Ideal draft Scenarios

142 posts in this topic

I vote trading down significantly to take Desmond King in the middle of the first round and hopefully getting a high pick in next year's class, which is looking loaded. Use the extra 2016 picks for Carl Lawson and BPA (who just happens to be a franchise LT) at the top of the second. Sterling Shepard in the 3rd. That's a dream 3 round draft that hits every one of our glaring needs.

San Fran winning that game in OT was YUGE. Freaking YUGE.( in my trump voice )

I would not mind trading back to 15 with St. Louis and grabbing Alexander. Either that or just switching with San Fran and taking treadwell.

While obviously the higher the pick the better chance of hitting, im merely saying that 3 to 6 isnt the end of the world.  Some people act like we are picking 25th or something.  You can find busts or gems anymore, there is too many examples of each...its all a guess.  For all we know Bosa could be a bust, unlikely,,,yes, possible, of course.

lol u just said my point. In last yrs or 2014 wouldn't really care. But this yr is a free for all after Bosa Tunsil maybe Buckner. My opinion I stand by Ramsey VH3 have some issues. I would love Ramsey if he could find the football then make plays. But He has some Taylor Mays in him. But this draft could be worse than 2013. On a side note it could be cool to trade for Mingo. If he bulked up he could be phenom. Harbs will be that coach to challenge him to go put on some muscle. He is explosive and packs a punch for 240 lbs!! At 258 he could be the next Boulware. If ravens could get him for a round4 pick I can promise you no player in this draft outside round1 plays with that kind of athleticsm, flexibility, punch and explosion. Carl Lawson, but he is going round1. In a pathetically weak draft this could be the year to explore trades of mid to late picks for talented players underachieving on bad teams with terrible leadership.

Just saw a mock draft that had the idea situation for the Ravens available: Buckner, Alexander, Tunsil, and Stanley were all available at six overall.

So, who did BleacherReport have the Ravens taking? Jaylon Smith, OLB. Not everyone should do mocks

or when we completely lost our minds when dez got taken 1 spot before us lol

Any rational gm should of saw that coming and traded up for him. Every team knew the ravens would take him. Just as teams knew ravens would take Gronk. Ozzie is just to content to draw a name from the hat.

I agree. I feel like that was just a real kick to the groin and it thwarted our plans quite a bit, we still haven't had a wr corps that has been above decent and it could have possibly been avoided with some aggression

I'm very big on J.Ramsey.

But I wouldn't have an issue if Ozzie found a team desperate for QB to trade back with pick up more picks.

I'd love to get Treadwell later in the round, if available ( or if Nkemdiche fell a bit like some mocks have ).

I'm hoping Kendall Fuller falls to early second round due to injury

What are people's thoughts on trading for Joe Thomas? He basically admitted he might be okay with being traded depending on the next Browns coach.

Until Cleveland has someone making decisions trades with them seem unlikely. I was listening to Adam Schefter talk about Joe Thomas to Denver deal. And apparently Denver personnel was on the phone with Cleveland with a deal on table for a 1st & 3rd. Then they couldn't figure out whom in Cleveland had the final call to pull the trigger.

If we can manage to pick ahead of the 49ers, we can try and hold them hostage for Goff. Get an extra first for 2017 potentially.

one spot lol that would be the best trade ever if we get a third out of them for one spot I would bol

Ideal trade senario for me would be to trade with the Rams.

Our 1st could gain us their 1st (15) 2nd (12) and 4rd (13?).

1st @15, 2nd @5 and 12, 3rd @7 and have three 4ths, thats before the comp picks.

Could we get the Rams 2017 1st rounder?

I'm really big on Treadwell at 6 I think he really could be Dez Bryant like, but the more I've thought about it, wouldn't an uber athletic, possession, do it all kind of receiver like Tyler Boyd be just as good and a second round pick at that?

Best you could probably mug the 49ers off by moving one spot is a 4th this year or 3rd next year.

absolutely not. everyone and their mother knows they are targeting a qb and theyre not the only ones. teams who are locked in on a qb will pay a steep price for it, the ravens have the leverage and will have the luxury of being the last team on the clock before the feeding frenzy for the 2nd remaining qb begins(assuming cleveland takes a qb). we dont NEED to trade back, however, SF needs to trade up, so does STL, and im sure some others will consider it like PHI and NO. there could easily be a bidding war for our 6th pick and the highest bidder takes the qb. while we may not get a kings ransom because of the value of this draft, the price of a "franchise" qb will be much higher than that, you can bet a 2nd + 4th + next years 2nd as well, and i think the price could go up from there

boyd value is stupidly low for some reason, im still sort of assuming he goes in the first, our luck just doesnt seem that good. but even so it all depends on the boards, if treadwell isnt the best player for us available then he wouldnt be the best pick and if a supreme talent falls to us in the 2nd then boyd may fall short on our board. i personally think treadwell is better, safer, and at 6 is still good value, but i do think boyd is the real deal.

Treadwell isn't making it past Dallas. We're taking a trench guy, OT/DE

Dallas was horrible without Bryant this season.

You mean romo? A team can expect to be horrible when their elite QB goes down.

I think Romo going down really did them in. I think they would have battled for a playoff spot had he been healthy. Would have helped us move into the 5 as well.

Williams isnt an ideal #2 option. Witten is getting up there

Williams got 800 yards this season. If say he's a workable #2, especially when their defense is lackluster in the secondary is greatly lacking. In a division with Garcon, OBJ and DeSean Jackson you can't afford to have a weak secondary. I have them picking Hargreaves or Ramsey.

I think a good scenario for us if Miami moves on from tannehill. They will likely try to jump San Fran, and moving back 2 spots seems pretty ideal. Still would likely have a shot at vh3, Ramsey, Stanley and treadwell. At least a few of them will definitely be there. And if we can rake in a future 1st and a second this year we can move up into the back end of the first and grab Floyd if he falls that far. Maybe grab Apple , and then Sheppard in the third.

So Tyson Jackson was a sure fire franchise star? Dion Jordan? Braylon Edwards? Not all top 3 draft picks turn out to be hall of fame players.

Most turns out to be a bust.

#6 draft is good enough folks
