Who should we take at #6?

Then how come players don't have to deal with on a yearly basis in the pre-draft process? I agree that something he did over a year ago and hasn't had any run-ins since is a pretty good sign he won't resort back to ecstasy. However, your argument that "everybody in college that partied did X" is very poor and that should not be your case as to why the Ravens should draft him. If it's "just ecstasy" than what makes you think his stock will fall? In your mind who would we trade back with in order to still be able to get him? In no scenario do I see a trade back partner with a pick earlier than the Eagles

Yep. If we don't get Spence at #6, he is going to Tampa.

Living in the DC area I hear a lot of news, like it or not, about the Redskins.

Anyway, I was reading about Scot McCloughan's press conference at the Combine and he was saying that this years draft is one of the deepest he has seen.  That's a completely different take than what we have been talking about and I tend to believe it is deeper than some posters have mentioned, but this is taking it a bit far.  He went onto say that part of that is because of 117 Juniors that entered the draft, compared to 65 in 2015.

Thoughts?

were talking about a college athlete who has dreams of being in the NFL and not once but twice caught using. A year is a good start but he will fall to the end of the first early second. Btw not everyone does X. Everyone has done the pots and drank every brand of alcohol on the planet but not X. When going to a show or a event like EDC not everyone there is on a drug. The rave seen is so much different then when it first started out.

Spence will be gone by the 15th pick, book it.

If we trade back that far I wouldn't mind picking him up. But there's no way he is top 6 drafted or even top 10.

Seriously, who are the 10 guys more talented, better scheme fits then Spence? I don't see them.

Your gonna be quite surprised then. Hes Already considered a top 15 pick and his stock is only rising. He was regarded as One of the top 5 players in the nation before the suspension.

What happens when he test positive during the Combine?

I'd honestly think it'd be further than that.

He admitted his ecstasy issue dates back to high school, failed twice in college, that we know of, and then failed a drug test at one of the most important scouting events before the actual draft. That's a load of stupidity.

True, but I think someone takes the chance in the second round.

That is a major "if" though. He's been testing negative for it for over a year now so it's not like it is a part of his life anymore.

We don't know that he won't relapse when millions of dollars are being thrown his way.

A year isn't that long. He's probably scratching the walls. He has no money for his addiction so he is going to the NFL. To get big money in order to get more drugs. He will have the money. Then he will run out of the money. He loves the X and the D.

Us not picking someone in the top ten is different than saying there's 10 better choices. I see 5 or 6 players I'd take over Spence with the 6th pick: Tunsil, Ramsey, Bosa, Buckner, Jack, and possibly Shaq Lawson.

Exactly, and we will never know unless/until he does test positive. To put it into a number, what would you say the actual likelihood of it is happening? Based on his history since the incident is 100% clean (to our knowledge). Stallworth plead guilty to DUI Manslaughter yet he managed to play in the NFL (ravens included). People make mistakes. The same mistake doesn't happen twice. So until he gets involved again it's hard to say he is LIKELY to be a repeat offender

It's a complete crapshoot to me. It's 50/50 to me because this dates back to high school. If he gets back into a bad crowd, it could be a huge problem.

According to Ozzie were down to two picks that we most likely will pick that will be there at 6. He said this yesterday and today Osemele was offered a huge contract. If he takes the contract which I hope he does I have a feeling one of the picks was Stanley, so that would take him off the board. Leaving one! ... But which one is the mystery.

I don't think there is any mystery that the Ravens' FO wants Jaelen Ransey. Not sure who the other guy would be.

I agree with you on Tunsil and Ramsey. I'd say it's say it's a toss up between Bosa, Treadwell, and Spence with Treadwell and Bosa being by far the safer while Spence has a bit higher upside. J.Smith might be in the conversation as a better prospect as well if it weren't for the injury.
