I'm trying to show you that it is not the biggest factor...

I agree that it's not the only thing, but yes you still have to have a good season to win these awards...

But stats don't equate to a good season always. Pernell McPhee had the highest pass rushing productivity of any 3-4 OLB in the league, but he had 6 sacks. I'd call that a good season, but it didn't show up in the stat sheet.

Pressures and QB hits are stats

But not one that shows up in the box score, which is what I'm getting at.

In the same sense, Marcus Peters had seven interceptions to win the DROY award, but I believe allowed just as many. I truly believe he should have won it, but it's more than just the box score.

Possibly, but I imagine they just watch a ton of football.

Again, though, stats aren't everything. Remember when Suggs won it? He had like 14 sacks to Jared Allen's 20. It's more than stats

Yea, but he also had 7 forced fumbles and 2 Ints...

If Tunsil still available at 6, Ozzie will spill his coffee and dash in speed of light to get the card onto the podium.....

I remember people were so mad Allen didn't win, but if you watched Suggs, he was on another level.

I just remember many fans saying that Jared Allen having 22 sacks should have won it for him, but Suggs was it, no question for me.

Allen's sacks were pretty inconsequential. I'd be pretty mad if a guy on a 3-13 team was awarded that type of award.

It's about being the best defensive player, not leading an amazing team or amazing defense as a whole.

Team record shouldn't matter when deciding awards for individual players. It's just about what they personally did.

Does anyone feel Monroe still could be traded if we end up taking Tunsil? Yes I know someone suggested in a thread about him being at Guard or Tunsil would start at LG before moving to LT in 2017. Ryan Jensen did extremely well at Left Guard at the end of the year when KO moved out to LT to replace Monroe. Think there's a chance we draft Tunsil, start Jensen and trade Monroe to a needy LT team?

Seahawks have uncertainty at LT, Giants, Bears, the Vikings could be another option given the uncertain future of Matt Kalil. There are options in terms of trades and calling those teams about interest in him.

Monroe has a pretty tradable contract imo. The team who receives his contract would only have non-guaranteed base salary to pay, which is about 6.6 mil/season over the next 3 seasons. There are a lot of teams drafting too low to find an immediate starter at LT.

Seahawks really don't value their OL or tackle positions it seems, though they certainly could use Monroe if they can clear cap space or restructure his deal.

Panthers still have Oher at LT, which is part of the reason they lost the SB. They have cap space.

Lions have been stuck with Reiff at LT for too long it seems. I know they have been talking about moving him to RT, but without a replacement LT, I don't know why they would do this.

Bears cut Bushrod because he was terrible. Not sure what their LT situation is right now.

I think the Vikes would stick with Kalil. Giants probably won't bail on Flowers at LT after only 1 season, but I know many consider him a RT.

Buccaneers could find someone better than Donovan Smith, who struggled as a rookie.

Rams could move Greg Robinson to RT or Guard, since he is pretty much a failure as a LT.

We technically can't rule-out Pittsburgh, although helping our biggest division rival seems unlikely to say the least.

There are still some stop-gaps out there. Will Beatty comes to mind. Jake Long is out there if someone is REALLY desperate. Nevertheless, when you compare Monroe's base 6.5 mil for 2016 with guys like Ryan Clady, Russell Okung, and Kelvin Beachum, it's a pretty average salary he's getting now. I could see someone giving up a 6th rounder if they're desperate, and if we draft Tunsil or Stanley (maybe Spriggs if we draft him in the 2nd and he kicks-butt in training camp).

Unless we get really good value in return, i dont know that id trade him. With Flacco returning from injury i would hate to be in a position where either Tunsil struggles out of the gate or, heaven forbid, he gets injured and then we're in the same position as last year with having to start a PS level talent. It puts Flacco at risk, and makes the whole left side of our line a liability.

I dont think the $2m cap savings and a 4th-7th rd pick is worth giving up the depth and luxury of having 2 starting caliber LT's. The insurance and ease of mind is well worth it IMO. Now, if someone offers up a 3rd rounder??? I may have to start considering it. But expecting even a 4th might be pushing it.

I agree actually.

If I were to take one player I'd bet on, it would be Bosa, slightly ahead of Tunsil.

I think Ramsey will be gone, and I don't think Buckner or Jack are serious considerations for that pick.

If SD doesn't take Tunsil, I'm putting my money on us taking him.

If SD drafts Tunsil, I'm gonna say Hargreaves.

I'm thinking Hargreaves is dropping a bit... probably to back end top 10 or maybe like top 15. I think a lot of teams are viewing him as a slot corner long term, and you typically don't spend a top 10 pick on a guy like that. I think we like him, but maybe not #6 like him.

I think its between Ramsey, Tunsil and Bosa in that order. If they are all three gone, I think we trade pick (possibly targeting Hargreaves later) or potentially grab somebody like Buckner or Stanley, though I don't think we're as high on either.

I'm in the minority, but I think Jack isn't even in the equation as a top 10 pick for us.

He was before that latest news about his knee came out over the weekend.

Well, for us in particular, we will likely never know (unless they tell us). Like everything else, its all just speculation until draft occurs. Its entirely possible he was off our board all together in the first round, and wouldn't surprise me, just like I'm sure there are guys we think they might take that they aren't even considering (Buckner in my opinion) and there are guys we aren't talking about that they may have as top 10 players.

I think one of Tunsil, Ramsey, and Bosa are a Raven after 820PM EST Thursday. Lol, I assume the first few picks go in like 5 minutes then it's just the other teams deliberating. If I had to guess, Dallas takes the longest to decide. I think Jack is already getting prepared to buy his home in Jacksonville. The real question is who SD & DAL takes because we will likely take the other dude of the top-3. I think Dallas goes Ramsey and I have a feeling SD goes Tunsil or Buckner, although I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas took Bosa or Buckner.
