admitting when i dont know something.

No doubt he is disruptive and has a high motor, but it seems most of his plays come from a bull rush style, splitting up the middle, speed on the outside.  Will he be able to do that to NFL lineman, i dont know what level of competition he played against as far as lineman go.  Like i said im not to familar with college, but i do just have an odd feeling, like hes this years massive hype train.  With good reason, he looks like a beast.  Just makes me nervous when everyone thinks hes the cant miss guy, i guess.  (Sorry my response is spotty, trying to leave work)

Care to give me some cliffs on what you see ?

Welcome to my world.

Is Tray Walker going to develop into that shut down corner? Or is our secondary coaching so sub-par that there isn't a chance to develop these young players? I want to see us hire a really good secondary coach like a Teryl Austin or a Chuck Pagano this year.

Lol I wonder what people here would do if Ozzie threw us all a fastball and drafted Ezekiel Elliott. It's such an Ozzie Newsome move, too. You think he's going left and he goes right. That ol' Kentucky shuffle.

Do you remember how much i wanted gurley

Yeah, you were one of the few who wanted him here.

Ah, What could have been.

Elliot has some nice qualities but i feel like his draft stock is like yeldons. A lot of ppl will like him and call him a first rounder but he will go early day 2

Would be nice to snatch him in the early second like we did with Rice. If we nail free agency and get some depth on the defensive side of the ball, Laquon in the first and Zeke in the second would make me excited. I think it's time to try and get near to being an explosive offense. Heck, even Flacco wants one.

have you ever spoken to anyone with even an ounce of respect? every post of yours is condescending and rude and you always go out of your way to insult another posters intelligence.

the fact of the matter is, if you compare treadwell and jaelen strong in 1 aspect and say they have equally poor route running, then you are missing something, treadwell may not be amari cooper but he is lightyears beyond jaelen strong.

Dude. I dont' care. He clearly is one of those who believes his opinion is above everyone's. Just let him do his thing. We have a different opinion. So what?

I agree with Treadwell being light years above Strong. Whom I HATED as a prospect. Treadwell is a more developed route runner, is faster, and more physical.

Pretty sure this wont happen. Too many early round picks invested already

Taliaferro/west (since we were going to take west)

Allen

And that doesmt include forsett. I doubt we even take 4 rbs on the roster.

Don't think it would happen either, but if it did, LT and Forsett would be cap casualties in my opinion

Taliaferro doesn't have great health record in BAL and West isn't guaranteed the job, I think.

Would love Zeke in the second, it would really help flacco to have a solid RB nothing against Buck Allen hes an awesome receiver but I think Zeke would be an upgrade as a runner.

I wonder what will happen to Smith and whether he declares for the draft still or not. If he does and he does drop to the second, I can't imagine passing on him. That would be a dumb move for any team at that point, at least in my opinion.

Realistically Monroe isn't getting cut, too much dead money just sitting. KO might be out of our reach to resign but he's a guard and we have Jensen and urschel. If we draft a tackle he'd be sitting behind Monroe and Wagner unless one of them got hurt. Which is a possibility but I'd rather gamble on a DB, especially since WEBB is a safety now. We have no proven dbs besides jimmy smith. We should trade back some and select VH3 and get an extra pick

Monroe can be cut. He'll even save us $2.1M if we cut him. He's far from guaranteed to return. This obviously hinges on whether the team re-signs KO or not. If we don't, then yeah, he'll probably stick around.

Dunno if you saw this (I haven't seen anyone mention it and the specifics have just started to come out today), but he has a torn ACL and MCL and could have done nerve damage to that knee. No reference to a recovery time. You're a medical guy - I know these things vary wildly but who else has suffered similar damage recently and how well do players come back from that (especially ones that make a living off their athleticism)?

it's risky it sounds like. If he stays in school and recovers and comes out next year, prolly considered a top 5 pick. He could also stay and they find out something is damaged long term and which will obviously destroy his draft position. Maybe he just comes out now...

Knowing our luck lately, he falls to us in the second, we take him, find out is knee is forever destroyed. Poor kid

I saw one theory that Bosa's ejection was deliberate so he could be guaranteed to finish the season with both his legs intact. Considering he launched shortly after he watched Smith get carted off, the theory at least makes sense.

If Smith has an insurance policy, he may end up coming out and if he doesn't get picked in the first round, he would get paid a nice chunk of change. I know Jack has an insurance policy although I think he will end up going in the first. Tough to tell with Smith until we get closer to the draft and see how he is recovering.

Speaking of fan theories, maybe he is Jar Jar Binks in disguise.

He has a policy - $5 mil on a loss of draft value.

Man, I had a long reply made and I accidentally closed the window. Ugh. Bottom-line is it's hard to say because we need to know if he actually damaged a nerve, what type of nerve was damaged, etc. You don't just have nerves. You have nerves dedicated for specific functions, such as senses or motor functions. You can guess what they do and you can probably guess the complications that occur due to damage done to these nerves. Nerves can regenerate unlike brain cells; however, they are notoriously slow-healing. So if there is nerve damage he will almost certainly not play football for at least a year.

If his motor nerve is damaged, he will especially be held back because that can cause weakness in the leg, possible paralysis (to the specific leg), etc. There's too much to really say right now without more details. He's certainly a major risk and his injury is reminiscent of the Lattimore-injury that eventually ended his once-promising career. Sadly, if there is nerve damage, he may suffer the same fate. His greatest strength in terms of his ability to cover could now become a liability if he loses sensations or motor functions.
