Because we lack a creative DC

Right, because we haven't already done what was suggested.

Except we have...

As unhappy as he seems right now about the position switch, once he applies himself and invests fully into being a free safety, I think Webb will surprise himself and the rest of us with how effective he can be! He just needs to commit to it with some passion. Maybe talk to Ed Reed and get some pointers to get him tracking in the right direction perhaps?

He was a safety in college, I am sure he will be fine there.  All the injuries have slowed him down.  Still knows how to play the game though.  Really overall he wasn't that bad at corner this year.

I think webb will excel on the FS position. He is fast enough to still play corner but we do lack a true playmaker at the very end of the field. I think webb will do just that. His range should be great. He is a natural on that position. He was just that good to be able to play corner in the league. If it wash´t for all his injuries he would still be a top 10 corner...

I believe this position switch is huge for Webb, and the Ravens defense as a unit. It's hard to find true playmakers at FS who can lead a defense, Webb can do that and he learned from the best.

Now he has the entire offseason to focus on that, as well as gain some weight (I'd assume thats the plan). For those who think Webb is too small, I'd like to point out a comparison. Earl Thomas is 5'10 202 meanwhile Webb is 5'10 182 ... If Webb can add even 10 pounds this offseason he'll be fine, and I think that will help with his durability over the season.

Now for the Ravens defensive unit this is big. Now we can have a true FS ball hawk, while having what I believe is a Pro Bowl SS in Will Hill. That will solidify the secondary, not to mention if we bring in someone on the defensive side w/ the #6 pick.
