Former Giants CB Prince Amukamara is signing a 1-year deal with Jacksonville, per source.

The Jags are gonna be a tough out.

Quick answer from Travis Benjamin during introductory Chargers press conference. Was it tough to leave Cleveland? "Not at all."

Ouch...

Haha. I love that. Benjamin one of my new favorite players with that comment.

PFT reports the Browns are willing to trade a third round pick to SF if Kaepernick is willing to take a paycut.

As much as Kap has struggled, I consider the Browns offer a serious low ball attempt. There have been some mediocre QBs pulling down some serious cash of late. I'd be surprised if SF dumps him for a 3rd, but I guess I shouldn't underestimate Chip Kelly's love for a good roster blood letting.

I'd be kind of pissed if SF gave him up to the Browns that cheaply. From a draft standpoint, I think it would be best if we see SF hold onto Kap. We need Browns in desperation mode for a QB come April 28th.

I'm not so sure it's a low ball attempt. Kaepernick himself has been pretty mediocre for the money he got at SF.

The draft pick should be more than adequate compensation to acquire Kap. Hard to say how they want him to restructure. The 49er deal is totally team friendly.

Hue Jackson was a big fan of Kap in 2011 and wanted to draft him when he was the Head Coach in Oakland. I'm not surprised Hue will go as high as a third because of that.

As for the restructuring, they have plenty of cap since they lost everyone so they have the cap room to take on his contract.

Sanchize!!!

Broncos traded for former Eagles and Jets QB Mark Sanchez, as @MikeKlis reported. Broncos gave Eagles a conditional 7th round pick in 2017.

Outside of us grabbing Watson, this is my favorite thing this FA. From Peyton to Sanchez ....lol....Grand Canyon size drop off.

Considering how Peyton played, i would honestly say its an upgrade.

I'd kinda disagree, but to each their own.

Guessing the Bucs don't mind the drama Brent Grimes' wife brings. Bucs signed Grimes to a 2 year $16.5M contract. Also his wife deleted her Twitter so maybe that was part of the deal to sign with Tampa?

If any NFL player's wife needed to delete her twitter account, she certainly did. Brent Grimes must of hated bringing his wife to any team functions.

It's only team friendly though because it had practically no guaranteed money. The Browns would inherit that, but he's still making decent money on existing deal.

He's scheduled for just under a $12M base salary in 2016, as well as games played bonuses and workout bonuses that could add another $2M to that.

So he has the ability to make $13-14M next season on his existing deal. That's a number the Browns would like to bring down.

That's a really affordable price for any starting QB right now. See:. Bradford, Osweiler. Last report states Kap like Jackson but has 0 faith in the Browns organization and their pitiful offseason which I find hillarious.

So IMO the best offseason quietly goes to the Bears. Freeman, trevathin and massie and now possibly akiem hicks. I like what they have done free agency/draft last year and this far this year.

Not to mention they got a steal with McPhee when you look at what some of these guys are getting this off season.

For 2016...maybe. The difference there is that the Texans and Eagles signed those guys to contracts they wanted...they didn't inherit a contract from another team.

The pay cut is likely more for the future than the present, since you're inheriting a contract that still has five years on it. If he plays like he did the last two years, paying him $17M in 2017 and 2018 would be terrible even my starting QB standards.

Yeah McPhee was a great pickup for them and a big mistake letting him go for Baltimore. Not having him behind Suggs was the beginning of the end here. But I digress. Bears D now solid up the middle all with young talents.
