anyone else read that we'll be transitioning to a more traditional 4-3? I think defensive end is a must, if these reports are true.

It doesn't matter. We already play 3-4, 4-3, etc. packages.

We're playing at least 50% or more of our schemes in a nickel or dime coverage, which means at least 5 DBs, so the traditional schemes don't matter as much.

If anything, I'd argue its less incentive to target somebody like a inside linebacker early in the draft, because we should be seeing less and less two ILB formations.

I mean it would justify why we are so heavily rumored on getting Bosa or Buckner

true but i think if some one in the NFL was Innovative towards a 3-4 defense by adopting a tamp 2 like ILB's then we could see something pretty cool.. The OLB would be tall and fast like 6'6 230 type frame.... this would introduce a new type of 3-4 scheme that could match spread quick tempo offenses.... would be cool to see that imo...

I don't think it matters. We run the 3-4 and 4-3 a lot and we run a true hybrid scheme. We're very much in the nickel a lot anyways, which means we run a 4-3 scheme in those situations, sometimes even a 4-2. I wouldn't worry too much about the semantics of it.

And we've really started running a lot of 4-3 under, too.

I really like the 4-3 under. I do recall seeing that a lot last year, now that you mention it. I think Upshaw had some of his best moments in that scheme.

I believe if we select Jack he has the versatility to play inside next to Mosley and slide outside to rush the QB. He would make the Offense always have to account for where he is at, creating the opportunity for other players to make plays.

Having the duo of Mosley and Jack will also stop any team from throwing it across the middle and shutting down the Patriots TE Duo when we face them late in the year with a chance to knock them out of playoff contention now that Brady is suspended for the first four games.

We need someone with consistant impact, Bosa is not this.

Bosa is a relentless pass rusher and a force against the run. How is he not consistent impact ?

Nah, Michigan St and Oregon are just a few of his games in which he was completely irrelevant.

If you look at all of his work you see an impact player

But how often does this impact come against quality teams?

Brandon Williams and Antonio brown played against worse competition than Bosa and they turned out fine. Point is moot

Bosa is still just 20-years-old. He's got some growing to do. Last time we took a guy like him--a pass rusher who was young and had room to grow--it was Terrell Suggs, interestingly enough. He [Suggs] also ran a slower 40 than expected. We're taking Bosa. I'm convinced. I think you may want to come to accept this very likely probability.

Most games, you mentioned the Oregon game in which they mostly ran away from Bosa.

I just want a beast, if Ozzie thinks Bosa's the real deal I won't be mad, I just think he(Bosa) has putrid awareness but if it's one thing we can draft it's pass rushers.

This time tomorrow we might know who is the newest Raven, unless Ozzie trades down and our wait continues for couple more hours.

I agree.  I don't want Bosa but if he is our selection I have faith in Oz and what he expects him to be.

I'm so glad we finally get closure on the draft tonight. I feel like we've been anticipating the draft ever since last year early in the season when people starting saying we weren't going anywhere after the brutal, early losses.

At least 1/7 of closure...

People really soured on him, because he didn't live up to the ridiculous hype that was build up around him by the media. I really like him. I like, that he gets compliments for his technique already. That shows an ability and desire to learn. He'll improve greatly under NFL coaching, imho. I'm not sure, if he falls to us, but I'd love that.

Thanks god for the Eagles and Rams. Bosa, Tunsil, Jack or Ramsey. Whoever we draft, we'll get a good one.

Tunsil is probably red flagged.  He got into a ton of trouble past 2seasons.

Myles Jack is another guy that's probably red flagged.  He has an injury and always had durability issues.

I think we are going for a pass rusher or Buckner as a hybrid player similar to suggs.

Whoever our #6 pick is, whether he does well in 1st season or not, he has to be able to stay on the field.

Yeah, I don't really see or even buy the "off-field concerns" for Tunsil. They're largely unfounded.

You've got an altercation with a step-father (who allegedly punched his mother, so what do you expect somebody like Tunsil to do?) where there was no conviction and charges were dropped, and now the step-father is suing for money because he knows who's about to get some.

You've got Nkemdiche falling out of a window and Tunsil being in the room (literally, that's it).

And you've got him being suspended as a precaution for "impermissible benefits", which I would almost guarantee NFL teams couldn't care less about.

His durability is the only main question mark I see, and its up to teams to decide whether college durability issues correlate to professional durability issues. Historically, not much there.

Excellent summary.

Honestly, Tunsil's altercation with his step-dad is a plus in my book. If he defends Flacco's blindside like he defends his mother I'm all for him.

You think Sandra Bullock will give him that "protect the Qb like you would us" speech like she did the last tackle we drafted in the first round from Ole Miss?

Maybe we take the one from ND instead?

Plus, its not like being drafted from the same school means anything.
